Ooooooh are we still talking about bacon??? Ummmmm baaacccccoooonnnn... BTW I think Canadian bacon is ham and the different types of UK bacon are relevant to my interests. LOL

Snow seems to have stopped and DH has finished the first layer of ice for the backyard rink. It seems a degree in engineering may be required. LOL

Speaking of wristbands, I have the opposite problem. DD got one of those papery wristbands at her birthday swimming party and had a bet with two friends about who would keep it on the longest. One girl dropped out and she is competing with her friend who flew back to Slovenia a month ago. Did I mention her birthday is DECEMBER 4th!!!!!!?????!!!! That thing is NASTY.

erm I have no idea what Canadian bacon loooks like! But UK bacon comes in different cuts, we prefer medallions which are a smaller piece of bacon with no fat. The next sort of cut is back bacon which is a medalion with a short piece of bacon with some fat, then middle bacon which has a longer end with more fat. Finally steaky bacon which is what seems to be served in the US and crisped to within an inch of its life

Oooh, I bet UK bacon is delicious! Canadian bacon reminds me of ham. I like it on eggs benedict.

I have something like this which we call Snips. They are perfect for traveling and for cutting off the wristbands. I've never been stopped going through security and I carry them in my purse all the time. I don't know how they show up on an x-ray but if I had to guess, I'd say they probably look like a pen.

Less than 90 days until our BC stay I booked a room only but I did not do any room requests when I booked. I want to request a full balcony. When is the best time to do this and what number do I call? Thank you!

Call now, and then again 7-10 days before your trip, to confirm that the request for a full balcony is still on your reservation.

You would call either the Central Reservation number you used to book your trip (if you called or booked online) or if you used a travel agency, they should add your room request to the reservation.

Fast forward to today... The boy won't take it off! "The doctor said I could wear it until my thumb stops hurting. It still hurts."

Of course it hurts. It has been covered for almost 2 years.

Note to self: plan visit from the splint fairy in the middle of the night to make the thing disappear.

Just tell him the doctors office called and he has to turn it in because the durable medical goods contract has expired and they need to process it and put it back in the system.

Someone here did the in room gift with Omar's help from BC CL...imvolving sandbuckets? Help?

Want to do an in the room gift for DD13. What to get a teen though???? How to arrange it? Am staying CL so I know they would help but rumor has it they got away from that? Anywhere else to go for it and any ideas of WHAT to have for a teen??

YC got their resort specific merchandise in a while ago but as of two weeks ago (before my vacation), the BC had not received their resort specific merchandise. However, I was told it is on its way (of course that could mean months).

Soooo, a question:

Are the evening offerings at YC CL essentially the same as BC? Mom and Dad are addicted to bacon-wrapped scallops (gotta keep up with the bacon theme this thread seems to have developed of late). Also, any chance they're putting out that yummy clam chowder in either lounge?

Now that we have less than 7 months to go before our return trip to the BC I was sorting through some pics from our September stay and thought I'd post a few here.

This was our king bed room. I loved this room, we didn't request a king but getting one was great, it had a full balcony and looked at the gardens/volleyball court straight on but we had a sideways view of the lake and we could even see ToT in the distance. We only paid for standard view so I'm not sure if this room falls into the garden or water view category but it was fab.

The camera was a bit fogged up so it's not a great pic but I love seeing Spaceship Earth just behind the BC.

Ha! Love it! See my e-mail regarding report card equivalency - the one who "equals Nate" is the one who wears the multiple wristbands for months. I'm not sure whether to tell him about Nate, because I think he would just be inspired! The only way we get them off is when the little league all stars coach requires it to comply with league rules. So it's funny that our youngest wants them off immediately!

Hi scottmel! Robyn does the sandbuckets and was my "mentor" for the IPO in-room surprise. And we're the ones who worked with Omar for the pirate surprise at BWI (since YC/BC/BWI share an IPO.) We have three boys, so I'm stuck on the ideas for a 13-year-old daughter! Just a note - IPO did initially suggest that we contact Disney florist, but based on Robyn's advice, I just told them I would rather work with them and they were great. I had ideas in mind, but they also offered great suggestions, so you might want to see if they have any ideas!
