I also have a big surprise planned. It's killing me that I can't post about it because my daughter frequents these boards too and I don't want her to know! (And if you're reading this DD, I added this to torture you since I know how you are about not knowing something!!!)

really mom? :headache:

This is so funny... because it's something I would do too!!!

Too funny!! :lmao::lmao: popcorn::

I'm thinking of doing the resort photo session at BC on our trip, but I really like the hammock pics I've seen at Poly and GF. Does BC have one of those hammocks too?

I didn't realize they did the photo shoot at the BC/YC. I don't know about hammocks. I know they have some swings...??

Do you know how much the shoot is and how you set it up?

Hey Guys! Logged on to the Disney Florist website today and it says In-Room Celebrations: Coming Soon - A Pirate's Adventure!! Sound familiar to anyone? LOL!!:lmao:

I'm actually excited that maybe they got part of the idea from our custom celebration!:cool1:

Very cool! I was thinking about doing an in-room celebration for my DDs 7th birthday and after seeing your pictures and what a great job they do, I think I may go for it! Thanks for the inspiration :thumbsup2

When we were there last year the photo shoot was $75. The guys were set up in the lobby at the BC.DH and DS had one photo taken by them on the grass as part of our normal photo pass.He said they didnt normally do that but i think thet were quiet at the time.It was a great picture.
Our next trip i plan to do this for the whole family instead of the normal Disney pics, for which we have hundreds.

I was reading on the first page you can have your mug refilled at Beaches and Cream, does this mean in the restaruant or just at the walk up window?

TIA

Does anyone have the answer?

If you have not been there before, there is a walk up "lane" inside the restaurant, on the far right side for carry-out ice cream and to have mugs refilled. It has it's own side door.

I am not sure if they would refill the mugs at the sitdown restauant ... I would think they would but cannot say for sure from our own experience. We've always just ordered drinks with our meals.

Have a great time.

It's now $150. There is more info in ther resort photo boards.

can someone please tell me the difference thanks

A lock off has a door that can connect to a 1 bedroom villa. They can open it to make a 2 bedroom villa (1 br + studio). A dedicated does not have the option of connecting.

We've done the photo shoot at BC, the Poly and the GF. All three were great. We did the hammock pictures at the Poly, the grass and beach pictures at BC, and some formal and not so formal (on the beach) photos at the GF.

I really liked them all, but I think my favorite ones were at the Poly. I would do the photo shoot wherever you are staying!

I usually buy my refill mug at BC Marketplace, but I purchased a refill mug from the walk-up lane and Beaches and Cream once, and I've had it refilled in the walk-up lane.

I've never attempted to substitute my refill mug for a drink order at a resort TS restaurant. But after purchasing a beverage (like soda or coffee) at a resort TS, our server has occasionally seen my mug and offered to refill it for the road. One CM who offered to refill it told me that they aren't supposed to refill the mugs at TS locations, but since I purchased coffee and could easily dump the remainder in my mug, she thought it just made sense to pour it directly into my mug. That's from other resort TS, so I'm not sure of the policy at Beaches and Cream in the TS area, especially because it's sort of a TS/CS hybrid.

Yep. Photopass isn't doing the private resort shoots anymore. There was a transition very recently with all private shoots shifting over to Disney's Fine Arts Photography. There are 2 choices offered now. The mini-session is the one most similar to what the old Photopass resort shoots were. It costs $150 for a 20 minute shoot at one of four deluxe resorts (Poly, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge, or Grand Floridian). A photo cd with all untouched/unedited images and copyright release is included with the price. No prints included. The Enhanced Portrait Session costs $350 for a 1 hour shoot virtually anywhere on Disney property (yes, this includes the parks) with a photographer and an assistant. This session includes retouching/editing of all images and a 6x6 proof book. It's not on the website but you can get a photo cd with all the finished images and copyright release for an additional $50. The phone number to contact Disney's Fine Arts Photography is in the link above. There's a $25 deposit that is charged at the time of booking with the balance charged about a week prior to your scheduled session.

We last did family portraits in the Magic Kingdom back in December '07. It's that time again. We currently have the Enhanced session booked in World Showcase at 8:45 in the morning on our first full day at WDW in September (pre-cruise). We're buying the cd, too. I've already paid the entire $400 just so it's all paid ahead of time. I think it'll be fun. It's a nice compliment to the last set of portraits we had done.

Which has the better club level yc or bc. Specifically in terms of location. I would assume that food offerings would be pretty similar. Thanks.

Hi - is it too cold to swim in Stormalong Bay in January?

Thanks!

We have been to Disney twice in february, the first time it was hot during the day and chilly at night. We swam most days and did BB as well. The second time we went we had lots of quite cold days, but being british we swam anyway in the resort pool, the water was always nice and warm,it was just freezing when you got out:scared1:. The lifeguards were alway on duty fully clothed with huge ski jackets(they must of thought we were mad!).Usually at that time of year only one water park is open, one in january, then the other in feb.
It is that time of year when it can be hot one week then chilly the next:goodvibes

Thank you for answering the question about the refill mugs at B&C!

I have not used refill mugs at the Beach Club, so I don't have the info to clarify my FAQ post. Would you all help me fill in the gaps if you know if all the following locations are purchase points and which ones are all self-serve?

Beach Club Marketplace- Definitely Point of Purchase and Self-Serve

Beaches & Cream- Point of Purchase, walk up lane. Is this lane shared with the ice cream takeout, or can you immediately fill your mugs? Self-serve or assisted?

Hurricane Hanna's- ???

Ale & Compass (YC)- ???

Thanks!

If you are looking for something quick, Ale and Compass is great - there are bagels, muffins, a few pastries, cereal, fruit, juices, brewed coffee, and tea selection. There is a little bar with a toaster, cream cheese, butter, and jams. You can refill your mug here too if you have one. Great for on the go!

Did you happen to take any photos of the Ale & Compass breakfast area and offerings? Could you purchase the refill mugs there? Self serve? (See previous posting!) :)

We just returned from our wonderful BC stay and had two rooms (one for 5 days on CL and then 1 Garden View room non-CL). I don't think I took a picture of the view from our first room but I do have one from the second. Here are descriptions and let me know if someone wants the second picture to catalog.

Our CL room was 5674 and it had a full balcony and a nice day bed. The view was out over the drop off/bus area and you could see a fountain. My son was excited he could see the buses, LOL, AND a fountain! At night if you leaned over the balcony and looked off in the distance you could see the Epcot Illumination FW that were high. I thought it was a very nice room and not to far from the lounge or elevators. The view wasn't bad for a standard view. :)

Our second room was room 4549 and was booked as a Garden View but it might have been an upgrade to a Water view. It overlooked the quiet pool and the Boardwalk was off in the distance. It was a beautiful view!! Full balcony and a smaller type day bed/couch (not the big one like the first room). I loved the view in this room and it was quick access to Epcot although far from the elevators to the lobby. I do have a picture of this room if needed.

If you could post your view from 4549, that would be great! I'll add it to my file! I know pretty much the view you had from 5674. We were two doors down last year (5670). Our center view, of the front entrance/fountain was blocked by a ginormous tree, but to the right we could see the high fireworks from Illuminations and and to the left we could see the MK fireworks. :)
