**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful reviews! I am very excited about our first Food & Wine trip in only 19 days!!! We'll be there on Halloween to see my favorite band, Hanson! I've heard their lines are insane though... how loud is the music? I hate to spend all day long in a line and honestly, I'll be happy if I can just hear them (I've been front row enough times before)... I was wondering about to which countries you can hear the music at? Thanks so much & I can't wait to post some pictures when we get back!

Saw them last year. There were no lines. Plenty of room and the music wasn't loud at all.

Really? Someone on here told me that people start lining up at 1:00 for them.

The lines depend on who is actually performing. If you don't get in to the theater you can hang out in front of the American Adventure Pavilion and hear everything just fine. I expect it will be more crowded on the weekend dates though. Personally I don't spend my time waiting in line for the musical entertainment anymore. If I happen to be in the area and can get into the theater & get a seat I'm fine with that. Otherwise I hang out in the general area and listen if it's a group I want to hear. You can hear somewhat towards Japan & Italy but after that the distance is too far. You might hear the music but not necessarily be able to figure out what the actual songs are.

Or people like me lining up at 1:00 to run as far away as possible...maybe someday there will be a decent act or two at F&W.

It's always nice finding other Hanson fans around :) I went to the second day of their shows last year at F&W. My friends and I decided we wanted to try and get front row for the first show, so we lined up around 1:30-2. However, the line did not get long at all probably until at least 3 or so. The first two shows were easy to get into. We decided to stand outside in line for the third show during the second show, and we were able to see and hear everything from the line. The third show was by far the most filled, I think they did have to cut the line off by the end, and the theater was packed. But anyone walking by is still able to see/hear most of the show. Good luck, and have fun!

Just returned as well :). We had a great time despite the rain on Sat. and Sunday. Attended the PFTS on 10/8, and it was amazing. The past two years we've done the WVL, but didn't do it this year.We did not miss it one bit. There were plenty of tables available, so no need to worry abound finding one. The food was great, and pours were generous. Still thinking about the Kobe shortrib:goodvibes

Are they doing book signings this year? If so, how do you know when & where? I'm going to Robert Irvine's Kitchen Memories, & I'd love to get a signed copy of one of his books!

There are folks lined up HOURS in advance for EVERY band at Epcot......

Those are the die hard fans who want to be on the FRONT row!

In years of doing concerts at Epcot.. Only time I got 'blocked out' Beach Boys. I don't line up. I just walk in right as it starts :)

Hi All!! Does anyone know what the menu is for Alan Wong's Kitchen Memories on 10/14? Thanks

:flower3:

The menus for these events are not released ahead of time. You won't see it until the event itself.

They start giving out wristbands for book signings at park opening in the Festival Center. Get there EARLY for Irvine. Usually if he doesn't have something else scheduled he is glad to stay and keep signing - but the Disney folks may not even let you get in line if you don't have a wristband.

Okay, thanks. I am lactose intolerant and did not want to spend all that money on things that I cannot eat.

Is there a schedule for book signings somewhere? I couldnt find one. TIA

The book signing schedule is published in the Weekly Guides. These are available in the Festival Center and Merchandise Markets in World Showcase. Probably other places also.

I would have thought if you told them that at time of booking they would work around it wouldn't they or don't they for special events?

They might be able to. Or they might not.

For some events if they are told on arrival they can produce substitute dishes. I think that works best for events that take place in the actual restaurants. Not sure how well that works when dealing with the Festival Center.

As Nala said, most of the restaurants are quite accommodating if you let them know ahead of time. I've tried having them make notations when making the original reservations & have been told to call the restaurant 3 days in advance. When trying this we haven't had much luck. Last year we even had them make a note of it a week ahead of time in person at Bistro but it apparently got lost somewhere along the way. When we reminded them as they were serving the food they took care of it. This year I plan to remind them upon check-in. Mom can not have seafood, and nuts or seeds of any type. Try getting something in Italy that meets those criteria without being specially prepared. Somehow they just don't seem to understand that Tomatoes have seeds.

Hey all!

I can only drink a very limited amount of alcohol so I want to be sure to get the BEST options out there. Anyone have any must do drinks from the booths? Right now I know I want to try the Raspberry Wine at the Korean booth and something from the Champagne booth (what is the difference between them anyway besides price?). I also want to try Saki but will go into the Japan store to do so for a better selection.

Anything else I shouldn't miss? How about the Sparkling Pomegranate Kir at the France Booth?

Thanks all! Two more days and I am at Disney!

really enjoyed the Happy Lychee at the China booth :)

Many thanks to thoe who answered my questions about the concerts!! I do want to see them but not set on being up at the front. I saw NKOTSB this summer and was fine not being right up front!
