The things I miss most now that I live in Florida: (1) Jersey corn, (2) Jersey tomatoes, (3) Tastycakes (my favorites are chocolate tandycakes, coconut juniors and chocolate juniors and Bob's favorites are peanut butter tandycakes and jelly krimpets), (4) REAL Philly Cheesesteaks, and last but not least (5) the Philly pretzels that they sell on the street corners right over the bridge.
I'm surprised that you can't get good corn down in Florida. At Eckert's Farm in Tabernacle NJ (for the South Jersey DisBoard people: the stand is located on Route 70 in Medford and at the Collingswood Farmers market) they pick it fresh that morning and you can really tell the difference. To make an analogy for those of you not familiar with fresh picked corn, it's like the difference between fresh baked bread and the mass produced loaves in the bags on the supermarket shelves! The corn usually isn't ready until around the 4th of July depending upon the season and the Eckert family plants different seed strains so you have early varieties, mid summer and fall ripening varieties that are available until about early October!
The tomatoes from Florida we
know about!

The only tomato that we can get that is halfway decent from Florida in the winter are the "Santa sweet" and "ugly" brand tomatoes. Do you know that one guy in Florida has the exclusive rights to the "Santa Sweet" seed hybridization and he licenses it for a kings ransom! Factory farms around here started to grow them in the summer when fuel prices shot up and it got to be really expensive to truck tomatoes up from the south. It seems like everyone has lost their minds and doesn't know how to grow a good tasting tomato any more. They only want to grow the ones that appear to be super model perfect and will stay on the shelves for 4 weeks! Thankfully at the roadside farm stands we can still get the best tomatoes.
As for the pretzels, they have a new outfit around the area called The Philly Soft Pretzel Factory
http://www.phillysoftpretzelfactory.com/#/home/ This is the place to go for pretzels as they are HOT and FRESH out of the oven and they are to die for.
Palmyra is still going strong and it's a lovely place to live. Villari's Milmarian is still open and recently had a make over featured on the Food Network. Maybe you can catch it on TV. Follow the link for more info on that.

When I was a little girl I got to throw the nickle in the basket when we crossed the Tacony Palmyra bridge! I never missed either! Now they want 40 nickles in that basket each time you cross so it makes one think about swimming for it instead
Are you staying at the BC or YC?
We are staying at the Beach club from June 10th to the 20th.
Don't know what CMs you talked to about the room categories at the BC but they definitely do NOT all have daybeds in them.
Thanks for the heads up. I will call back and change my requests to 2 queen beds with a sofa.
If you want a sofa/day bed in your room and your party mix is 3, then please don't be upset if you don't get one. These rooms (remember, only about 50% of the rooms have sofa/day beds in them) are held for families of 5 ... they have to have these rooms, so if we are pretty full and have lots of families of 5 or even families of 4 where the children are older boy and girl, they will get those rooms first.
I understand totally. Having the sofa is very important to us but if it's not meant to be then we will make the best of it. Thanks for the information! I don't want to drive the room assigners crazy so it really helps to know that I need to prioritize my requests to maximize my chances for success.
Teena thanks for all your help in answering every one's questions here on the board. I just think it's super of you to volunteer your time to do this. It means the world to us and it really exemplifies the care and concern that Cast Members demonstrate towards their guests.
Since you were so kind to share what you miss about South Jersey I thought I would share with you the top 5 things I miss about Disney World.
1) Walking into the Magic Kingdom, emerging from under the train station and being hit with the feeling that you are in paradise once again.
2) The breakfast buffet at the Crystal Palace.

Pooh's French Toast is the
Golden standard by which my family judges all other French Toasts.
3) Sitting on the rockers on the porch of the Town Square Exposition Hall and watching people leave the Magic Kingdom at night when the park closes. There is something just so wonderful about taking all that in!
4) The Biergarten in Germany. It's such a familiar and fun experience for us and it reminds us of family and fun times.
5) Touring Walt Disney, One Man's Dream at HS. There is something so touching about being reminded where everything came from and knowing that if you follow your dreams, wonderfully magical things can happen!
