Well I am sad to report that my May trip to BCV has been moved to BWV.:guilty::sad2: I know nothing about BWV but we had to more since the number of people has changed in our party and that is the only 1 bedroom we could get.:sad1:

I am so disappointed right now..... I wanted to stay BCV so bad and had everything planned out that I wanted to do and then a person that I will not name.... Decided to throw a wrench into my plans, and makes me change my resort...... UGHHHHHHH. Family what can I say...:headache:
so sorry to hear:sad1: you've been so diligent updating those 'month lists' on here... I hope it ends up being a marvelous stay nonetheless! I just loved the Boardwalk area in general:)

Option #2: Beg him to go shopping with you for the "perfect dress/shoes/underwear/perfume/etc." He will usually find a way to lose himself.

:rotfl: That one is perfect. Making them think it is their idea works like a charm!

thanks for the great thread - have just booked the Beach Club for October 2012 after reading this for the last few months. Did want to book the Yacht club (like my balcony) but the Beach Club was on sale here in the UK with free ddp for next year and the Yacht Club isn't yet so plumped for the Beach :)

I swear I can't keep up with all the pages...I need more hours in the day...
Update...Just found out that the past three weeks they were supposed to be doing the genetic testing, they were not because of insurance issues...I got that squared away this morning...they should of notified us sooner. They've had the sampl since 3/18, they just told the Dr's office on 3/31????:confused3 Really annoyed when I found out on 4/1 & couldn't call anyone til this morning...let's just say lllooong weekend.
Then I just got a call from DHMC(2nd opinion) that they had their radiologist review the MRI and he did not like what he saw in a LEFT auxillary(lump is in my RIGHT). So, I will have an ultrasound on Wed. after all my other appts.:sad2:
Now off to read 100 pages it feels like:surfweb: Wish I could have coffee:rotfl:

Dee - Is your son 12? If so I have his long, lost sister separated at birth!
I was just getting laundry out of 12 year old dd's room. What did I see - her sports bag with her clothes and sneakers for after school track. I only asked her 10 times this morning if she packed her track bag.

I've long suspected she was switched at birth. I am super organized and a neat freak. Sadly dd is neither.

Hmmm... Yes he IS 12! You may have something there. Maybe we should stake out Le Cellier or Ohana and see if one of the moms who didn't make their dining reservations 180 days in advance possibly misplaced a couple of kiddos in the summer of 1998.

I am sorry to hear that! I'm sure you will have a wonderful stay at BWV and you still have the October trip to BCV, right?

Haven't been on in forever. Life got busy, but just wanted to say again, how wonderful the first page is. I enjoyed getting on today and just scrolling through all those great pictures and information!! thanks again!! We have 52 days until we leave (driving so won't get there until the next night late) but we are so excited!!

as for the 12yo. Well, I've determined that's the life of a 12yo. My oldest are 12 and 14 now, good kids, usually remember things but sometimes..... LOL

Thanks for the very kind words about the thread. Fortunately there are a lot of knowledgable people who hang out around here and have helped improve and enhance the info and provide helpful pictures.

Sorry to hear about some of your medical headaches. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for you when you are waiting for answers.

@ Marlton Mom- great tips for Teena! I'm sure she will find them enlightening!

Okay, only being home for 8 days and I cannot help but think of our next Disney Vacation. I really, really liked the BCV but I am always up for new things. Next time we go my kids will be 13/10 or 14/11. We have talked about staying at Bay lake Tower to be close to MK but as they get older I think they enjoy HS more. I know I have time but any opinions would be nice. We did love Stormalong Bay too!!!

My kids slept on a pull-out bed last year. We were surprised by how comfortable the pull-out was.

Because the one bed in the BCV 1-BR is a king, our DD18 will be relegated to the queen-size sofa bed in the living area. Whenever we go on vacation, I always ask if she'd prefer me to book a room with 2 queens, but she always says she'd prefer her own private sleep area to a more comfortable bed. (This is why we usually end up at a place like Embassy Suites.) When we were at OKW in '06, she mentioned that the sofa bed there was exceptionally comfortable because it didn't have that bar that runs across the middle of one's back that you get on most of those pull-outs. Are the sofa beds at BCV of a similar design?

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a couple weeks and just want to say what a great thread!!

I have a couple questions about BCV... Right now we are booked in a standard view 1BR villa at BWV through rented points. This Friday the 7 month window opens up & the DVCer we rented through is planning to try to switch us to BCV. As of last week there was still availability. I'm so excited to bring the kids to Stormalong Bay but I'm a little worried about the condition of the villas.

Can you reassure me that we're making the right choice? Are the villas really as "tired" and "outdated" as I've read in a few places? Is there a HUGE difference in the quality of the rooms at BCV & BWV?

Thanks!!

Gosh, I hope you get reassuring responses to your questions, because our family is booked at BCV also, for late May. I almost went with another resort but picked BCV because of SAB (for DD), the picturesque YC/BC/BW area, and the proximity to DHS and Epcot. I too hope we've made the right choice! The community on this board is certainly supportive of this resort, so I am fairly confident, but with all of the $$$ involved I can't help but be a bit nervous.

He they must have another sibling here in Kentucky! My DS is so disorganized and absent minded. He grabed his our brand new t shirts that I am going to make in to Disney trips and started putting in the Going to Good Will bag. That was after he poured sweet tea over his rice krispy cereal this morning. P.S. does your twelve year old leave things all over the place also?

She tries to, but the neat freak in me makes her pick up every day.
Apparently I am also the meanest mother in the world, because I am
the only mother who makes her children make their beds and pick up
their room every day before school.

Oh how they love mousekeeping in Disney!

Well my DS is 26 and my dd is 17 and they both have to make up their bed everyday.

And clean the bathroom (pick up everything and wipe down the counter) everyday!

I am the evil Step-Mom

Such a horrible, horrible, person. :lmao:Lately my nieces (6 & 4) have taken to declaring they MUST be adopted, because their REAL mom would never make them clean up after playing with a gazillion toys in the living room which Auntie Jen has sprained her ankle on TWICE!

I love those girls.....:rotfl2:

OMG - my girls job - in addition to keeping their own rooms clean - is to clean the three bathrooms each week. You can't imagine the amount of
complaining that goes on here each Saturday. They are my natural daughters, not step daughters. but they act like I am the Evil StepMother
and they are both Cinderella!

Been there and done that.... you Evil StepMom....:laughing::laughing:

As a healthcare professional, I always stress to folks...advocate, advocate, advocate!!!! The insurance companies do not have healthcare professionals doing approvals. They are clerks who don't have the knowledge to understand the seriousness of the need. Be a pain in the neck, call with questions, don't be put off, ask to speak to a supervisor, speak up for your rights/needs. (sorry, I get very passionate about this!)

Good luck on Wednesday. You know you have many!!! women on this thread who are pulling for you. Take care of yourself.

This is too funny. My dgs spend several weeks with us each summer. They are now 6 &7. Once they were potty trained (by Grandma, each at age 3 while visiting us) I made a rule. The boys were responsible for cleaning their bathroom everyday. I have the Clorox or whatever wipes and they wipe out the sink and around the toilet. I told them Grandma doesn't clean up little boys oopses, they need to. They also now do this at home. This way the cleaning ladies won't run out in horror at their messes!:rotfl2:

I think it has been easier with them than my dds.
