Yes, there are both CL and non CL water view rooms that do not overlook SAB. Some of the non CL water view rooms overlook the quiet pool. None of the CL water view rooms look over the quiet pool.

You can request anything you want and "not overlooking SAB" would be fine. As far as CL water view rooms, that eliminates about half of the rooms. Just remember, requests are not guaranteed.
Thank you, you've been very helpful:)

Does anyone know the square footage difference between a BC Standard and Deluxe room? Is the bathroom/sink area of the Deluxe room identical to that of a Standard room?

We stayed in a deluxe cl room in 2009. The bathroom/sink area is identical to a standard room. I believe that the standard room is 381 sq. ft and the deluxe is 540 sq. ft. Just to warn you though, a large amount of the extra sq. feet is a foyer area. There is also a bigger amount of space between the beds and the daybed.

HTH.

Thanks for the extra detail! We are staying in one of these rooms (in 18 days!!!) and chose it so that we could store our son's wheelchair and eh would have turnaround space in the room when using his walker. Big foyers=space for w/c (usually) and space around the beds etc sounds like he should be able to be independent. Great!

Thanks so much. Did you mind not being on the 5th (CL) floor? And, do you recall if you had a connecting door in the room?

That seems like a great reason to select the deluxe room. Maybe you could post some photos when you return:hyper:. Have a great vacation:)

It was a little inconvenient not being on the 5th floor, but still doable.

Here is what we did. We would get ready in the morning and then hit the lounge for breakfast and head out straight for the parks after.

Lots of times in the early evening I would send DH up (they have trays) to get some appetizers for us, and maybe a glass of wine, while I helped get everyone ready to go out to dinner.

In the afternoons we usually stopped at the lounge when we got back to the parks to pick up some sodas and snacks before going back to the room to change for the pool.

We were in room 1557 and it was sooo convenient to the quiet pool and really close to EPCOT.

Twinmum - there is lots of space in the foyer area. You shouldn't have any problem storing your sons wheelchair there.

Have a wonderful trip!

Does anyone have any recent photos of a one bedroom unit? Pics I am seeing have the old TVs in the rooms and I have heard that they all have been upgraded with flat screens. Maybe I am wrong.

What room category would maximize my chance of getting a daybed? We currently are only 4 people (my husband may join later making 5) but regardless it would be very hard to sleep with my child for 7 days. Honestly, I can't do it I have tried and I feel selfish asking since we are just 4 people but I just can't sleep with all the motion, kicking, etc.. Right now we are booked SV CL but I would book a regular room if that would help. I cannot book a deluxe room because none are available with my code.

Thanks for any advice. :flower3:

ETA- I have not put in a request yet so I know I can call back and make a request. I asked when I made the reservation but the CM said "don't worry they all have daybeds in that category" but now I don't think that is true. Do all standard view CL rooms have daybeds?

Wow, it's been so warm/hot here the last couple of days, that I keep thinking about lounging around SAB!!!

I just can't help myself, and I still have over 2 months to wait, how am I going to get through it.

OK, back to reality................

Teena, we have a BCV reservation for October and we requested a 5th floor room with an Epcot view. I know since this is F&W this resort will be very popular. Do you know what the chances are of having a request like this fulfilled? We would much rather have a higher floor and the view would just be a bonus.

That is limiting your room to just a few and honestly since the BCV is always at 100% occupancy, the chance of one of those rooms on the fifth floor being vacated on the day you check in is slim. If the fifth floor is the most important thing to you, I'd probably take off the Epcot view part of it. Otherwise, they might try to get you that view and if the fifth floor room with that view isn't available, they could put you in one on the third floor. You have a much better chance of getting your request met if you were just to make one request (like fifth floor). And of course, there's no guarantee for that either unfortunately. Are you checking in early? Although the room may not be ready before 4 PM, if you check in early and ask the CM when you check in "Is the room on the fifth floor" and if they say "no", then you can tell them you really would like a fifth floor room and you don't care if you have to wait until check-in time for it. If you get there early, there is a better chance they can move you to another room. If you get there late and everybody else has checked in, there might not be a room to change you into.

BCV 23 - Hope you are enjoying the nice, warm weather and having a fantastic time!

To everyone who is worried about not getting a day bed, keep in mind there are some rooms with 2 queen beds that DO fit a rollaway just fine. When we did our Grand Gathering my mom share a room with my 3 oldest ds's. Although there were only four in a room they definitely needed a rollaway! The rollaway fit just fine and there was plenty of room.

The funny thing is that I would love to book a waterview CL room but they won't let a family of 5 book it even if though we would be willing to use the rollaway!

Teena - unfortunately Disney caught on and the deluxe cl room is now more expensive than the wv cl room. It was nice while it lasted - I know we LOVED the deluxe cl room!!!! Keeping you in my prayers.

You're kidding ... I never even looked at the price list that came out this year since it has always been lower than the water view. Darn!!!

There are more CL standard view rooms with daybeds than garden or water. No, the only category that have all daybeds is the deluxe room. Be prepared though, if you book a CL standard view, you will definitely have a roof or parking lot view. However, you would have a better chance of getting a daybed. Again, since you are a family of four, you certainly can request one but you probably won't get it unless it is during a slow time. However, just request a rollaway after you get to the room - call housekeeping. Even if it's one of the rooms that's a tight squeeze, those beds stand straight up when not in use ... put it against the wall somewhere.

Has anyone ordered room service and can speak as to the quality? Is there a good steak? As of right now, we would be arriving at around 7:30 pm and my kids usually go to bed around 8:00 pm. Ideally, I would like to check-in and order some room service, but I was wondering about the quality of it. Any feedback, good or bad?

When I checked today for July/August, the BC Deluxe room is $15 less/night than the CL/lagoon view.

Thanks Teena for your tips and advice about the daybeds. We did consider deluxe but it was a bit of a stretch on our budget. I couldn't even book a waterview CL because it only sleeps 4.It wouldn't come up on online registration when 5 people were entered but it would come up for 4 people when we did reservations way back.

I now notice that the Garden View CL description online registration area says this:
"All rooms have 2 queen-size beds or one queen-size bed,"

The standard CL online says this:
"Bedding combinations vary, and can be any one of the following: one queen-size bed and a day bed, 2 queen-size beds, 2 queen-size beds and a day bed, or one king-size bed."

I don't remember what it said when I made the reservations last summer. But in this description it does seem like a daybed is not mentioned for Garden View.

Of course there is conflicting information when you look at the Room Type and Pricing area in the resort description online. There, all of the CL descriptions say daybed as a possibility. There really is not Garden View room type listed for CL. In the description area there is a garden view mentioned for this type :Club Level with Concierge Service - Standard Room with Standard View. I believe this is what I made the reservation for because it was only 5 dollars more. I guess maybe they haven't changed this area to reflect Garden View room category change.

I will definitely take your advice Teena if we have don't get a daybed, remembering that you get more with sugar than vinegar and complaining with a smile goes a long way! If it is meant to be, it will be!

I've ordered room service at YC before. It was very good and the portions were very large. I remember a pork chop dinner that was better than I thought it would be and the steak was good too. My son ordered the large cheese pizza and loved it! It was alot quicker than I expected too.

Hi natebenma,
I made another SAB map for you to use in this thread, I cleaned it up a bit and added some additional info, if there is anything else you would like to see added to it let me know.

The map is fantastic! Thanks for making this and posting it. I'm just starting to get caught up on the board here, may take me a couple of days to make updates to the pages in between mounds of laundry, uploading almost 2000 photos :rolleyes1 from Mexico and getting the kids back into the school routine.

I have 2 questions. 1 for Teena S. and another in general.

Teena, we have a BCV reservation for October and we requested a 5th floor room with an Epcot view. I know since this is F&W this resort will be very popular. Do you know what the chances are of having a request like this fulfilled? We would much rather have a higher floor and the view would just be a bonus.

My other question is about DISplaying your love for the DIS at your resort. I thought I saw a thread once where folks from the DIS would put something on their room door or in their room window that was the color green to represent being a member of the DIS. Am I correct about this? TIA!!!

Teena is right on about the 5th floor. It has fewer villas than the other floors making it even harder to get....not that I request that floor.

As for the decorations, in many trips to BCV and a few to BC, I've only seen one door with a decoration (not for the DIS). I think it was popular at the mods and values for a time but there was so much damage/extra cleanup time for CMs that it is no longer allowed????

Have a great stay at BCV. We love it here.

BCV 23 - Hope you are enjoying the nice, warm weather and having a fantastic time!

Thanks! We are having a fun, relaxing stay and so enjoying the warm sun....and the flowers. Oh, my. :flower3: How is your mother doing?

Does BC have the new refillable mugs out yet? We are only going to be there a couple of days before our cruise and I wasn't going to purchase any but the new ones would really be nice to take along on our cruise. Thanks!

Still the old design today at least at the Marketplace.

Thanks just what I wanted to hear :thumbsup2

You're welcome. Enjoy! :surfweb:

Does anyone have any recent photos of a one bedroom unit? Pics I am seeing have the old TVs in the rooms and I have heard that they all have been upgraded with flat screens. Maybe I am wrong.

I don't have a photo for you but the TVs are flatscreens. There's one on about 10 ft from me right now. :goodvibes Photos may be misleading though as the TVs are placed inside the original armoires so there is lots of dead space behind the TV.

We've enjoyed most things we've ordered from room service. My son has often ordered the fish special of the day and has always been very happy with it. I agree that service is very good.

The map is fantastic! Thanks for making this and posting it. I'm just starting to get caught up on the board here, may take me a couple of days to make updates to the pages in between mounds of laundry, uploading almost 2000 photos :rolleyes1 from Mexico and getting the kids back into the school routine.

Welcome back. :grouphug: Hope you had a great trip. Good luck getting settled again.

Thinking of you, Teena. Great to see you again today.

Forced to spend an extra night at the Beach Club!!!

This is our first year flying out of the little airport by our house. Airtran only had an evening flight arriving in Orlando at 8:07p. In the past, we've flown a morning flight out of Newark and stayed in a hotel there the night before which is a big hassle. I decided next trip, we'll spend the night before at Pop!!!

So I booked Pop and booked the night before flight. Then Airtran (in Airtran fashion) changed my flight to an afternoon and added a 7am flight. This flight will get me into Orlando at 9:26 a.m. So... I spoke with my DCV owner and we added another night!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

So now we'll be arriving nice and early on the 1st and staying until the 11th!!! :scared1::scared1: Our longest trip ever.

I can't wait. And can't wait to spend a LOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG vacation at the Beach Club! :cheer2: Can't wait to meet you Teena! As always, you're in my prayers!
