Teena,

Enjoy your trip! Thank you again for your help with our trip in 2 weeks. You have really helped lower the stress that we had building.

I agree with the others that 10 hour days will be very long. Though I can understand why they want you there more. You are something special that no other Disney Resort can claim. Can't wait to meet you and hope to on either the 5th or 6th!!!

How are you doing on Hostess treats? I think I can find them here. Not sure I have seen the chocolate juniors though. Any other flavors that you or your husband like? I know that I have seen the chocolate peanut butter ones. I think they are called Tandycakes.

Karla

That's so sweet. Thank you. I hope to meet you on the 5th or 6th too!!

I'm almost out of the Tastycakes Chocolate Tandycakes if you see any. Thanks so much!!!!!! I keep them in the freezer and for a treat I have a pack at night. Not real often ... can't run out!!!

That's the peanut butter ones, right?

OOO now I have to run down to Giant for some Tastycakes!

I think she means the chocolate Kandycake ones - not the peanut butter ones - they have both varieties - both are my favorite Tastycakes!!! When they're on sale I usually buy a box of each. I get a box of the coconut ones when they have them too!

I've been spelling it wrong my whole life - I just went to the website - they're Tastykake Kandy Kakes...chocolate or peanut butter variety. I have been calling them Candycakes or Tandycakes for years! I think I even called them Tandytakes for awhile!

Oh whatever, they're YUM! I didn't realize you couldn't get them in FL. My brother went to college in FL back in the 80's & we used to ship him boxes of Utz pretzels & chips!

Teena, have a great trip! We look forward to hearing about what happens with the job hours when you return. We hope to finally meet you in October!:goodvibes

I'm desperately watching out for a discount now... otherwise I'm not sure we can afford CL!:surfweb:

Hi Everyone...I just booked a club level room at the Beach Club for our upcoming April trip so excited...anyway, the reservationist informed me that they have changed the way they book a family of 5 and I am booked on the 5th floor with a guaranteed daybed. Does anyone know where that would be?? view?? I requested a full balcony..where is the lounge?? thanks so much for any help!!!! ;)

:welcome:

What did you book for a view?

There are 3 view categories: Standard, Garden and Waterview. If you have a true family of 5 (everyone over age 3), then I don't believe they will let yo book a Garden View because the rooms in that category at club level are not properly configured for that many people.

The lounge is on the 5th floor. The elevators in between the BC lobby and BC Marketplace take you to the lounge, so it is located in that area of the resort (5 floors above the Marketplace area).

Rooms will be on the 5th floor.

If you would you like to be added to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, let us know the dates of your trip.

UTZ were definitely my favorite growing up, but they've changed the formula so they can ship them further.....great if you're craving UTZ around the country...bad if you loved the old fresh taste :)

Ah well... I don't need to be eating a bag of BBQ chips on my own anyway...:rotfl2:

We didn't have Utz up here until recently. We had some local potato chip companies that I grew up with Stateline and Blackstone are the two names that I remember, although there might have been more. Blackstone were the best!!

I used to send my sister Devil Dogs because she can't get those in the Midwest. I haven't sent any in a while though since we're both trying to do Weight Watchers.

Hi! Haven't been on here in awhile since we're planning DL this Dec., but I think I almost have DH convinced to do a quick 4 night trip in May. The Spring code shows availibility @ YC club level (our favorite). My question: they now have a "garden view" club room listed. Anyone stayed in that room type? I'm wondering where those rooms are. (Yes, I know on the fifth floor. ;)). But are they overlooking the back exit, just on the side; or are they on the front side of the building, overlooking the Port Cochere?

We stayed in a king bed club room in Sept that was supposed to be "water view". It was the first room behind the elevators near the concierge desks. I was very surprized it was a water view room as you really had to stand at the rail to see any water. Betwen the so-so view of the lagoon & the Love bugs, I felt I wasted my money on the water view. So thinking of going for the Garden view this time.

Anybody have any room numbers or locations of the Garden view club rooms? Thanks!!

You can get some of them in Florida but not my favorites.

I miss the frozen Hanover veggies too here. And of course my all time thing I miss is Jersey/Pennsylvania sweet corn and tomatoes. Florida people have no idea what "real" corn and tomatoes taste like!

Thank you. I had no idea of the 2 types. I only have bought the peanut butter ones. Now I know what to look for.

We loved the UTZ crab chips. Can't get those in Missouri. We used to live in MD. Don't even get me started on MD crabcakes outside of MD. Just not the same!

Nope, the chocolate ones are my favorites. Bob likes the peanut butter ones.

Cool, I will look for both then. And the juniors. I think I even saw a Hostess outlet so if our grocery store does not have them maybe the outlet one will.

I bought granola bars and stuff yesterday for a quick breakfast before hitting the parks or even for our backpack while visiting the parks. So ready for this trip!:cool1:

Wait a sec - someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Tastykake and Hostess 2 totally separate manufacturers? Tastycake makes the Kandy Kakes & Krimpets, Hostess makes ho ho's, twinkies, devil dogs, etc. Or do they have the same parent company?

I looked both up online & each has their own website, that doesn't mention the other, but what do I know?!

I al ways grew up assuming they were totally separate companies.

Haha! Then I guess I won't find any at that store. I truly have no idea. Saves me trip. Thanks! I know that Hostess just filed for bankruptcy last week and for some reason while reading the article I thought they were the same.

Good Morning Friends!!

Finished ironing and most of the packing yesterday. One more day at the wonderful BC (Sunday) and then off for our LONG planned eleven night Celebrity Equinox cruise on Monday.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up. I've been approached about working "more" and "longer" days. I told them I'd be willing to work Saturdays too and give ten hour days a shot. So, maybe when I get back from the cruise, I'll have more news to share. I keep telling them this is my retirement job ... our definitions of retirement are different I guess.

Have a great time Teena!

~Nannette

I don't know about Tastycake ... but Hostess makes Twinkies and Drakes makes Devil Dogs. Those are 2 separate companies.

What're the Magic Words??? Go Pats!!! (I see you're from Boston)

Oh yeah, I did go there!

Adding you to the list. :cool1:

I don't think you're Magic Words are big enough or colorful enough. LOL

Ok just so there's no confusion (LOL)....for everyone's reading enjoyment this Friday: From wiki -

Tastykake is the brandname for a line of snack foods manufactured by the Tasty Baking Company, currently headquartered at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center (formerly the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[1] Established in 1914 by Philip J. Baur and Herbert T. Morris and originally selling its product only in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, the company now distributes its products in several states on the East Coast and has been gradually expanding across the United States.

In April 2010, Tasty Baking entered into a purchase-and-sale agreement with TKMG Associates and its guarantor, Metro Development Company, for the sale of its Philadelphia bakery property located at Hunting Park Avenue, and its former corporate offices and distribution center located at Fox Street, for $6 million.

The snack-sized, prepackaged desserts are diverse. Varieties include:

Cupcakes
Krimpets - shaped sponge cake with butterscotch icing or jelly filling.
Kandy Kakes - chocolate-enrobed cakes with filling
Junior - small two-layer cake with filling and/or icing
Cookie Bars - long, dense, cookie-type cake.
Kreamies - long two-layer cake with cream filling
Pies - mini (X-inch), full size (9-inch), and extra large (24-inch) varieties
