Thanks Teena - I've looked on Disney Usa website and the garden view is available for our 3 weeks - now I just have to hope that our travel agent can sort it - I would change it myself if I could. If they can't I think I will call Disney reservations and see if I can add it myself - thanks for your help,

My pleasure!!!! And if your agent says you can always upgrade once you are at the resort, that is NOT true! There's always a chance you could get a complimentary upgrade but you are here for 3 weeks so that is unlikely (only because by the time you get here there may not be a garden view available for that whole time). Be firm!!! You should definitely not settle for anything other than what you want especially because it is available right now.

I am sooo addicted to this thread! Thanks soooo much for all the info! I can't wait to stay at the Beach Club next month for the very first time. I confirmed that we do have a Garden View ressie, so hopefully we have a nice view. I did request a full balcony. I LOVE sitting out on the balcony, so I hope this request can be met.

Quick question....... What is the Atrium? Are there any pictures? I've visited the Yacht/Beach Club many times, but I don't think I've ever seen the Atrium (unless I did but didn't know it was the Atrium)! Thank you!!!

eeyoreland, like MickeyT we do split stays all the time and move our own luggage. My custom is to rise early and drive to the new resort to checkin. After getting our new keys, I drop insulin and anything else that needs to be refrigerated with Bell Services. I tip both at drop off and pick up. It's normally just a small cooler (lunch size) so I tip $1 each time. Drive back to the resort, pack the rest of the luggage in the car and hit a park until we hear that our room/villa is ready.

I know lots of DISers use WDW luggage transfer and are happy with it.

Hello! We are going to be staying at the Beach Club for the first time in March - 2 nights before we enjoy our first ever cruise, on the new Disney Dream (can you tell we're excited?!?). We have a Deluxe CL room. I just read about how not all rooms have balconies etc and I was wondering if someone has info about the location of deluxe CL rooms. What are our chances of a balcony (I like to sit out and drink my coffee while the rest are sleeping!). Do the Deluxe CL rooms all have the same view categories? I'd also like to see how far the rooms are from the lounge. One of our sons has is physically disabled and we do like him to at least be able to use his walker for breakfast etc because he's in his wheelchair the rest of the day.

I'll check my ressies as well...but can't call my TA because she's off at the Dream's Christening Cruise!

Right now I'm in a Garden View room CL at the BC. We've never done CL, but was thinking about it at the BC since I know we'll want to spend some time at Stormalong Bay.

I am thinking that not having the dining plan, might encourage us take more leisurely evenings at the resort.

We are 2 adults and 1 child.

I know we'll still want to keep at least a couple of dinner reservations and probably at least 1 b-fast.

Any opinions from would be appreciated. I already have all my ADR's, except trying to get a Bibbidi Boppidi Boutique one day.

We have our choices narrowed down to : BC, YC, CR, 1BR BCV or BLT. It literally comes down to room size vs. location. We had a BLAST at EPCOT last year and DS's opted to go back a 3rd day rather than a second day at AK. For that reason, and SAB, we would love to be in the EPCOT area. BUT...(always a BUT) the room size and daybed at CR and the extra sleeper chair at BLT have us going back and forth. Can anyone who has stayed at both CR/BLT and BC/BCV help us. (I've wanted to stay at BC/YC for some time now but I'm trying not to be biased).

And have you been in the Poly lobby (I like saying Poly Lobby for some reason) lately. The place can be chaos with Ohana and Kona loading up.

My all time favorite lobby is the WL early in the morning but.....BC wins the overall prize hands down. Love the Atrium.

I'm glad no one things the BC is overly crowded or chaotic... some of the posts i've been reading were getting me nervous.

Here's the info I have on CL Deluxe Rooms. Hope this helps. I'm not sure what the view categories are.

There are six deluxe Concierge rooms at BC.

1557 has a patio and lots of windows.
2557 and 4557 have extra large balconies.
3557 has the standing room only balcony.

3691 has both a standing room balcony and a full balcony
4681 has a standing room only balcony.

So 3 of the 6 have full balconies, 1 has a patio, and 2 have standing room only balconies.

we stayed at YC for the first time last July and LOVED it!!! the resort was beautiful, the pool is amazing, and there is nothing like being able to walk to EPCOT. Staff was very friendly, room was big and I loved having the balcony.

The boat to HS seems to take long when your on it, but it really does get there the quickest (and it's kind of nice to sit back and rest your feet on the boat ride back to YC).

The Boardwalk area is only a walk or boat ride away which is nice in the evenings to stroll over and maybe have something from the bakery.

The bus rides (with the exception of Downtown Disney) were not a problem either. But I hear that several resorts have problems with Downtown Disney busses taking so long between busses.

You will fall in love with the resort, Enjoy your Trip.

I can't really answer your question about the chances of getting a daybed, because it will depend on how full the Beach Club is when you go, and how many families of 5 are there at the same time as you. They are automatically assigned to a room with a daybed.

What do you have for requests on your reservation?

You can certainly ask at checkin if the room you have been assigned has a daybed, and if it does not, you can ask if there is anything available that does have a daybed and meets your requests. BUT if you decide to do this, you should not do the on-line checkin- that is designed for guests who will just take their key and go and not try to make any changes.

I think you can also request a rollaway cot for no charge, but it will be based on availability.

This solves one of my problems. Thank you for posting this. (Even though your were answering a PP question.

We would need a daybed room but if we can request a cot this just may be the year we book BC/YC....now which one???

After much research we have decided to stay at Beach Club in March 2012. Then I started to think that we should have a "back up" resort, just in case we cannot get a discount at BC, we would be open to staying someplace else. After much research we decided on YC. But now I am thinking maybe we would rather stay at Yacht Club as our first choice. The nautical theme seems really nice and all the rooms have balconies. The one strike against it is having to walk over to BC Market for a quick bite.

So my BIG question is, after reading lots of threads and hearing people say they chose YC because there are less kids......will we feel out of place with a 5 year old and an almost 7 year old? Is YC really "stuffy" and "you see alot of suits" or is it laid back? The last thing I need on a vacation is being around bunch of adults who don't want to be around kids! I mean, don't choose Disney if you don't want to see kids! But I do understand people might want a quieter resort. Is YC that resort that the "adult onlys" retreat too????

It is not like we are going to be hanging out in the lobby all day. We will be in our room, at the pool, or at the parks. But I want the resort to have a laid back feeling to it.

You'll be fine. There is usally some convention types around but they usally look like they are having fun too! Plenty of kids around. Like you said "This is Disney!"

I actually have a few questions...

I think you may have trouble looking your "Grand" old boyfriend in the eye after a few days at the friendly laid-back Beach Club. But as Pixarmom said, we are all a little biased around here.

Have you seen the pictures of the little slide on the first few pages of the thread? My kids have been age 7 and up on our trips, so I didn't even know this was there until we returned. A lot of people say even their older children enjoy using this with their younger siblings.

Is there a height limit at the kids pool area?...I ask because last year we wanted to try out CBR-pirate rooms and during our stay our oldest DD(who was barely 7) was right on the line and they were giving us a hard time about her in there...meanwhile older kids were coming in w/out parents and not getting spoken to. I guess 'cause we were right there
She was bummed so we decided not to go in there again...which was upsetting to DD(who was barely 5). DD1 could care less

I have wondered this same question? We are booked for Sept. but I don't want to feel like we don't belong there. A friend of mine was in there this month and said she had to leave cause she felt "akward" but she is very, how do I say this nicely without offending someone, laidback I guess. Maybe Country-fied I mean that in the nicest way. She pays attention to fashion but isn't her top priority to look FAB...now I feel like I'm acting like a snot and I'm not that way at all

Hello all!

After a few changes and much indecision I booked last night at the Beach Club. We snagged a CL deluxe room on a discount, so we're happy. I'm worried that my 4 year old may not like the slide at SAB, but we'll see. Last year we had a fabulous stay at The Grand and we all swore it was the only resort for us, but we were there in July and December and are wanting a change for this June. I feel like I'm cheating on an old boyfriend...

Yay! Welcome to the thread! Dee (natebenma) already posted the fabulous photos of the little slide as SAB, and I'll add our personal experience. Our pre-schooler LOVES that slide. I'd say he went down that slide at least 30 times per day during our July trip. We needed to catch him at the bottom because he couldn't touch the bottom at the end of the slide and the slide goes fast. Sp my husband, two older boys and I took turns catching him. It was so fun to see his pure joy on that slide that we were jockeying for the chance to catch him and had to set up a turn-taking system!

I really hope you are happy with the change to BC! To us, it feels much more updated than GF and the theme and room decor is more our style. And while we like the monorail, we love walking to Epcot and DHS. Mickey T would be good person to comment on the differences because he stayed at both earlier this month.

I don't know the official policy, but as you can see from the photo, the lifeguard is positioned directly in front of the slide. In our experience, the lifeguards are very appropriately strict about rules regarding beverages, turn-taking, running, and sliding down facing forward.

We didn't use the slide much in March, but on our first day in July, I asked. The lifeguard said it was absolutely fine for our entire family to go down the slide. So our pre-teen boys went down the slide, my husband went down the slide and I went down the slide several times over several days with several different lifeguards stationed there. As long as the older kids and adults observed the turn-taking and other sliding rules, everyone could enjoy the slide!

OT-I may have a photo assignment for you, if you choose to accept it, but it doesn't have anything to do with this forum. Do members of your family ride the Dinosaur attraction at AK? I'm looking for a picture of a poster in the gift shop at the end of the ride. I can PM if you think you will be going there.

We arrive at BC on February 7!

I'm happy to accept the Dinosaur photo mission! Our older boys like Dinosaur and enjoy posing creatively for the photos on the ride. We do rider swap, and I take our youngest to the gift shop to look at Vinylmation while we wait. So I'm happy to have a mission during our wait time! So send the details and let me know if you have other missions!
