Marlton Mom: Will there be a full photo trip report when you return? I don't care if it's just photos with very little verbage, but I'd love to see a whole thread of the just photos you intend to take with maybe a description here and there.

I'll definitely let you see my pictures, the problem is, since I will be learning new software for processing them, it's going to take time to do each one. More than likely they will be posted piece meal but I'll let you know when one is up and post a link to my flickr account.

Thanks for asking though!

Sounds good! Hope you have a fabulous time.

Ah yes, almost single digits.... but I won't be staying at the Beach Club since I couldn't afford the cost. Running away from home can do that to a Mom!

Right now I'm preparing the house for my absence.... by cleaning and stocking up on things that DH and DS are going to run out of while I'm gone. I'd hate to see them go all feral in my absence and you just know that's exactly what's going to happen while I am gone. I was going to stock the pantry with healthy choice snacks but who am I kidding! Unless I'm there to chase them around the house with the veggies and fruits it's going to be a Frito Lay Fiesta at my house while I'm gone!! When I come back I'm sure they'll both be suffering from advanced coronary artery disease, constipation and jungle rot. All I can say is the house better not be a mess or I'm turning around and going right back to Disney World until they clean it up!

I'm also cleaning and organizing my photography equipment and I'll start packing shortly. It's nice not to be wearing the summer clothes that I'll be taking down so I can toss them right in the case. I'm also studying my photography notes on camera operation and assorted techniques that I'll be trying when I shoot the World.

Chef's often say a cookbook isn't loved until it's got food stains on every page. My camera manuals have urgent multicolored notes on top of notes and my hand made print outs are printed, laminated, added to, printed again, laminated, added to again etc until I have to say uncle and go with what I know and leave the rest for later. Right now I'm working on learning how to take 360 degree panographic photographs so I've rented some special equipment and I've studied some techniques. Hopefully I'll be ready. I am also prepared to shoot all my photos so that I can convert them into HDR images. This is still a learning process with me, especially on the software side but I am ready to go camera wise.

So that's whats up with me. I will desperately miss the Beach Club but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do when she's running away from home. It will be so nice not to have to herd anybody or make compromises about what is done when. Heck, I even have the other bed to dump all my camera equipment on!

Nice!!!!!

Running away from home sounds fun- I need to try that!

Hey MM - what dates will you be down there? I'm running away too with my friend for 5 days - 3/4-8 - will we overlap at all?

And wow you actually stock the pantry when you leave? I take 1-2 girls trips a year - I put the grocery store rewards card on the counter & let them fend for themselves!!

:welcome:

I will add you to the first page Be Our Guest list :yay:

Here is the info on coffee makers at the YC/BC. Some coffee will be provided in the room but I'm not sure where you purchase the pods for these if you want to bring your own:

What kind of coffeemakers are in the resort rooms?

As of October 2011, the drip coffee makers in the BC and YC resort rooms were replaced.

The regular resort rooms and club level rooms now have the Cuisinart Double Pod Machines:

Thanks for the photos, Rorey and Cinderumbrella!

Please note that the suites reportedly have Keurig k-cup machines.

The coffee makers in the Beach Club Villa rooms are Mr. Coffee-type (drip) coffee makers. I think the 2 BR and 1 BR BCV kitchenettes have a 10 cup machine and the BCV studios have a 4 cup carafe.
Thank you so much for such a quick and helpful reply, the picture helps. I will look for some pod coffee I guess, I still have the regular coffee pot that just drips with ground coffee and filters. Counting down the days, hoping for great weather and small crowds...one can hope.

Long time lurker, this thread has been very informative and helpful! Just confirmed that we will be at BCV Sept. 16-23 after a 3 night stay at AKL. We are so excited, this will our first trip not in December and our first trip to WDW as DVC members. Thanks for all of the helpful tips and we look forward to more as I continue to plan and to lurk ;)

I will be down there Monday Feb 27th to Friday March 2nd. I am doing that MK open 24 hours day but I will take a break mid day and head back to my resort ASMOV.

I'm glad to see another lurker was brave enough to come out! :lmao:

Here's a big Welcome to jaysonleah from all your new friends here on the BC/YC/BCV FAQ board!!

I think I qualify as I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've posted. Although I do read and appreciate ALL of the info (and banter!) on this thread :worship:

We will be at the BC-CL from 6/6-6/11 heading over from 4 nights at the Poly. :cool1:

So excited to be heading back :banana::banana:

I just got back from a wonderful 5 nights at the BC! I met Teena on Monday afternoon (2/13) and she reminded me to check for a phone book in my room - YES, there was one! (I didn't really introduce myself except to say that I read the Dis more than I post - but that was me, short, roundish, glasses, dark brown hair pulled up in a pony tail, said, "You're the Famous Teena!" :) ) I got magically pixie dusted up to Club Level, standard 5th floor room overlooking the front entrance; I plan to post pics of the view once I get everything sorted out. This was my 2nd trip to BC, and I just love it!

I do remember you. It was great to meet you!

Thanks natebenma for adding us to the list- I'm going to look as soon as I finish looking at this thread. I think there were five more pages since I last looked at it- and that was yesterday evening! Got to keep up! A question about the pods for the coffe makers- are they like K-pods for the Keurig? Doen't look like it in the pictures, but they might just be packaged differently. I told my son about the plans I made for out trip so far, and he was excited after I told him about SAB. But before that all he could stutter was... "What do you mean? We're not staying at AKL? I loved that place! Can't we stay there?" But the SAB has got him on board now. And so excited- we originally booked a standard view room as there were no garden views available. Well on my second call back to see if any were available yet- there was one! Yay! And btw, the reservationist also said that if she were to pick a place to eat there- she would pick the Yachtsman... so I'm thinking we will try that. Yum.

I hope you took a picture of the phone book and post it. I do remember you. It was great to meet you!

Rats! No, I didn't take a picture! :sad2: Hm, maybe I need to hop a plane and head back down there right now...

I just returned from a Moms Only Trip (stayed at Pop) and on the last day I book a bounceback for June staying at the BC Club Level - ? view arriving Saturday 6-9 and leaving Thursday 6-14 for $3,020. After careful thought I decided to check the spring offer and have rebooked the trip for YC Club Level - standard view arriving 6-10 (Sunday) and departing 6-15 (Friday) for $2,146. I was driving myself crazy thinking I had spent in deed tooooooo much $. I had! After talking to the Castmember this morning he said the bounceback rate was only good for the first day of our initial trip and then I had rack rate the remainder of the days! :scared1: I'm sooooo glad I looked at this more carefully. I would have loved to stay at the BC again but am thrilled to have YC Club Level for our trip!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's super!!!!!!

How things can change quickly! :rotfl2: As I've wanted to stay at BC Club Level standard view but couldn't get it, I booked YC Club Leve standard viewl. I've still been checking online for the BC Club Level availability. Just 20 minutes ago I looked and it was available and I've called and changed (for the 3rd time) to BC Club Level standard view!!!!!!!!!! Now, I'm done looking and I'm also really really looking forward to being back at the BC. We haven't been to the BC since our youngest son was 2 and he's now 14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
