After waffling between between club level or not for our 25TH anniversary trip in December I opted for booking a standard room. We will be staying 3 nights so I decided to buy tickets for MVMCP and scored reservations at the Bistro de Paris. Was debating on surprising my husband with an anniversary cake in our room versus at the restaurant. Would love any other tips or suggestions for an anniversary trip.

Glad you got it taken care of.

ETA: Never mind... I see your trip is in February! :yay: But, in case others had not already seen this change:

I think I remember you saying that one of the potential ADRs you intended to keep was for Le Cellier. I need to check your "ticker" but I am curious... are you going for lunch? I read recently that dinner is now going to be 2 TS credits starting in March 2011.

Hi PNO4TE :wave2:
I am booked for a dinner at LE Cellier.....The change does not take place until mid/later Feb, I believe is what I read.....I just remember that I came in under the wire! I LOVE LE Cellier!

Close to lounge would be great since you have to use the elevators (near lounge) to get to the lobby where you need to be to get to all the places you are going (pool, bus stop, boat dock, epcot).

Thanks Teena :flower3: That's what I requested.....Full Balcony close to lounge. I can't wait!!!
This time I won't be too shy to say a big :wave2: to you! :goodvibes
It will be here before we know it!
Have fun at your daughters helping set up her classroom next week!!!

PS.... One thing that i just though of....It will be Very early when we arrive (Flying from West Coast Canada at Midnight, arriving around 7:15 AM, by the time we get there it will be close to 9 AM...... I was thinking I might take a small nap before hitting the world, but then I realized....our room probably won't be ready until the afternoon!!! YIKES....I better get my zzzzzzz's on the airplane if I can!!! Whew, it'll be a long first day!)

Oh, and one other thing...apparently the new online dining reservation system has really impacted the availbility of ADR's. As you all know, people are making many, many ADR's and not cancelling. I heard from the Club Level staff, as well as the hostesses at two restaurants, that they are encouraging people to walk up, as so many people are not showing up for their ADR's. Thought that was a good tidbit of information

Thanks so much for the trip report, and particularly for that bit of information. We just booked an absolutely last-minute stay at the YC for Labor Day weekend, and we are having a beast of a time making ADRs at any of the places we want. We'll try the walk-up strategy if none of the ADrs come through, and hope for the best!

On a side note, I am very excited to be staying at the YC! I think the kids will love SAB!

If I want a club level room with a review of the Boardwalk, which category should I book? It seems a lot of rooms with views of the water look over towards the Yacht Club, rather than out across to the Boardwalk.

Thanks.

a fireworks cruise for either illuminations at epcot or wishes at magic kingdom may be nice.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the posts on this thread - we were able to switch from POR to BC for our 9/4 trip this week and all the info helped a lot. Hope to meet Teena and all the great staff. So excited!

Kids start back late to school this year due to construction so just wondering how crowed the resort will be the week starting 9/4 to 9/11?

Thanks :)

Hi All!

Just got back August 14 from YC. Had an AWESOME TIME! I do have a few questions though.

We want to go back in Late January for 7 nights, but Disney said they could not offer the 40 percent off room rate for the garden/standard level only water view. Does anyone know why?:confused3

Also, what is the CL like at the Yacht Club? Is it worth it?

Thanks so much everyone!

We were just there for our anniversary and I debated about the cake but it was pretty expensive and in our short trip, I wasn't sure we could even eat the cake realistically! I had chocolate covered strawberries and a big white chocolate mickey mouse delivered to the room while we were out and about. With delivery and everything I think it was around $55.00 and a reasonable size to eat! DH raved about the white chocolate mickey the whole trip. :) Have a great trip!

Hi all! I stumbled upon this site earlier this week and wanted to let you know that I appreciate the WEALTH of information I have gleaned from skimming the last two incarnations of this thread. My only wish is that I would have found it sooner. We will check in to BC tomorrow and will be there through 8/29! Fortunately, it is only an hour's drive from us. I'm hoping to have my laptop repaired and be able to check in here to see what others are up to. Teena, although you don't know me from Adam, I'll be sure to stop by and say hello! We have 1:30 lunch at San Angel tomorrow, and if I don't get to bed I'll be dragging by 4pm! Thanks again for the great info. I hope to be more of a regular around here, now that I've found such a great resource! Angie

So great to see so many new posters!! I read this thread daily and post some and am still keeping track of the oct trips -- will update that today!

Re the question on 40 percent off. WDW only offers the discounts on room categories they feel they need help filling so they must have sufficient bookings already for standard view rooms. Or the discount does apply to say 20 standard rooms (# totally made up) and they've already been booked. If someone cancels then the discount would be available again until someone books the 20th room. At least that is how I understand it.

Hope everyone at BC/YC/BCV this week has a magical time !! So excited in 9 days I can say we are going to wdw "next month". Granted late in oct but still!

as far as the YC CL question...I loved YC CL! its been since Labor Day in 07...but we founf the CM's to be very attentive....we received our request of a King...and were even upgraded from Garden to Lagoon view...!

We found the lounge to be always stocked ..we never used the balcony, although it was a nice sized balcony...you do view the front of the resort though.

I have read some CL rooms can he a walking distance to the lounge...so you may want to keep that in mind, or someone else will post with more knowledge than I :)
We had a fabulous trip..and I am SO excited that I will be checking in on 9/30...my BFF got an awesome BB offer...! SO I will so enjoy it , esp with participating in the Inaugural Wine&Dine 1/2 marathon!!!

As far as being "worth it"..that really boils down to a personal decision...what may be worth it to me, not worth it for others.
They assist with pre planning...ADR's and such...esp helpful with events during F & W.
It is nice to go there, get a beverage...adult or not....fruit...snacks....appetizers...(all on a schedule throughout the day.

You may also want to visit this thread for more CL info:)

We found it to be worth it, but we had the 4j0% that was applying to CL stays at the time. The CL staff (Regina specifically) were wonderful. The lounge was always stocked with drinks and goodies throughout the day.

Since that stay, I'm not sure we could go back to WDW without staying CL.

I know a previous poster pretty much answered why only the garden/standard view is available. It may change as you get closer to your date. We originally had a garden view room with a 40% off pin for October. When they released free dining a lot of people suddenly changed reservations. Our trip dates were during the blackout period. My TA was able to switch us to a CL room with our code. So unless your code is specifically for a garden view it might be worth your while to check back now and then.

I hear a lot about pin codes for discounts. Where do you get these?

PINs are generally emailed to you from Disney, or sometimes sent via regular mail. It's my understanding that there's no known method for how people are selected to get them. I've had luck getting them, and have heard others experience the same, when I search for rates for packages/hotel rooms on disneyworld.com and save a search result. A week or two later, I'll get an email with a subject along the lines of "Experience your resort picks..." and a PIN code will be somewhere in the text of the email explaining the discount I can get.

For those of you with a room request (we requested a full balcony) have you or do you check-in in online or wait and do regular check in when you get there?

I am just wondering what other people have experienced. We are trying to decide what to do since we are 1 month away!!! :woohoo::yay::cheer2:

If you really want a full balcony, it is recommended that you forgo the on-line check in and wait until you get to the resort to check in. That way when you arrive you can see if your request was granted and if it wasn't you can ask them to change your room to a full balcony if available.
