2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part II

Just paid off our balance and added our room requests! Just had to share my excitement with people who understand why I'm so excited!!!

I paid off my balance too today! In fact I was so excited to be paying off my balance that I forgot to tell them that I wanted to use the $1800 of Disney Rewards that I had accumulated. Once I realized that I put the balance on my credit card instead of my Disney Rewards card, I almost had a heart attack. I immediately started panicking. I felt better after the CM was able to add a credit back to my credit card. So now we just count down (48 days) and wait for the fun to begin!

Congrats to all who've PIF! I just have a small bal. left, but waiting for those late Aug. AP discounts to come out. I figure when I switch to the AP rate, and can take off the 1 day park tickets (that I had to add for DDP), that should take care of the balance.

For those that have just been- any sign of resort specific items in the gift shop? Like tees, night shirts, hoodies, note pads, fridge mags, etc I remember Teena mentioning they may be back.

I know you are at the BC not usually the YC but I'm still hoping you may know the answer to my question.

When I stayed at the YC in Dec. I kept admiring the Blue decorative piece that they put on the end of the bed that has a blue Mickey outline in a rope looking effect. It would go absolutely perfect in my beach themed bedroom and I was wondering if there was any way I could purchase one. I forgot to ask when I was there and I'm afraid I might forget when I go again in a few weeks. Do you happen to know if that is a possibility? TIA!

I definitely know what you mean. They are very pretty. As far as I know we do not sell them. If it were me, I would ask to speak with one of the managers ... there is usually one hanging around the lobby. I'm sure they would be able to give you a definite answer or at least find out where Y&B purchased them so you could perhaps purchase one. The coral like lamps on the two side tables in the BC lobby ... people are always asking me how to purchase them. It was easy, I picked one up and the guest looked at the name of the manufacturer on the bottom of the lamp and then called the manufacturer. One guest recently came back and said they purchased four of them for their beach house at the shore. They were thrilled. I would also check to see if there is a manufacturer name on it. Then you could call them directly (like the lamps).

Thanks for all of the info on the Yacht Club Resort. We have stopped by to go to Beaches N Cream. This is the first year we are going to stay there, since we usually end up at Epcot for dinners. Plus it really looks great.

We are going Dec 1 - 5. Can't wait.

Congrats on your trip! Early December will be a great time to be at the resort!

Hello BC/YC fans! I have a quick question about an e-mail I just received from IPO (YC/BC IPO said they handle both BC and BWI.)

I'm working on a mini in-room pirate celebration for our boys. I started with IPO and at first they (Zoila) were very willing to help. Then IPO (Annie) referred me to the Disney Florist. Disney Florist would not customize a pirate celebration for us, and suggested we contact IPO. (I explained all about YC FAN, but no luck!) So I contacted IPO again and they (Omar) were very willing to help again and we were all set to go.

I just received a message from IPO (Annie again) informing me that there is a new policy that they cannot set up gift items in a room before arrival and check-in. Just wondering if anyone knows of this policy change. Robyn, you're both a pro and arriving soon, so I thought you might have some insight!

I'm just about to get my list together to email IPO so that's what I'll ask them to do also. I'll let you know how I make out!

Thanks, Robyn. Good plan - I'll do the same. After giving it some thought, it's probably better for the boys to get those pirate swords after they have some time to calm down, instead of when we first arrive!

Hello BC Friends! We have a dinner scheduled at Hoop Dee Doo for a 5:00 show and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get there and how much time to allow. We usually stay at CR or BLT, so I just take the boat. Not sure if we should take a taxi to FW entrance & then use internal bus or take bus to MK & then boat over to FW, or is there another option I don't know about? Thanks for all your help.

Hello BC Friends! We have a dinner scheduled at Hoop Dee Doo for a 5:00 show and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get there and how much time to allow. From the BC, take the Magic Kingdom bus. When you get off at Magic Kingdom, get on the boat that takes you to Fort Wilderness. It will drop you off right there where Hoop is. Time wise if you figure worse case scenario, you will get out to the bus stop at the BC and the Magic Kingdom bus will have just left. So, 20 minutes to wait for the bus. Then a 15 minute ride to Magic Kingdom. Then, if you have my luck, you'll just miss the boat and have to wait 20 minutes for the next one. Then a 15 minute boat ride. If you get there way ahead of time because you have better luck than me, there's lots of things to walk around and see. It's a neat place. I love Hoop!!! Love the show, the food and the drink!

Hi all, my name is Laurie and I have been a lurker for awhile now (felt a little funny jumping in on your conversations) but decided to finally jump in. We will be staying at the Beach Club for the first time Nov 24 - Dec 3 and we are SOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!!
I have one question (for now it's 1, I'm sure I'll have more as we get closer):
We are thinking of renting a car for a day or two, is parking at the resort free or is there a daily charge?

It's free for registered guests. You will get a parking pass.
