We just returned from our wonderful BC stay and had two rooms (one for 5 days on CL and then 1 Garden View room non-CL). I don't think I took a picture of the view from our first room but I do have one from the second. Here are descriptions and let me know if someone wants the second picture to catalog.

Our CL room was 5674 and it had a full balcony and a nice day bed. The view was out over the drop off/bus area and you could see a fountain. My son was excited he could see the buses, LOL, AND a fountain! At night if you leaned over the balcony and looked off in the distance you could see the Epcot Illumination FW that were high. I thought it was a very nice room and not to far from the lounge or elevators. The view wasn't bad for a standard view. :)

Our second room was room 4549 and was booked as a Garden View but it might have been an upgrade to a Water view. It overlooked the quiet pool and the Boardwalk was off in the distance. It was a beautiful view!! Full balcony and a smaller type day bed/couch (not the big one like the first room). I loved the view in this room and it was quick access to Epcot although far from the elevators to the lobby. I do have a picture of this room if needed.

We had an awesome vacation! We are happy to be home but will one day return to the BC.:lovestruc

Oh, and we did not see any evidence of construction during our CL stay but we did hear the slight hum of equipment off in the distance during the afternoon. No sight or sound of construction during the evening. However, when we moved to the room overlooking the quiet pool they were working there and had equipment out during the day. Not loud or anything but you could hear the hum of generators and there were workers out there making everything look new again. In the evening they construction was not apparent. It wasn't bothersome to us though but we were only in this room a short time and didn't use the balcony.

In sum, my fear of the construction interfering with our vacation was unfounded. We had a wonderful stay and two nice rooms! Hope this helps anyone else who may be concerned. :flower3:
Thanks for your review. And I believe I can speak for countless others when I say, the more pictures, the better!! :thumbsup2

I was reading on the first page you can have your mug refilled at Beaches and Cream, does this mean in the restaruant or just at the walk up window?

TIA

Great to hear that you had such a nice vacation. Thank you for the review!

When we stayed at the Poly, we enjoyed a ground floor room with a patio because it made it easy for one of us to come and go while DD napped. We'd bolt the room door, and just enjoy the patio, taking turns to go refill mugs or grab a snack. For me, it's when I did a lot of shopping.

If we book a SV at BC, and ask for ground floor, is there a good chance we'd be able to do this? Are very many of the patios blocked by shrubbery to where you are kind of fenced in? What about foot traffic past rooms? Obviously we hope for quiet because it'll be nap time. Am I better off asking for a balcony to get above the busyness? Do all of the ground floor rooms have a patio with chairs and table? I guess the main question is ... are there any great disadvantages in our situation to being on the ground floor?

Whew! That's a lot of questions! :o

To tell you the truth, as long as you aren't going to be in one of the standard view rooms in the front of the YC overlooking the parking lot/bus stop, you should be okay. Unfortunately, with the new catagory structure I'm thinking that the standard rooms are all going to be there. I think you might be better off spending the extra $10 per day and asking for a GV if you are really interested in "peace and quiet". It seems at the YC, most the the rooms are either going to have a water view or a garden view if they aren't looking out on the parking lot. Of course there is that portion over by the S/D that faces away from the water but most of those are usually taken by the conventioners.

So...the rooms taken by the conventioners, what do they face?

I don't khow about standard view patio rooms. :confused3

We stayed in a patio room at the YC and did the exact same thing you did. It was perfect for sitting on the patio. The kids romped in the grass. We even walked down to the marina to catch high Illuminations (we could see our patio from this location).

It's done, we're booked as of today! Beach Club here we come! October 29-November 5! :cool1:

Curious as to whether we can request a room key for my granddaughter (2) in her name - she is on reservation.
We have other relatives staying at S/D and one of the Aunts will be babysitting in our room one night while rest of family goes to MK for Dessert Party and emh.
Since our room keys will all have our tickets on them we can not leave her one of ours.

Thanx

We just got back on Tuesday and our 2 year old daughter had her own room key in her name. No charging priveledges though...hehe!

We stayed in room 1511 at the BC last year, it was on the ground floor facing the woods directly behind the UK part of world showcase. We had a patio table and 2 chairs(which sometimes went missing, but we just borrowed them back) it is not fenced in, the path went right past the room.It was perfect for us, it was quiet with people occasionally walking past, but no way intrusive. We used to leave costumes out to dry, and they were perfectly safe. The rooms above us only had one of those small balconies(cant remember what they are called) but you cound not fit 2 chairs on them.
The best thing about our room was that the path led onto the main footpath to WS.From patio door to WS 3 minutes:goodvibes
I think it was rooms 1501-1530 being in this area.

I just noticed that we need to be added to the Nov./December list

Being Brits we book waaay ahead. I would love to be part of the Noodle Swap. We are staying at the YC from 25th May 2012-June 8th.

Just back from our 4 night stay at the Yacht Club (6/4-6/8). DF and I are very sad to be home and did not want to leave. 5 days is definitely not long enough, but unfortunately that's all our schedule allowed. In any case, we had an amazing time!!

We landed around 10am Saturday morning and took magical express to the YC. Only took about an hour before we were in the YC lobby :)

We checked in and were told our room was ready! I had requested that we be 2nd floor or higher, and have a view of the wedding gazebo (we were booked in a GV non-CL room), but the CM checking us in told us that we had been upgraded to a water view room over looking the wedding gazebo, and that the room had a king bed! We were very excited, since we have never gotten a king bed in disney, which is why we don't even request it anymore. It was in the corner, so it wasn't a direct water view, but we did have a view of the lake. Once I figure out how to post a picture, I'll post one or two of our view.

We enjoyed everything about the YC. This was our second visit to YC and we stayed at BC once before, too. We agreed this was our favorite stay. Maybe it was because we took it at a slower pace than usual, and took the time to really enjoy the resort. We sat by SAB one day, and the quiet pool another day. We really loved the quiet pool - we were even able to take a nap out in the sun because it's so quiet.

Mousekeeping was great - each day our room was made up by the time we got back to the room. We always had fresh towels and plenty of toiletries.

The cold water off the lobby is such a great touch for when you come back from the parks. You can grab a cold glass of water on the way up to your room to help cool down.

All the CM's were VERY nice and accommodating. Any question we had was graciously answered and everyone walking in the hallways or in the lobby greeted us with smiles.

We took full advantage of the food options at BC/YC, eating at Captain's Grille, BC Marketplace, and Ale & Compass for breakfast. We got ice cream at Beaches and Cream. We really enjoy walking over to the boardwalk in the morning for breakfast at Kouzzina, and stopped by the BW bakery. We ate at many great restaurants this trip (Rose and Crown, Via Napoli, Flying Fish, Citricos, Sanaa)!

There was a convention going on as we say many conventioneers around the YC. I've seen some people post that they don't like the YC for this reason (or one of the reasons). It definitely didn't affect us in anyway.

Transportation went smoothly. We mostly walked to DHS, but did take the boat once, and it was pretty quick. We walked to Epcot many times within a day just to get something to eat or so DF could get a beer in England :thumbsup2
Bus to AK and MK was also fine. One night coming back from MK we had to stand because the bus was packed, but it was a quick ride, so no big deal.

We have always gone to disney end of May or beginning of June, but this time we thought it was much more crowded in the parks. The night we went to see fantasmic, we went to the early show (9pm) and they stopped letting people in because it had met capacity. When we came out, the line for the 10:30 show was so long!! Afternoons were PACKED (actually by 10:30/11 parks were very busy), which is why we would get an early start, leave for the afternoon, and go back at night because dealing with the crowds in the heat wasn't as fun. We were definitely shocked by how busy parks were.

Because we had a late flight yesterday back to NJ, we asked for an extended checkout and they gave us til 1pm, which was perfect!

It was really tempting seeing the bounceback clock in the room with such a great discounted offer, but unfortunately we won't be able to travel before 2011 is over since we are planning our wedding! We do hope to be back in 2012 though :)

Noklo - thanks for yur review. Can you tell us what you had for brfeakfast at Captains Grille, did you do the buffet or order off the menu?

I asked a similar question a while ago and Teena replied that since the rooms were given new categories there are no more 1st floor SV rooms. :( We had a first floor room last July and really enjoyed the patio. The foot traffic (outside) our room was from Housekeeping. We were in room 1576 which was right next to housekeeping.

We booked GV this year and requested a ground floor room. :goodvibes

Added! Dee will update page one ASAP.

Just popping in quickly! I have been working every day this week which is very unusual for me so I am in major catchup mode!

I should be able to update the guest lists and other thread maintenance tomorrow morning.

Niki- great review! Thanks!

ChipnDaleRule (so true)- I will update you on the guest list, but no way am I going into 2012 for the noodle swap! I regret to inform all of you that the expected life span of a noodle does not bode well for our family to last until next year! That's if they don't get lost. :scared1:

But we shall see.
