Wow, your kids go to school early!! Ours don't go back until after Labor Day- but they got out June 28, thanks to all the snow days

Mickey, thanks for the great review!

We're just a month out from our trip now, so excited!

How was the construction when you were there? TIA!

Barely noticeable last week. On far right end toward Yacht Club. Did get this shot from back (water) side.

Hi- haven't read through these 50 pages but glad to find the new thread! We check in on Tuesday but are already in Florida. Should be in Fort Lauderdale in about two hours to see my brother and his family before we check in!

We'll be dropping our pups off at Best Friends too!

Teena and Dee please let me know if you need any pictures taken or other missionary work while we are there!

In the FAQ at the beginning of this thread it says that packages should be sent USPS in order to avoid having items go through the business center. Well, I've got a problem. I just realized that my daughter neglected to mention that she's almost out of one of her medications and I won't have enough time to get it sent to me at home before we head down so I'm going to have to have it sent to the resort (it's mail order only; not sold in brick & mortar stores). The company uses UPS for their fast shipping. I might be able to call them to get them to ship Express Mail but I don't know for sure.

I guess my questions are as follows.
1. Is there any kind of delay to packages going through the Business Center?
2. Does the Business Center fee ever get waived for medical supplies? The ONLY thing that would be in the package is medication.
3. Do I use the same address in the FAQ whether the package goes USPS or UPS?
4. Is there anything else at all that I need to know about shipping a package?

Thank you!!

We leave in two days! Is there anything at YC that people would like pictures of? Please let me know!

Also, I know I read somewhere about checking in on the 5th floor if you're staying CL, but I can't find it anymore. Would someone mind telling me how to go about doing this? Thanks!

We are actually staying BC CL this time :goodvibes

When you arrive at the resort tell them you are staying on the club level and they will take you to that floor to the check in desks, rather than doing it at the front desk.

We use DME so there is normally someone waiting there for us when we get off the bus.

HTH!

I will not likely get around to a full trip report, although I am working on a dining review. So I will post my BC highlights here. For all those worried about construction, it was not a big deal. Might have felt differently if I was staying in a woods/Epcot view at BC, since there were some cranes over there. But aside from the scaffolding that Mike reported, nothing else was visible around the resort. We were lucky enough to stay club lounge with a BCV studio for part of the stay. Both were great. Here is the view from our room in BC:

I guess I would prefer Club lounge unless I got a two-bedroom. In that case, the space and washer dryer would win out. Club staff are terrific and work really hard to do anything you need. They even smile when dealing with the insufferable people who seem to think that the Club level staff are their personal servants. I took a few photos of the lounge, but not many.

We did not eat at Cape May as we are not big breakfast fans and the fish smell at night was not to my liking. We did eat at the Yachtsman and it was terrific, as was the Crew’s Cup lounge. Lots of other great meals reported in my dining review.

Our studio villa was quite nice and I have a few photos of our room and the common areas.

The pool there is quiet and relaxing if you need a break from SAB. But I love SAB and spent a lot of time in that pool with a couple of the noodle family members. There is always so much going on there with lots of fun activities for the kids in the afternoon. We did eat poolside a few times and Hurricane Hanna burgers and dogs fit the bill nicely.

Could only fit in an ice cream sundae at B&C, but it was great and we love the atmosphere there.

Mousekeeping was wonderful, both Karla at BC and Chantal at BCV, who kept things really neat and clean for us.

Happy to answer any questions for those of you lucky enough to have trips coming very soon. We are fortunate enough to escape for Columbus Day weekend for Food and Wine, so will be back soon.

For those regular yc/bc goers what dose a cab to the conteperary cost?

I didn't see anyone respond to your question. It has been over a year since I used a taxi between BC and CR and BC and the Poly, but at the time, it was under $20 plus tip.

Perhaps someone who has done this more recently can chime in with their experience.

disadventurer, Mickeyt and tortoni- thank you so much for your reviews of your recent trips! It is great to hear about your experiences for those of us who are going soon or wishing we were going soon!

Mike- you are so right about the YC counterservice. I was there in 2009 during the Beaches & Cream Breakfast experiment- I wish they would have continued offering this! Perhaps one of the reasons it wasn't popular was that guests didn't know it was offered (I only knew because I read about it here).

Tortoni- great pictures- may I use some of the villa pictures on the front pages of the thread? I finally have a few BCV photos, but always looking to add some.

Thanks again, all, and keep the reports coming!

Same for us (party of seven from BC to Poly, BC to CR and CR to BC) in February of this year.

Thanks for sharing and the great reviews and pictures Mike & tontori. Especially the CL food pics.

Mike - how was getting to/from MK? As excited as we are to be able to pop into Epcot, I'm worried that to/from MK is going to be a pain. Will probably suck it up and take a cab. And how was it to AK?

So jealous of the triple ride on EE without a wait. I need to research what to do at HS more because it's a toss up between going there and AK. The draw for AK is EE, but HS we can walk so I'm torn.

Sure, let me know if you need the links. My daughter has a few more and we will post those.

We have never found the buses to MK or AK to be a pain- although we are always at the bus stop by 7:30 for 8 am park openings. Don't know if the situation is different later in the day.

BUT, if you do take a cab to MK, remember to ask to go to the Contemporary Resort and then either walk or take the mono from there. Otherwise, if you ask for a cab to MK, the closest they can bring you is to the TTC, not the main gates, and you will have to take either the ferry or the mono from there.

The bus will take you just outside of the main gates.

Cinderumbrella, thanks for the info! We're taking DME, so maybe there'll be someone waiting for us!

We returned from out trip a couple of days ago and had a great vacation. We had a garden view at the BC. The hotel, room and staff were great. There was only a small issue with our room but I didn't let it affect our vacation. We had a room that was in the construction area. This didn't bother me at all. What was a little annoying was that while we were at the parks on the first day, the contruction crew left a huge mess on our balcony which made it difficult to even walk on the balcony. I figured they would clean it up the next day. When we got back the next day, the mess was still there. I am not a complainer, but I figured I'd let the front desk know. When I called, they said they would send someone up right away. We had to leave for Cirque De Soleil, and when we returned we were so exhausted, we all collapsed. The next morning I wanted to have my coffee on the balcony and to my dismay, the mess( broken siding pieces and other various debris) was still there. I decided to personally go to the front desk to resolve this issue. The CM was very apologetic and it was taken care of within the hour. We enjoyed everything else about the resort and would definitely stay there again. We didn't have any issues with Disney transportation (even to DTD). It seemed like every time we needed a bus, it was there within 5 minutes. The walk to Epcot was wonderful. We even walked to DHS one day.
It was very hot every day, but we tried to make it back to SAB everyday for a little while. We did have difficulty finding chairs on the first day, but no problem after that.
We ate at Yachtsman, Cape May and Captain's Grille. All very good.
I really would like to try CL next time:)

Thanks Dee. And first let me say thanks for answering everyone's endless questions. That's to you, Teena, MM, pixarmom, Robyn, CR fan, Mike (hope I didn't forget anybody) who make this the most responsive and best thread on the board.

What time do you think we'd need to leave BC to make a 9am rope drop at AK? That day will be our short day (MNSSHP tickets that night) so I want to hit the park first thing.
