Hi all! Just back from a week at bc (club level). I know on the front page it says that the day beds are guaranteed for families of 5, not sure if that is not the case - or we are just unlucky. We booked a garden view club level, we were given a handicapped accessible room with no day bed, I immediately asked to be moved to a room large enough to accomadate our family size (would have happily have been downgraded to a
Standard view) nothing available (actually long story but won't bore you all ;).
Next morning, asked to be moved - still no club level rooms with day beds available. We did move to a non handicapped accessible room that at least opened up the bathroom area. The room was small(not appropriate for 5 people), not even room for a chair in the corner. Of course we still had a wonderful time - it is Disney after all. But just wanted to let people know in case having a day bed was important (as it was for us) - you may be out of luck.

did you get a rollaway for your 5th person?

So - for those of you who have been to Yachtsman, done a Disney cruise or both, what do you think?

Been there, done both. Came off the ship and did a one night at WL a number of years ago. Eaten at Yachtsman twice now. Last day of cruise, quick breakfast on board, rush to get off ship, get on bus and head over to YC/BC, lay around the pool with a "hidden treeasure" in the afternoon and do a 7:30 dinner at Yachtsman, that would be the end of a beautiful vacation IMHO. Flying fish is great too if you prefer the fish to the steak, but I'd go for the beef myself. ESPN is fun if there is a sporting event you want to watch but not as relaxing as either of the two restaurants you mentioned (again IMHO).

Sorry to hear that they couldn't get you something for your family of five. No room on the dark side with what you needed? Must have been really crowded. Glad to hear though that you still made the best of the situation and had a goo time.

Hi all

Hoping someone can help as we have our first stay at BCV in May.

What drinks are at the station for the refillable mugs? Mostly interested if they have proper Hot Cocoa or the packets? Would handy to know which sodas are available too.

Thanks

We were offered a roll away, but opted aganst it. The room was small (you could touch the wall from one bed and the wall/balcony door from the other bed, so I am not really where it would have gone without having to climb over it. (we drive and come with lots if stuff ;) My husband opted for the floor instead.
Again, we had a great time - but the experience was deminished because of the room.
Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your room Jen....I know how much you were looking forward to BC. Love your good attitude though. We've had some 'bad' rooms before but always seemed to find the positives about the trip. ( What I could tell you about our pool view at AKL...more like the basement beside the laundry :faint:).

Thanks for reporting, JenLittle and good question, cepmom - I was wondering the same thing. We have BC CL Garden View booked in August and we're also a family of five. We've always had the daybed at BC, but good to know we'll get the rollaway in case that doesn't work out.

Thanks, Katesdad! This sounds great and I love how you describe it - we'll go with Yachtsman!

Can I and what companies rent cars from the BC,I need to rent one for a day,do some of them bring them to you? I thought I saw some people getting a car right out front, anyone know?
Thanks

Belle72, I've seen posts about the BWI slide closure (and we saw the construction when we were walking past it earlier this month.) In the posts from BWI guests, they said they had the option of using SAB during that time, just as we had the option to use the BWI pool when the SAB slides were under construction. But I think it only goes one way. In other words, if you are a BC guest and SAB is fully functional, you don't have the option of using the BWI pool.

Elise 79, I took lots of photos at BC/YC earlier this month and really wished I had thought to take some photos of the refill mug stations! If we don't have any by August, I'll add that to my list of photo missions for our next stay. But from memory, I know they have Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, coffee, tea, hot chocolate (I think it's packets at the BC Marketplace station, but I'm not certain), Root Beer, some kind of lemonade (maybe it's pink?) and water. Hope that helps until someone else can post something more definitive!

Don't know if you can call but there is a National & Alamo car rental desk located at the Swan if you want to do 'in person' rental. Just a short walk over.

We had a similar experience last year. When we arrived, the CL CM told us it was really slow and we'd practically have the place to ourselves. Imagine our surprise when we went to our room, only to find a tiny room with no daybed. I immediately went to the CL desk and asked for a different room. She called the room assignor and was told nothing else was available for the length of our stay (10 days) and offered a roll-away. We wouldn't have been able to move in that room with a roll-away. I told her that was unbelievable and unacceptable. After 20 min. of the CL CM going and back and forth with the room assignor with various excuses and silly offers like moving to different rooms every few days, the CL manager intervened, and like magic, we got a room with a daybed within 1 minute. The CL CM and manager were true professionals. I don't know what sort of game they were playing, but it was an annoying way to start a vacation, particularly since we had been told a daybed was guaranteed for a family of 5. Funny thing, there were only 2 other rooms occupied in the area we were in for the length of our stay, so either all the other rooms had some sort of maintenance issues (never saw or heard anyone working on them), or the room assignor wasn't capable or willing to do a proper job. From now on, we're going to make sure daybed is noted on our reservations and will talk to a CL CM prior to arrival to make sure we're don't have a repeat performance like last year.

Not happy to hear that. We aren't staying CL but are a family of five just the same and definitely would need the daybed and would prefer that to a rollaway. Is everyone in your family over age two?

Love the new map! Looking forward to spending time at SAB in August :goodvibes

Hello everyone.. Has anybody stayed at both the beach club and the poly? I am booked at the beach club but I am so undecided and don't know which one I would like. I am driving myself CRAZY!! Can anyone compare and if so, which one do you like best?thanks so much!!

I can compare in Aug. stayed at Poly, and going to BC this August!

What we loved about Poly-
Beautiful landscapping
Beach faces MK, great to watch Wishes from
Restaurants- love Kona & 'Ohana
on monorail & short path to TTC
Large rooms
Has a CS- Capt cooks with Dole Whips on tap :goodvibes

In Aug I can tell you what I love about BC!

I'm so excited! We were booked for Poly in May but decided that we wanted to do F&W and MNSSHP again, so we switched to October and booked the Yacht Club! I've always wanted to stay at the YC/BC! I'm so looking forward to the easy access to the WS and SAB!

We booked a water view, does anyone have any suggestions on requests? I don't want to overlook the quiet pool, but I understand that is included in the water views. Thinking about requesting a lake view close to the lobby. Anyone have any success with room requests?

On the WDW booking site, there is a LAGOON VIEW booking option for BC/YC CL rooms. It's described as a "Crescent Lake view." However, the water view option for a non-CL room is listed as WATER OR POOL VIEW, but is described also as a lake view with no mention of the pool:confused3

My question is, are CL Lagoon View rooms at the BC/YC dedicated Crescent Lake views or are they also pool views like the non-CL rooms? Do non-CL dedicated lake views exist?

Also, is the www.Disneyzone.net site still the only resource for YC/BC room view/number maps?

When they are oversold like that, you get a rollaway unfortunately. The rooms up there are all configured differently and I agree that some would be tough to handle a rollaway. I'm sorry you went through that but we've been in a full situation for a while and it's been crazy.

All the CL waterview rooms you can see the lake. However, the ones down by SAB, you see SAB first, then past SAB, you can see the lake.

There are no maps out there that show the new room categories (as of 1/1/11) that I know of.
