2011 Holiday Tour. Who has booked and when?

We (myself, DH and DS-15) did the tour on Monday Nov 14th and were in the first group of the 2011 Holiday season! It was a lot of fun and we learned some interesting things about Disney holiday traditions and holiday traditions around the world. We got a piece of fudge from the candy store on main street and a gingerbread man and a travel mug of hot chocolate from Clarabelle's in Toontown. We went on HMH, rode the train, then went on It's A Small World Holiday. We then got to see the official lighting ceremony for Small World, even though it had already been lit for 2 days . We then watched the first showing of the Holiday Parade from the reserved seats and got a special pin to commemorate our tour.
Our tour guide Brit did an awesome job. He was funny and knew his stuff. At the very end we found out that this was his very first tour on his own! We got to watch him get his tour guide "D" pin from his supervisor and all of his fellow guides were there to witness it as well, it was a neat thing to be a part of!
Overall, it was a great way to end our Disneyland trip!

I would leave atleast at an hour. I would probably look at 6.45 to 7pm bookings

did you get your ressies made? which one are you going on? we are on the 3pm....myself and DD 11 and a DIS friend and her DD 16...maybe we will be on the same tour!

Does anyone know how long the parade lasts? I can't remember!! I wanted to make a reservation at BB for dinner but the latest ressie they have is 6:40 (they close at 8). If the parade starts at 5:30 and we have to make our way through the crowd afterward, do you think we'll be able to make it?

they are usually 15-20 min....but you have to factor in where you are sitting and where they start it Main st or IASW....make sure you are sitting on the correct side of the parade so you can get to BB easier you shouldn't have anyproblems making a 640

Are you watching the parade from main street or with the tour seating by IASW?? We were in the tour seating and it didn't make it to us until right before 6:00pm and it felt like longer than 20 minutes for the whole thing to pass by, possibly even 30 minutes? I would say it would be pretty close if that were the case.

I think a 7-year-old would do fine on it. There's not do much downtime in between things to see and rides to go on. Maybe the first hour would go by a little slower for him or her, but after that shouldn't be too bad. Once you make it to Haunted Mansion, it goes more quickly from there.

We did the same tour date and time as duckwife, but not in Brit's group, we had Nathaniel. I don't have much to add to her review as she included all the important details. We loved Nathaniel and it was our first time, so it was fantastic. You couldn't beat the reserved seats for the parade, the treats and keepsake pin and cup were all nice touches. I would definitely do it again, but not with a 4-year-old. Don't let that deter you from taking your kids, my nephew's ants in his pants were just a little distracting to me

I do have pictures and will post what I can asap! I left my camera with my sister when we returned, so I have to collect before I can unload!

Anytime! They were definitely a great part of our experience!! We're going back in February with just adults (whew!) and I would love to do the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. Funny enough, I learn more from disboards than I could ever learn with their tours. Everyone here is just so dis-smart

Just confirmed for the 3:00 tour so we may see you there! Its me, DD 4.5, DS (9 months) and my mom! I'm so looking forward to it!
