2011 Free Dining is Extended! New dates as of 8/3

However, if you book a discounted room, when you add free dining to your reservation the room discount will be removed in favor of the free dining. You can participate in only one discount per reservation.

Question: Right now we are holding a value resort package with park tickets and Plus Dining. If they extend the FD package, traditionally the value resorts get QS meals. However, you have the option to upgrade to TS (plus dining). On the flip side, moderate resorts have traditionally come with TS when the FD was released. Did anyone run the numbers in 2010 for what the difference is between Moderate/Plus Dining and Value/Upgrade Plus Dining? If the cost is the same, wouldnt most people just book the Moderate (assuming they want the table service)?

For us to stay at a moderate even if we upgraded the plan it would be 550.00 more for 10 days. We didn't upgrade the plan beacuse we prefer the QSDP so in my eyes it was still going to cost us 750.00 more to stay at a moderate. We do have 2 Ts meals planed which would cover the upgrade but we prefer to be almost adr free. Plus one of the meals is t-rex and the other is Tusker house for the characters. One is on the plan the other is not.

With the money we are saving we are doing lots of extra stuff Pirates League, Hairwraps, Cactures, build a dino and 2 Ts meals. That all is still cheaper than the 750.00 it would cost us. Then we would have to purchase mugs or place a order threw garden grocer for extra beverages and tips.

You just call the 407-W-Disney number and ask them if there are any discount codes attached to your name. Some CMs are nice about it and some are not so nice about it.

Help please. :goodvibes

When free dining is offered....what is the shortest amount of nights you have to stay to be eligible?

Someone just asked me this question and for the life of me.....I can't remember. :confused3

3 night minimum, 14 day maximum

So you don't have to stay for 5 nights like the current offer says, that's just an example? That would be so great because if free dining is offered in December my check-in date of Dec. 9 will most likely be blacked out and I'll be staying exactly 3 nights as of Dec. 11 when the offer will most likely not be blacked out! The ideal situation (given the likely possibility of blackout dates) would be to get a room only discount for the first two nights and book a package with free dining from Dec. 11 for three nights.

Just reading the last pages of this thread and wanted to know - do you have to have the Disney VIsa to possibly get a FD pin code or is it completely random for anyone who has a reservation?

TIA
Lisa

When I called the other day I was told that was an example. I thought I was going to have to add one more day to our trip to get the free dining. But she told me 3 nights is the minimum.

No one knows what the future booking or guidelines will be, but in the past and for the current free dining offer, the minimum booking is 3 night.

Ha! Sorry, but that made me laugh. Disney Visa isn't really good for anything but giving you a jump (maybe a few days) on general public offers and for racking up points for Disney spending money.

I have had a Disney Visa for years and that's the only benefits I feel like we have gotten with the card. What's sad is most of the time by the time they send out their emails about their promotions, most of them are already out for the general public.

We have seriously talked about getting rid of that card.

I just read on another thread that the FD dates have been released (sort of) for the rest of the fall.

They are saying that the codes go into effect Aug 3. :thumbsup2

Ok, assuming that information is correct, i have a question.

My stay will be 11/27-12-6
That thread shows FD November 27, 2011 - December 3, 2011

Do I get it for all days? Even those past the 3rd?
