Hello friends! We checked in yesterday morning and were surprised by a big load of pixie dust right off the bat---upgrade to club level! Full report when I return......

Xoxo, Alice'

WOW! Enjoy your stay Alice and fill us in when you get back........Major Pixie Dust there!

Hello! I've been reading for a few months and finally started to officially join. We haven't been to Disney since Dec. 2004 when I was pg. with my daughter. We booked a CL room at the BC and will be staying Aug. 14-19 but may extend our trip. I'm excited to share the love with Lauren, stay at an Epcot resort and stay deluxe for the first time (last time we stayed at CBR).

BC seems like a great choice for our family and the boys, 12 and 9, will flip over SAB.

Welcome meklmom. Jump in and hang on. Nothing but friends here.

Adding you to Aug trip list (Dee....still updating on page 4).

Question about the mugs at Hurricane Hanna's. Do you get to refill them yourself like at the Beach Club Marketplace or do the Cast Members fill them up for you?

Hello! Just wanted to say thank you for this thread and all the wonderful information. We will be doing a split stay from June 3rd to June 6th, I have red curly hair and four kids, my name is Linda. If you spot us, please say hello!

We were very surprised when we arrived that we did not see any construction workers or equipment everywhere. Then it hit me---this is Disney and they really make every effort to be as unobtrusive as possible. We spotted scaffolding on our way back from Epcot yesterday morning and spotted some railings and such on the building by the quiet pool. I think that anyone who is worried should really try to relax. This resort is beautiful. I totally get why there are so many die hard fans. I have NO desire to stay anywhere else from here on out. I'm sure my hubby and kids would readily agree!!!

I'll try to take some pics in the next couple of days.

Alice - thanks for the "live report".

What a fantastic surprise to be upgraded to cl!
Watch out though - it happened to us in 2008 and now we are spoiled and don't want to stay anywhere but BC CL!!!

Have a magical trip.

Nannette - thanks for much for the pin. It really brightened my day.

Janetmom and BlueSkies- you are both 2012, right? I can add your dates or wait until sometime this summer.

Alice, that is one heck of a dose of Pixie Dust!!! :wizard: I have always secretly hoped it would happen to us. Enjoy it!!

We will be checking in tomorrow night. Never checked in as late as we will be, and I'm hoping we won't be stuck in a "all that we have left" room :lmao:

How is the weather now? It got pretty hot here yesterday, and the humidity is creeping in.

I can finally pack today, and I'm not sure if I will be able to stand the excitement of waiting until tomorrow at 1:15 for the flight to take off.

Here's a Very Important Mission for anyone who is at BC/YC or is going soon - according to the wdw website restaurant menus the Key Lime Pie is no longer being offered at the Captain's Grill.

That is one of my favorite desserts in all of Disney.

If anyone could please check the menu when they are there I would be so appreciative.

I'll be so disappointed if the key lime pie is removed from the menu. It is sooooo good!

Thanks!

Glad that you and the family are having such a wonderful time and thanks for the report on the construction.

Oh say it isn't so :sad2:.......................the key lime pie caught my eye this past week when DH & I switched a few ADRs and made one for Cap'ts Grill on our arrival night.

Hello Dee,

I love how you look after all of us with this thread! It is more than just putting the information on the first page, you are always looking out for everyone.

You are welcome to put us down whenever you are ready to get into 2012. We will be there March 10-17, 2012. Having on the front page list will be one more place in writing, which makes it that much more definite.

I can't wait for March 2012! :banana::banana::banana:

OK, I have dining questions and this is the BC/YC thread, but since many of you seem to be the Disney experts and this is where I've been reading I hope this is ok. :goodvibes

We are staying CL so will do breakfast in our room. Plus, since it's mid-August it will be hot. Now, we are from MI so are used to humidity but not the extreme heat. As a result, I don't think we'll eat much but want to check out some great restaurants while we are there.

On Monday Lauren and I are having lunch at CRT and as a family I think we are going to do the Pirates and Pals Cruise (may cancel).

At AKL, I think we are going to try Boma the day we are at the park.
How is Cape May? Figured we may as well try it since we'll be at the BC. What are some good restaurants at Epcot that we can walk to?

Finally, our plan is a low key vacation with lots of swimming, relaxing, park hopping, and DH and I want to head to Jellyrolls. Are there any fun things you recommend? I'm overwhelmed. :scared1:

You are smart to stay CL. I won't do Disney in the summer without it!!! We have gone the last 2 Junes and headed down this August as well. AKL in the summer - well look out. There are few places with shade and the park being so big, it is so hot. We tend to avoid AK in summer months. DD is 12 and it is just too hot for all of us. We are in PA (I use to live in detroit though!) Cape May gets rave reviews for dinner, we are trying it for the 1st time. We love FLying Fish on the boardwalk. It is a delicious restaurant. Our favorite. Ijust love the whole YC/BC area. In fact we are only doing 2 days at the parks this summer and spending the rest of the week at YC. Plenty to do - mini golf at night, movies DTD, rent a waterboat early in the morning. If you have never been to Disney in the summer honestly it is like your head is in an oven. I love Epcotin the summer b/c it is mostly AC!!!!
