Pas, I'm just stopping by quickly and skimming through the posts from today and saw your change! Yay! Welcome Back! I'm late in responding, but I'll vote "yes" for CL. Something for everyone - BC CL is where our pickiest eater loves the apples & caramel and plain rolls. :)

That dessert picture looks wonderful. We are staying cl at the YC and I can't wait to try these bon bons. I teach third grade, and after eating school spaghetti today, that picture makes me want to be at Disney World right now!!! School spaghetti = pure nastiness

I've said it before, but while we would stay it either resort, YC is our first choice. I like being first on the buses, I like that the boat dock is right there, I like that the lobby is quieter since you don't have all the people waiting for Cape May. Plus, we like the room decor better at YC. The staff was fabulous at both resorts and of course you get the wonderful SAB at either. You really can't go wrong with either! :goodvibes

Sounds like good reasons to me. Guess I'll have to phone CRO tomorrow wihle the kiddos are in school!:cool1: My poor ticker never seems to make any progress since I keep changing it :rolleyes1

Thank you for this! Decisions, decisions. Part of me says try something new, while the other says go with what you know. :confused3

Oops. Quoted myself but I'm leaving it in cause it's funny :rotfl2:

I'll be at the World during part of your trip, but alas, not at the BC- I'll be at one of the AllStars with my son's 8th grade class. Hopefully.

Stop by and we will sneak you in the lounge! :rotfl:

Totally agree with all your reasons, even as the kiddos get older, like mine are. But you forgot the most important reason - WINE FOR MA AND PA AT THE END OF THE DAY!!!!!

BEST REASON EVER :banana::banana::banana:

Thanks for the coffee pic!!!! :woohoo: I totally appreciate The time you all go to helping us newbies!!!
Now we have never tried that kind... ANyone know if it is any good?

Coffee Pics to the rescue!!

This is a photo from our Nov 2011 BC CL trip.

Also, we have stayed YC CL and BC CL and the lounges are about the same size, but the YC one never felt quite as busy to me.

Thanks so much for posting this. I have copied and saved it for future reference, and I may post it in the FAQ section if you don't mind.

Can you believe the last time we stayed at BCV, we never swam at Stormalong Bay or ate at Beaches and Cream?:sad2: This trip I am scheduling some resort time to remedy that. I'm hoping the weather in November will cooperate. Has anyone ever stayed at BC during Thanksgiving? I'm thinking of making ressies at Cape May for Thanksgiving dinner. Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks.

We like the Cape May a lot. Here is my review from our 2010 trip (I start out talking about the breakfast, but there are lots of descriptions and pictures from the clambake):

Cape May Café

Stop by and we will sneak you in the lounge! :rotfl:

I really appreciate the offer. Getting me in should not be a problem, but I'm pretty sure they would notice the 100 teenagers trailing behind me.

OMG, are you serious? My kids call it their snack room too! :rotfl2: And looks like we will just miss you :sad1: We will be there Jun 2nd to the 11th (assuming I make no more changes). Save some snacks (and some of "mommy's juice") for us :rotfl:
I will totally save some "mommy juice" the snacks...well...I am a certified chocoholic I will try my best  I promise to take them one at a time...maybe I can burn some calories off chasing the kiddos in the pool!

I never did SAB either, we did Feb. @ BCV and it was chilly and windy. But we LOVED Beaches & Cream!

This will be my kids! I can't let go of CL...and even HRH said mommy we HAVE to keep the snack room.

DH had the rolls with butter when we did YC CL, and of course his beer :goodvibes

We are checking in on my DDs 6th birthday, isn't that alone a reason to splurge?

I admit we never tried it. We were staying CL so I always grabbed my coffee in there. I drink normal coffee at home, but always stick with my lattes on vacation, so I don't mind the Nescafe for those.

Absolutely! Sorry it took so long to post it here :headache: I deliberately took it with this thread in mind too!

Question for the YC folks: Do any of the CL garden view rooms look at something other than the wedding gazebo? That was the view we had last year, which was awesome, but curious what the other choices are. TIA!!

Hi Cinderumbrella,

Is the coffee in CL Nescafe or the good stuff? We'll be staying at the BC CL in May. Usually we are in standard rooms, and I'll wait until I get to a park for the good coffee. Since we'll be CL I was hoping(;)) the coffee would be pretty decent.

Thanks for your help!

p.s. I've been lurking on these pages, this is the friendliest thread on the boards! :lovestruc

My husband is going to be so happy about the pod makers.. He is a coffee addict.. We have a keurig and don't know what coffee packs will work because I will for sure pack them.. Also, we are headed from the 17-thru the 24th of April.. I have the following ressies wanted to know what you all thought. We are string at the Bc pool/water view..
17th La hacienda ( this may change as I forgot that duh always likes to go to mk the first night)
18th flying fish ( really excited to try here)
19th raglan road ( we have friends that will be stating at SSS and this is our night to hang out with them, we have 5:15 ressies and plan on heading to mk after)
20th via Napoli
21st ohana
22nd chef mickeys for breakfast
23rd nothing need to add something just don't know.
24th home :sad2:
We are on reg. dining and are planning on paying oop for a couple of meals.. What does everyone suggest? How do these ressies look?

We will be staying at the Beach Club for the 1st time at the end of August. It's only for two but it will be great because we have never stayed there before. Looking forward to the pool area. Our remaining days will be spent at CBR.

We have never done any of these meals. We have done Chef Mickey's for dinner and will be trying breakfast this April. I would, however, suggest that you add Cape May Cafe to your line up. It's my husband's absolute favorite meal. In fact, it's the only request he has the whole vacation. It has a nice variety of seafood and non-seafood options. It's also a great choice when you are on the meal plan, as it is one of the more expensive buffets.

Thanks natebenma. Great review. Love Cape May. Best character buffet in my opinion. I've heard some good reviews for Thanksgiving dinner. I think we'll either go with that or possibly Prime Time.

Well pas130 if you can swim in Feb, I'm sure we will be able to in November, esp since pool is heated. I might be flashin those highbeams, but what the heck.:scared1:

The machine at YC CL and BC CL is definitely Nescafe, but there is a separate pot that is out in the reception area starting at 6:30am (honestly not sure if it stays out there all morning, or if they move it into the lounge once it opens at 7am). I am pretty sure that is something other than Nescafe, but I never tried it. I treat myself to lattes on vacation, and the machine stuff is fine with me. There is also a variety of flavored syrups to add to the coffee, if you want.

HTH! :goodvibes

ETA: Here is a pic of the machine from YC CL. It is the same at the BC

I just booked our first trip to the Beach Club in September 2012!
Our last trip was in 2008 and was a Make a Wish trip for my daughter. We're heading back to celebrate how wonderfuly she has been doing and just because we LOVE Disney!!! This will be my kids' first time staying on property.
To be honest, BC wasn't even one of the first resorts I considered, but after seeing the pool and reading these threads, we can't wait to get there!!!:banana::banana:

I finally made it all the way through the whole thread!! You guys are a chatty bunch!! I love the comments about the Poly guy!!!! I was following the POR thread until we decided to change to BC. I so know who you are talking about. He is a little stuck on himself!!

The K-Cups won't work in these coffee makers.

They are shallower pods that go in these machines.

Oh man my DS14 is going to FREAKING LOVE THIS coffee machine - he thinks he's all cool having coffee & espresso & cafe latte, etc. He's going to be in that lounge more than the parks!
