They do guest surveys early in the day in the BC lobby... Maybe you could take a guest survey and tell them there is a certain cast member you were hoping to see but can't find ? What's up with that?

I am SO sorry to hear about your hours being cut.

The things that makes me crazy is I just hope Disney knows what a gem they have in you as a BC greeter. I know I've written every time we came back to guest relations and I always tell them how you epitomize Disney helpfulness and spirit.

It seems nuts that they would worry about giving college kids the hours and cutting the hours of the Disney employee who won the most prestigious Disney award for service!

Sending pixie dust that this is very temporary!

Good thing you have your cruise to look forward to!

I am wondering if anyone else will be at the Yacht Club 11/21-27 ?! The family can't believe it is so close. My gs "know" we are going but dd says they can't grasp the concept. I cannot WAIT to see the expression on their faces when we hit MK.

Teena, I knew you wouldn't be there when we are, but I am sorry to hear about the cut in your hours. I remember years ago when we stayed at the BC my dd and her friend were enthralled with the idea of someone greeting them every time they entered the hotel.

Thank you, everyone, for all of your wonderful advice. Becasue of what I read here, I put our dgs on our room so they could enjoy SAB. I still have a couple of ADR's to make...lots of choses and can't decide!

Just booked our summer trip!

We're doing something we haven't done in a long time - a split stay. DH usually hates to move once we've unpacked but the kids talked him into staying at the Poly over the 4th of July. The last two times we've been at Disney on the 4th we've been at BC or YC and watched the 4th of July Illuminations - so we decided to switch it around a little and watch the MK fireworks on the 4th this year.

So we'll be at:

Polynesian June 30--July 5 in a gv cl room. We've never stayed cl at the Poly only gv or tpv. I thought that being able to watch the fireworks from the lounge instead of fighting the crowds on the beach would be worth the extra money. If anyone has stayed cl at Poly recently tell me all about it!

BC July 5-July 15 gv cl room. Hoping for the same room or same area as last year. I'm so glad they switched the categories so that you can book a gv cl room and not worry about getting a view of the roof!

Then we'll be going to Hilton Head July 15-19 for some rest after the not so relaxing Disney World vacation!

Now I really hope I can get a good pin code or AP rate - the rates seem so much higher compared to value season but DH and the kids really wanted to do the 4th of July at Disney again this year.

Can't wait!!!!!

WOW DisneyMomx7!!! That sounds wonderful!! I wish I was part of your family!! What lucky kids, I wish my hubby enjoyed Disney as much as I do.....but alas, he DOES like it, just in smaller increments with a fair amount of time inbetween visits. My upcoming trip with my Disney-loving 14yo son and myself (this FEB) is supposed to be my "getting it out of my system trip" Little does he know, I don't think you can "cure" a Disney love affair!!! Sadly, however, if I want him to come with me, my next trip to the world won't be for another 5 yrs. at least. I will probably be able to convince him to join me for our 25 anniversary celebration. Then after that, I'll need grandkids to share the magic with!!!
It must be nice to live fairly close to Disney and be able to go often. I seem to see a lot of people from New Jersey visiting WDW often (it must be fairly close??? [i'm a Canadian talking here, so my american geography is a little lacking, LOL]....in any event, your trip sounds amazing and it will be wonderful to spend 2 weeks there!!!!
I am going to cherish every single minute of my upcoming trip as it will have to sustain me in my dreams for quite a long time!!!

DH is self employed (CPA) so that makes it a little easier to take long trips.

Also since he has his own business he's works long hours. We always say we need these long summer trips to reconnect as a family - especially as the kids get older.

When we fly it takes a little over 2 1/2 hours. This year we're driving and it takes 18 hours. When we drive we always stop at Hilton Head for a few nights to relax. My IL's used to live in Hilton Head so the kids have lots of good memories there.

Luckily DH is as big of a Disney freak as I am so he loves it too!

Yes - that would be great!

After all the fiasco with flying last year we decided just to drive!

Of course we are crazy and on the way down we drive straight through - 18 hours. I think the adrenaline of going to Disney helps us stay awake.

Do you know when you are going this summer?

I'm hoping to meet up with all the BC/YC fans I missed when we had to change our vacation from July to August.

I told dd I'm keeping her in bubble wrap this year until after Disney!

Hi There all!

I am one of those "resort switchers" you hear about. I just got a pin code so I switched from the Wilderness Lodge to Beach Club from March 4-13, 2010.

I am also going to be there for a brief two night stay at BCV after our cruise on December 21-22nd. Couldn't be happier to be spending time at one of my favorite resorts!

Now that the older kids have graduated from college (one ds is in his last year of law school) we're just biding our time before it starts all over again with the younger ones! We're making our memories now before we get hit with college again!

oh, yeah.... when college comes I probably won't be going much of anywhere for awhile!! My oldest son is 18 and last yr. of highschool this yr. so college/ trade school of somesort is in our very near future!

I have one in college and one graduating HS this year, and the last two times I have been to WDW, it has been an adult only trip and to me that is the sweetest...

The visits are so different when we are by ourselves. As you say spending more time to smell the roses.

We took the grandchildren in July, and even though we enjoyed ourselves tremendously, we are looking forward to our quiet no rushing, relaxing visit in December.
