Does anyone have any experience with ordering a cake and having it delivered to your room at the Beach Club?

If our trip goes according to plan, we want to be their for hubby's bday and I'd love to have a cake delivered to the room. Is this something the Beach Club can do? I assume I contact Beach Club dining to inquire.

Do you know if there are any requirements or things they can't do?

Thanks for any info! I have been checking out the cake threads, but there is so much info there and I haven't had time to weed through to find if there were any made for delivery at the Beach Club.

Yes we had a cake through BC Private Dining for ds's birthday.

It was a pirate theme cake. We set it up through BC IPO, and basically we were told since we were ordering a 10 inch cake they could do whatever we wanted (within reason!).

BCV - Thanks so much for keeping us in your prayers. We are still going day to day. Every day brings a new challenge. In my mind I think she's looking better, but there are so many medical issues that I don't want to jinx it.

Thanks to everyone who is praying for our family.

Hi!
Will we be able to use the pool until our room is ready? We will not have our room keys at that point even though we checked in correct? But it is my understanding you need to show your room key to get into the pool? Please help

Not only can you use the pool there is a shower and locker room adjacent to the pool area that you are welcome to also.

We did a split stay with Pop and BC once but did it the other way around. BC first. Then Pop....Not the way to do it. Think that is what finally convinced my wife that BC is home :cloud9:.

Take a look at page 27 of this thread. A couple examples of the amazing things they can do.

Thanks for the info! LOL, I can imagine it would be hard to go from Beach Club to Pop! My DH and I keep joking that after our stay at the BC it will ruin us for the Values from then on. Right now we don't know any better...we don't what we're missing ;)

Well, change in plans. We wanted to go the week after Thanksgiving, which is what we did last time and loved it, but found that from Thanksgiving through December are blacked out dates for hubby to take vacation. So we need to make other plans.

Do we wait until January or do we go in October? Decisions, decisions!

My DH and I love Disney in October.... we had one October with record breaking heat; but other than that, the weather is very nice and the crowds were not too crazy. Plus we love the Not So Scary Halloween Party and Food & Wine!

I have a question if anyone knows. I looked through the thread but didn't find anything to answer my question...

We just upgraded to CL for our stay at the Beach Club. Are they still open all the time or just the hours stated on the first page in this thread. Also do they vary the foods at all or are the appetizers generally the same?

Thanks to anyone who can help. I appreciate it very much.

Also good thoughts to Teena and Disneymomx7.

Does anyone have any information regarding the BC's child's program. My boys will be 4 and 6 when we go down in July. I am wondering if the program would be ok to use for a few hours so my husband and I can have a meal in peace :cloud9:. We never use babysitters at home (just can't find them) so my kids are not used to being babysat, so I am just wondering if you felt that it was safe and held the children's interests with activites?

Thanks in advance for the help.

October would get you into the Food and wine festival at EPCOT, a favorite of mine and DH

I mentioned that to hubby when I was just talking to him at lunch and he said "that's it then." So I guess October it will be! Guess I should change my ticker!

Less time to save, but closer to the trip!

Oh and staying at the BC will put us pretty much right at the Food & Wine Fest. This just gets better!

My kids went to the Sandcastle Club a few times last summer and loved it!
In fact, after the first time ds asked to go two more times. They liked it so much that we booked it again for next summer.

Hi E&B Mom!

We were just there Feb. 7-13, and the lounge was open nearly 24 hours - they just closed it every once in a while to clean and restock, etc. When we checked in, that's exactly how the CM described it, so we knew that it might be closed for 30 minutes here or there. Over the entire week, we only saw it closed once (around 4:30pm and just for a little while.) Other than that, we could always get sodas, coffee and hot chocolate! The hours listed on the sheet they gave us, however, were 7am-10pm with 6:30am coffee.

One of the things we liked about the breakfast and snack selection was that some of the food remained the same while others would rotate. (So our boys always knew there would be something they liked AND new things to try.) For example, we always saw swedish fish candy, yogurt covered pretzels, chips and dip and the canned sodas during the 11:30am-4pm seaside snacks. For breakfast, they offered the same oatmeal/toppings, hard boiled eggs, fruit, cereal, bagels, etc. but switched the muffins and pastries. Same for the 5-7pm Twilight Treasures - some of the veggies, apples/caramel sauce, rolls with pb&j, crackers and cheeses were there every day. Some of the cheeses and crackers, the hot appetizers and mini salads rotated each night.

Hope that helps!

Oh my goodness it helps a lot!! Thank you so much for the info. We have been to WDW a lot and BC but have never stayed CL. We have a good pin so it wasn't that much more. I thought it would be a good idea since the breakfast in the Marketplace is not the greatest and we like to eat quickly and get to rope drops. We also have a lot of ADR's in Epcot and I know last year we would come back and rest before dinner so the appetizers and wine and beer will be great. Thanks again for all the info!!!!

Only 23 more days!!! We are cheating a little and going to Universal for 2 days . My kids love HP and we thought the front of the line thing would be good. But we switch over to the BC for Mon-Sun!!!!!!!!

OMG 23 days until we arrive at BCV. This Thread has been so helpful since Sept when I first found it. I keep coming back every day. Not sure what I am going to do once our trip is all over. DH says not to plan anymore trips for at least 2 years (boo).

I see that to use the big slide in the pool you can't use a flotation device, but for the little toddler slide are you allowed to, and can you catch your kids at the the little slide?

thanks

This is exactly what we did and we loved it! We were in the lounge for breakfast around 7am and heading to the park by 8am for a 9am rope drop. It was a little tight when we went to morning EMH at 8am - we'd need to grab something super quick at the lounge and eat on the run! Luckily, I always bring ziploc bags to Disney for Marketplace breakfasts on-the-go, so we used those to make our CL lounge breakfast portable too! I think I mentioned this earlier, but our boys liked breakfast so much in the lounge that they asked to cancel our Cape May ADRs!

We also had tons of ADRs in Epcot just like you did and will! So excited for you!

For our July trip last summer, our pre-schooler (and even our pre-teens) must have gone down the little slide a zillion times! Yes, kids were allowed to wear the floatation devices that Dee describes on the first page of this thread. And absolutely we were allowed to catch our little one at the bottom of the slide! It was so fun to see him coming down the slide that my husband, two older boys and I set up a rotation to take turns catching him. We asked the lifeguard on the first day to make sure it was OK, and it was. Several other parents did the same and it was never too crowded or congested. So unless they have or do change the rules since then, it shouldn't be a problem. Have fun!!
