Ok, another question (sorry if it's been answered, I tried searching)

On the BC page it list Pack n Plays, but in one of the pics there is a crib?

Do they have both? Is the crib bigger? Are PnP's in the closets or is that only in suites?
Thanks!!

Hi. Just changed my dates at the BC to Aug 25 to Sept 3. Gotta love the freer dining. It was worth it for me to switch the dates. We will just do US before instead of after.

Thanks for all the information on BC. Really appreciate it!

Come on summer!

17 more days for our first BC trip. :cool1:

After looking at my kids schedule for the next 17 days, I think I need to start packing. Time to bring out the Disney Box.:yay:

Posting mostly to see my ticker and to check out if I'm a "Dis Veteran" yet!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Congratulations on your promotion to Dis Veteran! :cool1:

I love the 11 days from now game! I love the 2 days from now game even more!!!

Have you received a March activities schedule from IPO? If you do, or if you request one, would you mind PMing or emailing it to me (beachclubdee@yahoo.com)

Thank you!

Well Dee, I tried to get the March activities schedule and failed. I emailed the IPO to ask for the activities schedule and I received this response.

"Good Morning Welsh Crew,

Thank You for your e-mail. Right now we have the Movie on the Beach at 7:00pm, but with the daylight savings time change coming up on the 11th. that may change to 8:00pm. They also do a little campfire sing-along and smores on the Beach weather permitting.
As far as the move on the Beach, If the weather is bad, they do bring it inside to the Salaruim at the Beach Club Resort so that goes on
regardless. Please let us know how we may assist you further.

As I read their response I just remembered that we are there for Daylight Savings Time. That sucks - first we had to wait an extra day for our trip to arrive, thanks to leap year, and now we are going to lose an hour after we arrive. Sigh.

Oh a happier note, I end this post with the following....

Single Digit Dance!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Hi ya'll I have a question..My brother and his wife want to take the kids to the BCV and stay in a studio. The occupancy is 4. There are 3 kids-11,10,and 1. DOes that mean 4 only or 4 + 1 under 3? Thanks so much!

Pretty sure they have cribs upon request. If I am recalling correctly, DrMomof3 requested a crib for her BCV room and I believe she received a full sized model. I'm sure if she see's your question she will add her comments.

Got it! I'll make the change. Congrats on your savings. :woohoo:

Thanks, anyway. I really appreciate your effort.

That's the way it works at the resort- the guest under age 3 does not count towards the occupancy limits. I know very little about the villas, so hopefully someone can confirm that it is the same.

Riffing on your question-

I have the occupancy on the front pages listed as 5 plus 1 (or whatever the limit is for a particular category). What if there are more than one in the group under age 3? Say you had a family with two adults, a 13 year old, 10 year old, 7 year old and twin 2 year olds (heaven help you...)

Would you be able to book a standard room at the Beach Club?

And one more announcement regarding the Disney FANTASY: Jeanne and Brian and Princess Lily are going to become an official family. They are getting married on the Fantasy on the cruise which sets sail from Port Canaveral on 6/15/13. If anybody is planning a Fantasy cruise for that time, it will be great to have you on board so you can meet the family!!!!! The planning is going smoothly. Disney Weddings makes it all very easy!

How WONDERFUL....congrats to all of you!!

I just received am email from our TA and she said that there is a rumor that free dining for Sept will not include the BCV :sad1: She asked me if there was another resort we would like to go to if that is the case. I was talking to my husband and he saw how disappointed I was about the possibility of not staying at the BC, he said "Don't worry honey we can stay at the BCV's!":lovestruc
I am one lucky lady

I am still hoping that it is a rumor though I like to save $$$$:thumbsup2

If there are only 2 adults & 1 child traveling, keep your eyes open for a room only discount. The villas are usually 35% off or so. That might actually save you more money than free dining. You can add the dining plan to a room only discount if you want it, but you will have to make it a package & buy tickets. You get the discount off just the room portion of the package. We are only 2 adults traveling & the room only discounts are always a better deal for us at deluxe resorts.

One more!!! :)

Tomorrow my ticker will start with a ONE. OMG. I might have to add a days one then!!! :)

:woohoo: Only 2 weeks til mine will start with a 1!!

75 days to go!!!! Another question here, to take or not to take ME? My only concern is the arrival of our luggage to the villa. We're not renting a car, but was thinking about getting a car service to and from airport with a stop at the store on the way in. We are arriving at MCO around 430pm, with our luck our luggage won't get to our room until midnight. I know it's "pot luck" when your luggage arrives, but I would like to hear your opinion's/experience with ME. :thanks:

Looks like we'll be there at the same time!! I had the same q about ME... I kind of want to have our stuff with us, just in case it got lost (even though I read you can pack necessities in a carry on). But I also want to get there as fast as possible and wasn't sure how long it will take at baggage claim. Curious to hear replies.

I would like to hear your opinion's/experience with ME. :thanks:

I love using Magic Express. We have always had great service.

Not having to pick up our luggage at the airport in Orlando is so nice. To me it makes it feel like my vacation starts the second I hand my bags to the airline in Toronto.

Once you get off the plane in Orlando, you get to ride the monorail teaser and then you head straight on to a ME bus. :)

I'm always concerned about if the luggage will arrive on time, but that feeling only lasts as long as it takes to look out our room window and see that we are at Disney! :lovestruc

We have had three trips to WDW with ME and in each case we found something to amuse us right away - heading to MK, heading to the Luau at the Polynesian and on my non-park trip, heading to Downtown Disney. In each case, the luggage was in the room when we returned.

All that said, we always pack a carry on with a change of clothes and our swim suits, just in case anything were to get lost along the way.

I think the real trick is to not sit around your room and wait for your luggage, but rather go out and find something to do and you will find your luggage there when you return.

I always put enough underwear and a clean tee shirt in my hand luggage (do this for any holiday you never know if the luggage will be at the end of a flight) and take the ME, but then again I do like the odd drink on the plane and I can't do that if I have to fly from the airport.

We love Magical Express- we have used it for all 3 on-site stays at WDW without any issues. We don't know what time our luggage arrived, because we are always in one of the parks (usually MK) right after we check in.

In my opinion, using Magical Express is one of the major perks of a Disney vacation. We always mention it when we are traveling elsewhere and wish that our bags would just appear in our room.

Great advice from PaulaSB12- pack a change of clothes, maybe a swim suit, any valuables and any medication in your carryon. We then leave the carryon with Bell Services if our room isn't ready.

What are the rules when you use a car service? Do you have to pickup your luggage and bring it to the Magical Express area? If you are using a car service because you want to stop to shop before you get to the villa, then I would just take my bags along. You can then check those into Bell Services if your room is not ready when you check in. You can read more about Magical Express on the transportation forum.

We used a car service for our trip to Orlando (The Dark Side) last summer and by the time we got to the baggage area, all of our bags were already on the turnstiles. I think that is because a lot of luggage to Orlando is already routed.

And here is my bonus packing tip, even though you didn't ask:

Instead of having individual suitcases dedicated to each family member, when we are checking in multiple bags, I always divide everyone's clothes into each of the suitcases. Even if one gets lost everyone still has some clothes.

I have never been in a room that had a Pack N Play, so yes, I believe you would have to request that at checkin.

That was the case for us when we went December 2010, it was just the 3 of us. But this year there are 6, my parents and brother will be joining us :). As long as I am going to Disney World I am happy.

Teena, I just read your post about Jeanne gettign married. Congratulations to all. The Disney Fantasy is docked in NY right now and the news has done two stories on it. Looks gorgeous.

Good morning everyone! I'm sure you've all had those crazy Disney dreams, right... well I had a crazy Beach Club dream last night.

The Beach Club wasn't what I expected when we got there, it was a big, old, rundown house. When I checked in with the two boys (DH didn't come for some reason) we were sent to a room that connected with several other rooms. You had to walk through the first three rooms to get to the fourth room. Dee was there & she was staying in the first room and gave us our choice of the other three. Then she told us she had family coming that wanted to stay in the second room so we had to choose between room three & room four. We chose room four that had a whole bunch of twin beds. There was also a dog in the room (DS11 is scared to death of dogs!). The dog was a really, really old golden retriever but we had to find a different place for him to go. At some point I realized I didn't know where my kids were. :scared1: And there was also discussion about Dee taking me down to meet Teena! :rotfl:

Only 48 days until the real Beach Club! Happy Friday everyone!

We've had several trips to WDW and we love ME as well. on our first trip, we signed up for it late enough that we couldn't get the luggage tags delivered in time (we're from Canada). We gathered our own luggage and put it on the bus ourselves. Just having the transportation arranged in advance and getting that Disney feeling right away was good enough for us.

One of our children uses a wheelchair, so we always have something to load onto the bus. For us, we don't mind gathering the luggage and tossing it onto the bus. To be honest, I'm such a control freak that I am comforted just knowing it's right beneath me.

All that being said, there's such good feedback on the reliability and efficiency of the service, I'm sure it's A-OK to let Disney handle the luggage. I wish I could "let go", but as long as we still travel light and have to load the w/c, I think we'll still manage the bags. (If only I could convince my DH to let a bellman help us at the other end, but he just loves to save a few $$ and schlep them ourselves. And sometimes it's a l-o-n-g way to the room!)
