2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part II

If you are paying money for the villa, it is my understanding you can book as far out as you want ... just like any other room at WDW.

Just tried to call and book it, they said it's 6 months out. I wish I could book now, very frustrating. I'm hopeful maybe when I am there in october there will b a bounceback rate.

First chance to post since we got back from WDW & The BC a week ago - we had the opportunity to meet the popular Ms. Teena who is as wonderful in person as she is on this board. Teena, I think you made my son Ryan's day when you gave him his own Key that he could hold on to... It stayed in his lanyard for the rest of the week!! He was sure to show Dad that he had his very own key that Mom didn't need to hold!!

Now we have no trips planned to WDW for the next year... I will have to live vicariously through all of you

Ryan is so precious!!! Hope you come back next year for another visit with us!!

We are back from an AMAZING stay at the YC Regatta Club. Our room overlooked the wedding gazebo and was very close to the lounge. I cannot say enough great things about the resort and the staff. DS came down with the stomach flu our first full day there and the CL CM's were outstanding in keeping us stocked in crackers, ginger ale and bottles of Evian. (Lucky for us it was a 24 hour bug and he was fine the next day).

We are a monorail family but after our second stay on the EPCOT side of the World, I think we are converts! I never thought a resort could top the GF in our eyes, but the YC certainly did! The location cannot be beat. SAB is the best pool ever and we spent a lot of time there.

Feel free to ask me any questions you might have and I can try to answer them!

Also, I did "complete" my homework assignment!!!

It will probably be next week before I have the time to do any thread maintenance and use these photos. End of school year, 3 field trips, high school graduation for my niece, elementary school graduation for my son, my manager at work is retiring, Father's Day and I am going to see Jimmy Buffett in concert on Saturday!!!

We just changed our October reservation and will not be staying at the Beach Club, whomever is in charge of the October list can remove us from it. DH and I decided we wanted to return to WL this trip.

What would be the best (or good) section to ask for a "garden view" room at the BC? We've done standard and water view in the past but this is a new "view" for us. Thanks

That depends on what you want. Do you want to be close to Epcot or close to the lobby (and thereby close to SAB and buses)? Do you want a full balcony? Do you want first floor? All the garden view rooms have a decent view of woods or gardens ... you have to decide what else is important for you.

Blueskies.....it was the most wonderful room! We were close to the lounge and had such a fantastic view! I highly recommend 5661! Every afternoon when we were returning to BC from Epcot, the yellow flag above the main entrance was always pointing right to our room, just like a little beacon (and to the sugar cookies and cold drinks!)

I'm going out of town early in the morning, but when I get back on Friday, I'll try to post some of our pics from the balcony.

Something tells me you will be adding a quick trip in before then...

Looks like the gift shop at both the YC and BC are kind of like a mini Emporium...carrying lots of different things... And the one at the YC ( I forgot the name of it!!?? ) really seems to have just about everything....resort wear, toilettries ( gotta love that H2O), snacks and anything else that you can think of...

Cinderumbrella - Thanks for the great pictures of the yacht Club. We have stayed there twice, but I don't ever remember there being wine and beer. Great addition, unless I didn't notice last time. But I usually do notice wine
We are planning on booking for August 2012 - a long time away but we are going on a cruise this summer so I can't get too greedy!

I know, I'm so excited about the 3D sonogram. It's hard keeping it quiet. I told Bob the second I saw him at the airport but no one else. Bob and I were hugging and jumping up and down and he kept saying, "Are you sure?" With that 3D thing, it was pretty clear ... it looked like Peanut was right next to me ... you could see "it's" hair, the wrinkles, ... it was amazing. It's Jeanne's wishes not to know so I have to keep it quiet. She doesn't even know I peeked. Thank goodness she doesn't come on the Disboards!!! But now I can go out and buy the perfect Disney outfit for "Peanut" to come home from the hospital in!

I know what you mean about the 3D sonogram. My son and his fiance just had one done last week. She is due 8/25. It was the coolest thing ever. I just wanted to grab her from the screen. She was waving her hand, sticking out her tongue, making funny faces. It will be something I will never forget.

We are planning on doing MNNSHP - probably on 10/25. I still need to order those tickets, but I need to wait until next month.

I am getting more excited - I really need a vacation! Plus, we paid the balance on our reservation (renting DVC) and paid for the DDP. I saw the park tickets were going up last Sunday, so I ordered those tickets last weekend as well. Now I just have to wait..... and it's hard!!

At least I can read through the DIS as I wait. Of course, I keep finding all kinds of things I can make - autograph books, shirts for the family, and more! DH just "loves" this part!

Teena - I am glad to hear that you are doing well. We are looking forward to meeting you in October. And I am looking forward to seeing pictures of peanut here sooner than that. I hope the sinus infection is long gone, and that your treatments end quickly and without concerns.

I am so happy when I come on this thread and see I am not alone! Yesterday I paid off the rest of the trip so now I think I just have to wait the 63 more days until it is time to go. I have made Autograph books for the kids (and they have already been printed and delivered from Snapfish), ADRs are made and I am working on convincing DH we need matching T-Shirts. So, now I am just thinking of details I know are going to be important.

I know we have to order Mountain Dew for DH (thanks for all the great suggestions). Now, my kids drink a ton of milk. We are staying CL but I see milk is only listed for breakfast. Is it possible to get it at other times during the day (like if I ask or should I contact IPO or just order some)? Also, beer--if DH wants one before it is out, can he ask for one like you can at other resorts?

I actually drink a lot of milk, too! If they didn't have milk out in the lounge at any given time, a CM would always get some for us in just minutes. I think the latest I requested a cup of milk was 10pm. Otherwise, milk is available in the BC Marketplace:
