Hello! Can anyone describe the bus service at the Beach Club? How long is an average wait for the bus? How long is the average ride to the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom? Is it a long wait to get a bus when leaving the Magic Kingdom after the fireworks? Also I realize that one could walk through Epcot to the monorail and take that to the Magic Kingdom....does anyone know the total time this would take? Also, if you stayed till close at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot was closed, I assume you could not take the monorail back and walk through Epcot. I will be going with my husband and our three kids ages 12, 10, and 7. Thanks for your information and advice!

I can't wait, just over 3 weeks until the YC!!! I know time will go by fast as my husband has surgery set for this Friday.

Does anyone know the Resort Route for ME? As of now I am allowing 2 hours for the trip from MCO to BCV, is that realistic? TIA

I've ordered room service at YC before. It was very good and the portions were very large. I remember a pork chop dinner that was better than I thought it would be and the steak was good too. My son ordered the large cheese pizza and loved it! It was alot quicker than I expected too.

Sounds like my plan for the first night will work just fine. Thanks for the input!

We've enjoyed most things we've ordered from room service. My son has often ordered the fish special of the day and has always been very happy with it. I agree that service is very good.

I'm a fish type of person, so this is great to hear. Thanks for the info!

Thinking of room service, I have this question: at the Beach Club, where is room service coming from? I'm thinking of breakfast one morning. . .

Excuse the silly questions, our first YC stay is in two weeks. I know that everyone is supposed to have their room key for SAB entrance but where do you check-in with it? Do you go to the front desk to get a wristband or show it to a lifeguard? Or do you just need it to unlock the gate around the pool?

And the Kiddie Cruise that is offered at YC... has anyone had their child do this? Wondering how many CM there are vs. number of kids on each cruise and where all do they go on their cruise?

TIA!

The Albatross Cruise is an absolute favorite of my DS. He really loves the part when they go into Epcot before WS opening and pretend to be sneaking in. The CMs tell them to be very quiet and walk softly so that no one hears them and knows they are there because they are sneaking in before opening. They actually get off the boat in Canada and then go across the lagoon and get off again in Mexico finding clues as to the whereabouts of the "treasure".

It's actually fun as an adult if you see one of these boats go out to hang around for a little while and hear the kids yelling "arrrrgggghhh"! Sometimes I wish I could go!!

I think the bus service at BC is just about the same as bus service at any Disney resort. We've never waited more than 20 minutes for a bus - and that's only if we just missed a bus. The CMs at the BC bus stop are usually very good at making sure that guests are not waiting too long. I always appreciate a CM out at the bus stop - and last month, we met some great college program CMs (just training) and they were very fun! I timed the bus from BC to MK and I think it was slightly less than 15 minutes when the bus was too full for a BWI stop and about 18 minutes with the BWI stop. I can't recall the distance to AK, but I think it was approximately 15 minutes (including the BWI stop.) I can't comment on the post-fireworks wait for a bus at MK because we're usually in Epcot at fireworks time!

Yes, if you stay at MK until after Epcot closes, the monorail/walk route does not work. You would need park hoppers and to arrive before Epcot closing time to go through the front gates and walk to the International gateway.

The last two times we took ME to BC (July 2010 and February 2011) the route was Port Orleans, Boardwalk and then BC. I think allowing 2 hours from landing to arrival at BC is about right. (We've had better luck than that in the past, but I think approx. 2 hours is a relatively safe estimate!)

Wow - I didn't realize it would take that long... Not that it's a problem.
We've taken ME to the Poly - don't recall stopping anywhere - and I know it was less than 1.5 hrs from landing and we were at our resort. Same with WL.
Thanks for asking/answering this question - I'll allow extra time. (Not that we have to be anywhere - but I'll be there ahead of my family due to a 4 day business conference and will meet them at the BCV after. Now I won't have to rush over there to meet them...)

Can someone post the March movie schedule and campfire/movie times. Will be there next week!

We took ME to the Poly in January of this year and it's super fast because (at least in our experience) Poly is the first stop. We took ME to WL in 2009, and had the same experience - it was the first stop for us. Again, we've arrived at BC faster than 2 hours, but when we are trying to budget time I usually try to overestimate! When meeting others, we just stay in contact because it could be less than 2 hours.

I called today and I had the free dining PIN attached to my name. I put my reservation for the Beach Club (garden view) on hold for July 30-August 3. I wish there was a room discount for this time!!

Talking it over with my sister...

Good to know - thank you!

First, Hockeymom, we just returned from our boys' friend's hockey game and WOW is that fun! :)

Just catching up again.....hockey is certainly fun. Playoffs this weekend! :goodvibes

Today we walked to Epcot and I noticed that the BC has identical new balcony/patio furniture. :cool1:

We are having fun, thanks.:goodvibes

You got me at the "walked to Epcot" :) Such good news about the balcony furniture. Hope you are still having a great time!

Well I went back and checked and the WDW site does have the deluxe rooms back to $15 less than waterview. Mousesavers still has the deluxe rooms more than waterview rooms, which was the case when we booked.

My Mom is holding her own, it's still day to day.

Good news about the dlx room, glad to hear they have not caught on yet. Love that room. Just received the free dining pin code. Maybe if I am lucky dlx room would be available.

Sorry to hear about your mom.

Teena,

Wishing you the best tomorrow. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers daily.

Robyn,

Keeping your mom and your family in my thoughts and prayers daily.

My older 2 did the kiddie cruise in August and loved it! I think the cruise was pretty maxed out - maybe 10-12 kids with 2 CMs. The CMs were great and had everything under control.

I'm glad to hear such good experiences with the Albatross cruise! We think our two daughters would enjoy this and thought it would be a perfect activity to do the morning we transfer from Pop to Beach Club...while the kids are out on their cruise, DH and I can check out the resort :cloud9:

I have read that the kids get snacks....do they get lunch also? TIA!

I usually get this info from the Build a Better Mousetrip website- they have not updated the listing yet, but they should be doing that in the next day or two.
