I am using ME one way this year. Have never used it. But I was able to rent a car from MCO to drop off near Disney for 88.00 for 2.5 days (Universal). I think that was a great deal so far on what I could find. then will use ME to get to MCO after Disney. DH is rather looking forward to having the departure day stress taken off of him!

Good morning everyone! I'm sure you've all had those crazy Disney dreams, right... well I had a crazy Beach Club dream last night.

The Beach Club wasn't what I expected when we got there, it was a big, old, rundown house. When I checked in with the two boys (DH didn't come for some reason) we were sent to a room that connected with several other rooms. You had to walk through the first three rooms to get to the fourth room. Dee was there & she was staying in the first room and gave us our choice of the other three. Then she told us she had family coming that wanted to stay in the second room so we had to choose between room three & room four. We chose room four that had a whole bunch of twin beds. There was also a dog in the room (DS11 is scared to death of dogs!). The dog was a really, really old golden retriever but we had to find a different place for him to go. At some point I realized I didn't know where my kids were. :scared1: And there was also discussion about Dee taking me down to meet Teena! :rotfl:

Only 48 days until the real Beach Club! Happy Friday everyone!

Lol! That is some dream!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

That is too funny!!!

I can assure you that is not the way it happens. The fourth room is full of cats!

:cat::cat::cat::cat:

Thank you for bringing a smile to my face today!

Just think, the real Beach Club can only be an improvement from that!

DisMomAmy - I have crazy Disney dreams ALL THE TIME!

Just last night I dreamed my friend & I were rushing to get to the airport & we couldn't find the exit out of the park. We kept ramming the SUV into the median trying to get out. The air bag went off & we were trying to pop it so it would deflate because we just needed to get to the airport!

I've had a few Poly dreams, twice I dreamed that there were no bathrooms in the resort rooms, there was a curtain in the hallway & behind that was a toilet that everyone shared, and then behind another curtain was the tub, etc.

I must have some hidden anxiety going on!

2 more sleeps! Teena we'll be coming in on ME around 11am on Sunday, hope to see you then!

(Sorry, I have not processed the post on how to properly quote people!)

This made me spit my coffee out! Too funny. Have a great trip.

I haven't had any crazy Disney dreams in a while, but reading all of yours, I'm afraid one will be popping up very soon.

I just checked my ressie online & the Room Type changed from "Deluxe Studio" to "Deluxe Studio/Handicapped Accessible." I don't care what type of room I have, but we didn't request an HA room -hopefully they just had extra of them & that's what we got. I'd hate to think someone else needed that type of room & didn't get it. Should I question it at check-in or is this normal?

Only 2 more months until my family and I will be at the BC! We are all super excited! This will be my dad's first stay at the BC and for the rest of us it will be our second!! We are trying to get him as excited as the rest of us. Is there anything that I can tell him to help get him excited? We have convered the basics like the pool, food, and how close we are to Epcot. Am I missing anything?

You might want to ask this over on the DVC Resort board or DVC Mousecellaneous board. I vaguely recall reading about some of the handicapped accessible villas. I think I read that water sometimes gets all over the bathroom floor because the showers are wheelchair accessible. I could be wrong, but you might want to look into this further.

How about the smell? Everyone always raves about how great the lobby of the BC smells. Even if that doesn't excite him, hopefully it will make him smile!

Rumor has it hte smell at the Poly changed to a real perfumey scent. Hope BC doesnt'!

A match made in Heaven? Well, maybe not, but this is a duet perfected in France:

Grey Goose Slushie + Refill Mug =

Our roving on the scene reporter has posted this helpful reminder:

~Take a container or chug the remainder!~

GGSrefillcrop.jpg

When hoofing it over to get a slushy, you need to remember to take a refillable mug or other type of 'stealth' container so you can travel with it out of the parks and back to the Beach/Yacht club. Florida has a "No open container of alcohol" law so if Cast Members see you coming toward the exit of EPCOT with what's obviously a slushy or other alcoholic drink they will tell you to finish it or dump it.

Marlton Mom braved an Ice Cream headache  because she wasn't about to dump her hard earned slushie!

The other great thing about using the refillable mug for the slushie is that it prevents precious spillage. Those flimsy containers they serve them in are way too shaky. Or maybe it was me who was too shaky. I found that as I drained more and more slushie, I was surprisingly more and more likely to tip over the cup as I emptied it while booking across the World Showcase trying to balance the cup and also snap pictures along the way. A refillable mug would have made life much simpler!

Thanks to Pixarmom and Marlton Mom for taking one for the team to bring us this important information!!!

You're staying in the Villas, right?

Another question for the wise members on this board--Does anyone on here own DVC? DH has decided it is something we need to look into and now I am lost again. I thought I had Disney under control but DVC is something new.

Yes Teena, a studio in the Villas.

If you didn't request a handicapped room, tell them at check-in that you do not want it (if you don't want it) and ask to be switched to a non-handicapped studio.

Thanks for the info Teena, sounds like a plan! I don't think anything is different other than the bathroom set-up in a handicapped accessible room (or is it?), and I don't mind, unless it really is going to get the bathroom floor all wet - I don't want to flood the place!

I'm more concerned that someone else might need that type of room rather than us.

I'm bringing my BFF for her b-day - we had a good laugh because I said they must know we're coming & getting older, that's why we got that room. She just had her 2nd knee surgery, I have fibromyalgia so I'm often down & out with aches & pain, and together we're just plain clutzy. They must know we need those extra handle bars in the room! :rotfl:

I own DVC at BLT & love it. The Dis has a section on DVC, if you want to check that out or feel free to ask me questions.

I own DVC at AKV... love it! PM me if you want to ask questions or try the DVC thread.

We were put in a handicap room once at AKL.... The bathroom floor was wet all the time. I put towels down right outside of the shower to try and help with the water on the floor. If you can get a regular room I would!!
