I have the same thing happen with the first page. But it doesn't stop me from going there! I know now that almost any question I have will have a picture or answer there so don't remove any of the wonderful pictures. I even printed out the pictures of the map and the secret walkway to take with us on Saturday so we don't get lost.:thumbsup2

Sorry about the loading thing! I find it really annoying when I go to update the Be Our Guest list.

No threat of me removing pictures. I want to add MORE!!! (As Mike suspects) I have to keep adding posts when I restart the thread because I keep maxing out the 25 picture/post limit.

If we have nice weather and do the lazy river we will time it for you and report back after our trip.;)

Thank you!!!

Could you also check on the prepackaged Gelato in the Marketplace. Do they still have it? What flavors?

Thank you. I figured that the meal at Sci Fi will not be anything to write home about but Nathan has wanted to eat there everytime we have gone past. I figured we can give it a try this time. Plus, it will be nice to know that we have a place to eat there. We have had the most problems at DHS trying to find a place without a line and we always go in the slow season. Finding a table to eat at has always been worse.

Stick with burgers and sandwiches at the Sci Fi. Maybe the ribs. Under no circumstances are you to order the Shrimp Pasta!!! That is the hands-down the nastiest thing I have ever eaten at Disney. Why did I order it??? IDK. But I won't make that mistake again.

For my fellow Patriots fans...last night we got to hang out with the Lamar Hunt Trophy. This is the actual one that they had on the field last week, which has not been engraved. And in an hour, I'm heading back over to the stadium for the team send-off rally. I'll have those photos too.

Thanks for that tip! I love shrimp pasta so I may have gone for it. We will probably stick with a sandwich since we are going to the Yachtsman for dinner the same day.

I added the lazy river and the Gelato to our itinerary so that my old brain does not forget!!

Hi everyone!
My family and I will be at BCV in 3 days (Wed Feb 1). We all can't wait to get away from this cold weather up in Ontario Canada!

One question I had for all of you was about shipping. I took advantage of the fact that shipping within the US is pretty cheap (compared to Canada) and had a package shipped to BCV.

I addressed it as mentioned in post #1 (see below):

Disney's Beach Club Resort (or Disney's Beach Club Villas)
1800 Epcot Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830
Please give to Guest, (name on reservation)
Check-in date 9/1/10 (for example)

When tracking it, I received an exception mentioning the following. What's strange is that I thought packages sent via USPS went directly to the Beach Club front desk?

--Message from USPS tracking--
Class: Priority Mail®
Service(s): Signature Confirmation™
Status: Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available)

We attempted to deliver your item at 9:30 am on January 28, 2012 in ORLANDO, FL 32821 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. You may arrange redelivery by visiting usps.com/redelivery or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

I called the Beach Club front desk and they didn't have any notice left with them so I'm at a loss as to where it could have ended up. I guess I'll try to straighten this out with USPS/BC on Monday when everything is open.

If anyone had a similar experience, I would be curious as to what happened and where the package ended up. Is there a post office within the Disney property?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about the trouble you had with your package delivery. I haven't seen this issue before. I have never sent a package down, but I know Marlton Mom has. MM- do you know if it was delivered to front desk, bell services or somewhere else?

So I notice that the USPS indicated it attemepted to deliver to Orlando, 32821 and the first page instructions say Lake Buena Vista, 32830

That sounds like it could have contributed to the problem.

Let us know what happens when you call. It definitely seems that they (USPS) should be able to tell you where the package currently is.

I didn't track the package so all I know is that it was there when I checked in. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I was wondering about that zip as well. I definitely put in the correct zip of 32830 so I'm just as confused as anyone else. Hopefully I can straighten it out tomorrow.

Thanks for the warm welcome. we will be at the a YC Feb 14-19th.
As far as Kona and Ohana, we have eaten at both. we prefer Ohana, of couse I am feeding 3 growing boys. On a longer visit we went twice.Kona is a little to proper for us and we thought the portions were small. Our boys have always eaten adult foods and the children choices at Kona were just to bland for them. Its kind of nice for kids to be able to make regular noise. We usually choose a time that coincides with Wishes. It's magical when they pipe the music in.
After all of the talk of the first page I am going to have to check it out.

I have a quick question. I went to the infamous first page first.;)
The pics make it look like there is a shower gel but the info states bath sopa. Do they supply both or just the soap in a standard non club level room? Trying to decide if I need to pack my shower gel or not from home.

This might be a little bit helpful: UPS was supposed to deliver a package to my office. I checked on the website and it said this: "The receiver requested a hold for a future delivery date. UPS will attempt delivery on date requested. / Delivery rescheduled."

Of course I was mad at our receptionist (presumably "the receiver"). But she said the UPS guy never showed up. When I called UPS, I was told that this was standard exception language. Maybe my package got wet in a heavy rainstorm and the driver didn't want to put it on the truck. Maybe it was a small package that got lost under a big package. Who knows.

So I wasn't surprised to read that the language in your exception notice wasn't appropriate for your situation (even though it's a different carrier).

Welcome to the new folks! I'm one of the "long waiting for my first trip" folks. Nice to see another Canadian here too! :).

Here's my favorite Far Side!!

We have 'Ohana on our ADR list too, and Dee, I LOVED your report on it. I know you didn't enjoy it as much as Kona, but the "meat on a stick" is right up my family's alley! I can hardly wait to show DS the pictures (which were awesome). I booked it on an evening of one of our rest days, so we shouldn't be overwhelmed. I also planned the time so we can watch Wishes from the beach after.

Ok, I'm hungry now!!!

NHL All Star Game is on, so I'm off to watch the second period with my hockey obsessed kiddo.

So I have been lurking the boards for a while now. I have been lurking POR board but we changed our mind and will be staying at BC now the end of April. We are first time Disney travelers so this is all too exciting. Obviously because I am on this board I am an avid planner like the rest of you. I have read several mixed posts on if the BC has separate conditioner and shampoo....You know the important things!! If anyone can help that would be great. Also what kind of Coffee does the resort have in the rooms...I saw that it was Pod makers but didn't see a coffee brand.
thanks in advance!

This is from the Page 1 FAQ- I can't tell what kind of coffee this is.

What kind of coffeemakers are in the resort rooms?

As of October 2011, the drip coffee makers in the BC and YC resort rooms were replaced.

The regular resort rooms and club level rooms now have the Cuisinart Double Pod Machines:

Thanks for the photo, Rorey!

Thanks!! I am glad to see conditioner! I did see the coffeemaker pic previously but could not make out what kind of coffee they supplied?? :confused3

Hi everyone! We are taking a last minute trip and when I called today to book our room at BWI, there was a flex offer attached to our name so we got to book CL at BC for about 40% off. We hadn't planned to stay here, but I couldn't pass the deal up and after reading the front page I am SO EXCITED!

20 days to go!

Hello everybody! After a ton of changes to my ressie, I think I'm set on BC for our June trip, but still considering YC as well.

Having a guaranteed balcony would be plus, but I'm not sure I'm willing to trade more steps to Epcot (with 4 kiddos less is more, lol!) unless there are additional reasons.

Is the CL lounge any bigger at the YC? More seating perhaps? Phone books in the rooms? (sorry, I lurk a ton and see the jokes, and well... it's just funny and I couldn't resist :rotfl:)

Anyhoo :rolleyes1 If anyone has stayed CL at both, would you mind comparing the two and which you preferred?

TIA :banana::banana::banana:

Just popping in to say hi! Our trip is getting close and I'm super excited! 2 nights at POFQ starting on the 7th followed by a 3 night cruise on the Dream, then 4 nights at YC CL for my 40th bday :scared1:. This will b our first stay at any of the Epcot resorts and we are looking forward to CL. And, w are trying Victoria and Albert's for my b-day.

Any advice on staying club level? Do we need to let IPO know when we will arrive?

:welcome: all!

I have added you all to the guests lists with the info you provided, but if you want me to add your exact dates, let us know when you are checking in and checking out.

Thanks!! I am glad to see conditioner! I did see the coffeemaker pic previously but could not make out what kind of coffee they supplied?? :confused3

We will get the answer for you about the coffee brand before your trip. My first post on this board was about what kind of coffee makers are in the room.

Rusty- if you could check on this and let us know, that would be great. If not, we will ask someone down the line.

I have only stayed at BC CL, but I think comments I have read say the YC lounge is a little bigger. The pictures on page 1 are a few years old, I think for both lounges. Have both undergone renos since then?

Sorry we don't keep stats on the availability of phone books, but from observational data, since we have reports of one missing at BC, I would infer that you would have a better chance at YC.

Woo-hoo!!!

Have a fantastic trip and a wonderful birthday!!!

You should be greeted by name in the lobby when you arrive and you will be escorted to the 5th floor for checkin.

Here is my piece of advice for club level. If you split up, make sure you both have a room key. My family left me at the pool and took all the room keys. I had no way to get back to the room (you need your room key to activate the elevator to take you to the 5th floor).

I was shivering in the lobby and had to be rescued by Teena, who was able to help me reunite with my family. :grouphug:
