Had a meeting with the radiation doctor this afternoon. I start radiation 4/25 so starting 4/24, I'll be working Saturdays and Sundays instead of Sundays and Mondays. This will go on for six weeks.

Here's hoping those six weeks fly by.

Have a wonderful time on 4/21 with Jeanne and Bob. That's a lucky day - it's my grandson's birthday!

Teena: that is so wonderful you get to vacation for a couple of days at the beach club..Hope you and the family have a wonderful time! :cool2:

Teena, my husband and I will be thinking about you as you go through the radiation sessions. Make sure you get PLENTY of rest, or trust me, your body will find a way to get it from you. (I think someone mentioned passing out at dinner before, and I can attest to the fact that if you push it w/ chemo/radiation, it will bite you in the bum!)

We look forward to hearing some great news from you in a few months!

Thanks for all the good advice and well wishes. You all have helped so much!

In regards to the kiddie pool, is there a height limit? I am not confident enough that DS can swim to the ropes when sliding down the slide and I would prefer he stick with the kiddie area.

Hi Gang!

First---Teena, I'm so excited about your stay at BC!!! The 21st is a GREAT day, indeed, because that is also my Sophie's 6th birthday! You are such an incredible trooper and I can't wait for all of this to be behind you so that you can get back to your normal and be well rested for Peanut!!!!

Second---I just came across a picture of THE big toaster everyone keeps talking about! It was completely coincidental as I was searching for a pic of the Beaches & Cream burger that everyone says is so big. Go here to see it:

I'm still a newbie, so I hope it's ok to post that link. I visit the DIS several times a day and would be devastated if the DIS po-po came after me and shut me down! :scared1:

Cheers to all that we're one day closer to the weekend and one day closer to Disney!!!!!

, Alice'

Our pre-schooler and our pre-teens enjoy the little slide - and so do I! I did ask the lifeguard on duty last summer and she said it was fine for everyone to use the slide.

Thanks for the update, Teena. Hugs to you from all of us! :grouphug:

Is he OCD? I don't say that being mean, just curious. I'm a last minute packer because if I weren't, I would take EVERYTHING out and redo it thinking I missed something. :upsidedow
yes he is. And he will double check things at the airport. Even after he has checked his list.

*******in order to "see" the picture i'm referring to, click on my link and then just click on the link to the right of the burger that says "see image below at..." and then scroll down to the 2nd or 3rd photo. Voila, the giant industrial mystical toaster.

So, we had the worst Disney trip this past December! It had nothing to do with DIsney itself, in fact everyone was so nice and helpful, especially at the BC. First of all, it was December, and mother nature was not kind to us. It was FREEZING! DD's terrible two's were out in full force the entire time we were there and on top of that, my older DD's got a stomach bug, which made us room bound for a few days. However, it's funnly how memories can be so short. About two weeks ago, my girls asked when we can go back so they can swim in that "awesome pool". I have been saying all along that we can't go back until the Fantasyland expantion is done. But, now I am back here reading these threads and that silly little bug is back in my ear! Not sure I can get DH to agree to another trip, but maybe I should start trying.........;);)

Well my DS is 26 and my dd is 17 and they both have to make up their bed everyday.

And clean the bathroom (pick up everything and wipe down the counter) everyday!

I am the evil Step-Mom
I am evil Step-Mom too but I swear, how can they make such a mess in one day??

OMG - my girls job - in addition to keeping their own rooms clean - is to clean the three bathrooms each week. You can't imagine the amount of complaining that goes on here each Saturday. They are my natural daughters, not step daughters. but they act like I am the Evil StepMother and they are both Cinderella!

Ah, I can imagine, I have a DD 14 who is a princess.... she can complain!!

As a healthcare professional, I always stress to folks...advocate, advocate, advocate!!!! The insurance companies do not have healthcare professionals doing approvals. They are clerks who don't have the knowledge to understand the seriousness of the need. Be a pain in the neck, call with questions, don't be put off, ask to speak to a supervisor, speak up for your rights/needs. (sorry, I get very passionate about this!)

Good luck on Wednesday. You know you have many!!! women on this thread who are pulling for you. Take care of yourself.

I am a healthcare professional too and I so agree with you!! Call, harass (nicely), speak up the ladder, do your research and know your stuff!! Insurance companies drive me crazy!

Have you looked into the online companies who will take old concert / college / etc t-shirts and make them into a quilt? That was my solution for my husband's MASSIVE shirt collection. It looks awesome, with one of his original basic training Army shirts in the middle!

I think I found them on Uncommon Goods' website, and I'm more than happy to PM you the link if you want.

:goodvibes

PM me please! I have been saving the kids shirts to do exactly this that way I can get rid of everything else! Have enough for a quilt each so far! My mom did this for my brother and his fiance for their upcoming marriage, All their shirts from college from first met to all the activities they did together, it's actually pretty neat.

That happened to us!!! Except our vacation was in August, during Tropical Storm Faye and it rained for most of our vacation. And my son was sick, too, for a lot of that trip. My husband declared "We are NEVER going to Disney in the summer again" on the plane ride home. Lo and behold, a few months later the boys were looking at their photo albums and my husband booked the first of our two July trips to the Beach Club!

Fingers crossed for a similar story for you!

Faye was 2008, right? I think that was the storm we drove down to Kiawah, SC through right before our wedding. Best part of that, though? As soon as we drive onto the island, in the pouring down rain, the following happens:

DH: Can you even see?
Me: Just barely....wait... was that a deer that just ran across the road?
DH: It was! Wow, and... *&^%... was that an alligator that just ran after it?
Me: *slams breaks*

I kid you not, the thing ran across the street nearly on two legs, chasing after the deer. I did not want to get out of the car to go in the front door, and almost slept in the car that night for fear of speedy gonzalagator getting me.
:lmao:

Why thank you! For those of you wondering, this dog is a pure bred "American Sofa Hound". He is considered to be a "service" dog because he keeps other people from sitting on your furniture, which he considers to be strictly his.

His hobbies include laying on his left side, laying on his right side and eating.

Here is a rare photo of this dog in "action"....

:laughing: Yeah, we have one of those sofa dogs too, a yellow lab, Sally. And 2 sofa cats
But I got her one of those round Costco dog beds, and after circling around it for, oh, a year, she now loves it, and can't get her out off it! Unless she hears the milk bone can!

Thank you everyone. It seems we had a miscommunication about Club Level and the beds. We have 3 adults going (DH, my, and my mom) and then DD3 and DS who will be in a PnP). We just need 2 queens though a daybed would be a bonus for DD though not needed. Once we got on the same page about needs we are set! Now I just need to decide between Standview and Garden View. The daybed is not as big of an issue as the full balcony (she has it in as our ONLY request) but which category would give us a better chance to get one?

If a balcony is that important, you might want to consider YC. You will be guaranteed a balcony, and then you can request a daybed.

HILARIOUS!!!

Yup, August 2008.

All I have is a sofa-son!
