2011 Holiday Tour. Who has booked and when?

I just booked this morning for Dec. 23. There will be 12 of us ranging in age from 5 to 70. So excited! This will be our 4th year taking the tour. I love it! :santa:

Oh thats so cool that you're traveling in a group like that! When we went in October there were 10 of us (7 months - 61) and it was so much fun and also so special!

Have fun!

Does anyone know if they book for Christmas Day? I called and all they said was we won't know until 30 days in advance and 8:00 a.m.

Also, has anyone had the experience of calling 30 days in advance and the tour spots sold out?

Just a little stressed because we would only have one more day to book if I don't get us booked the first try. I just always like our vacations to go as perfect as possible. LIttle anal, I know. :-)

I am in the same boat as you but with Fantasmic. We want to do the F dessert package on 12/25, which is our last day in the parks.

I called right at 8:00 this morning to book the tour. I had no problems. The CM told me that I was the first to book the tour for 12/23. I asked him about booking Fantasmic. He said that as long as I call at 8:00, I won't have any problems booking.

If you call at 8:00, you won't have any trouble. Remember too, there are 2 tours each day, and several tour groups for each tour. Good luck!

We took the tour a few days ago. It was rainy, and there were only about 7 other people on it besides us. Still a lot of fun.

:woohoo: Yay! So glad for you. :goodvibes

Thanks Rentayenta, enjoy your tour with your son.

Woo hoo! I hope you have a great time!

I am sure we will, thanks kirstie.

Yes!!!

You know, on a side note, I find that a great deal of the fun of going to DLR is the planning and anticipation! Sometimes, by the last week before my trip, I get kind of down and I finally figured out that I miss all of the planning and when the planning is done I worry that my trip won't live up to all of my thinking about it! So far that has not happened. Now that I understand that the process is as much a part of the fun as the trip, I don't worry so much in that last week like I used to.

Hope you have a great time!!

I think you a right. I love the planning, I feel a little lost! I think half the fun is knowing that a trip is imminent. Sadly before we know it, it will be over. Enjoy your trip.

@Disneymom23: The CM couldn't tell me if they were going to offer the tour, let alone two of them. Glad to hear that you were able to get your spots.

My plan is to call at 8:00. I just get too wrapped up in planning, I know. But it has always paid off in the past. I was this anal in our 2008 trip and everything went as planned except for one motel snafu that we didn't notice what a dive it was until we were leaving in the daylight. LOL. We still laugh about it to this day.

Good luck with your Fantasmic booking and Happy Thanksgiving.

Hi cp11

I am of the understanding that a Holiday Tour is offered with each running of the parade so if it is happening on Christmas Day there would be a tour.

I rang right on 8am 30 days out and there was no problem. They run more than one group for each tour of the day, just make sure you ring at 8am. My theory is that if I am calling first thing and I miss out then atleast I tried.

Enjoy your trip. Enjoy Christmas Day at the parks.

Thanks so much. My plan is 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. Can't wait!

Well, just booked for 8 of us on Dec 25 at 3:00.

Woke up, set everything up, coffee, etc., starting calling, kept getting message to call during business hours.

Hubby finally said to call at 9:00, see if that made a difference. It did. They opened at 9:00 today instead of 7:00. LOL. I'm a happy camper now. That was one of the final things we needed to get booked.

Now just waiting for the countdown.:santa:

I just booked on December 9th at noon. So excited!

Just as a note for others who may need it, I'm allergic to wheat, so unable to eat the gingerbread cookie. While booking my tour, I asked about options and was told that they should easily be able to accommodate that, and that I just needed to tell our tour guide at the beginning of the tour.

I'm ridiculously excited.

It's great when the final pieces come together and very excited that you got Christmas Day.

I'm glad it worked out for you. Weird about the time though. When I called on the 23rd for Dec 23rd, I called at 8:00 and got through right away. Are you on Pacific time?

Yesterday, I forgot to call for Fantasmic seats. I remembered around 1:00 in the afternoon. I was sure that we would be out of luck. Twelve people for Christmas night. I was shocked that when I called, they had seats available for both showings. :cool1:

Disneymom23, I just booked for the 23rd as well; the 3:00 tour. It is just dh and I. My teens had no interest and I had no interest in paying $50+ bucks for kids who weren't interested!!!!

When are you doing Fantasmic? We are on the 22nd for the 9pm show

Julia

We will be on the same tour. There will be 12 of us so we'll be pretty easy to spot! We are doing Fantasmic on the 25th at 9:00.

We are going to Disneyland NYE and I'd really like to do this tour. However we plan to enter the park at open and not leave because I've read so many warnings about reaching capacity and not being able to get back in. If I leave the park to pick up our tour tickets, I could be out of luck getting back in. Is there a way to pick up the tickets inside the park? What time does Guest Services open? Thanks in advance for the help! This tour sounds amazing!

EDIT - I WAS TOTALLY WRONG!!

I am lucky you posted this because I was convinced that the CM I made our reservation with said we meet at the tour garden, and just have our confirmation number. I am so glad you posted this although I don't know how to help you!
