Anyone else???

What time does the BC CL open in the morning?

coffee is set up at 6:30.
Breakfast is 7-10:30.

It is a really nice breakfast. When we were there a few weeks ago they had oatmeal with several toppings, bagels, croissants, fruit bread (like banana bread) mini muffins, a pastry, yogurt, cut up fruit, whole fruit, cereal and juice! A great way to start the morning.

According to Teena, the number of king beds throughout the resort is very small. I don't know the number or if those rooms are smaller, but if you have a waterview booked and want a LAKE view and that is the most important thing for you, that is what should be on your request.

Don't do the on-line checkin, and when you get to the checkin desk on your arrival day, ask the CM about your room- the view and bedding arrangement. You can ask if there are other rooms available that would suit your needs better.

You could also word your request:
Lake view, please. If possible, king bed.

Ok, we will at least change over to just a lake view request. Thank you!

Just signed up for my F&W demos! Only 72 days until my dream of staying BC during F&W comes true.

Hi from Vegas. I hate this place. I'm coughing and have a bloody nose already and I've been here less than 24 hours. I can't breathe. I'm wheezing. How in the world to people live in the desert?

Anyway, there are very few king beds. By making that a request, you definitely limit the number of rooms available with the view you want.

Yeah, Vegas in the summer is terrible. I have gotten bloody or at least really dry noses year-round there, though. A lot of people love the "dry heat," but I think it's just too hot in the summer there no matter what!

Thank you for the help. Sounds like it would just be better to forgo the king bed request.

Hi,

When I stayed at the BC a few years ago I had to walk to the YC to get coffee early in the am. I want to say they were open around 6. It was a small little area that had coffee and a few baked goods close to the YC lobby. Does anybody know if that is still there and what the hours are? Besides making coffee in my room are there any other alternatives? I know about boardwalk bakery but I kinda want something quick at the resort. I may just resort to making coffee in my room this trip although I hate to do that, I am sooooo spoiled with my keurig.

Thanks a bunch!

Jill

I hate to even post this but do think people may want to be aware.

We just returned from a 12 night trip, 5 of which were at the Yacht Club. Overall it was absolutely amazing, is by far my favorite resort and the CM's were just gems so many different times while we were there it made our stay that much more magical.

However it does appear that items were taken from one of our two rooms while we were there and we have narrowed it down to each item being taken from the pop up hamper that I travel with. It was a variety of high end kids clothes and hit 3 out of our 4 kids, so different sizes and sexes. I am sorry to say it was rather smart thievery. It would be easy to chalk up missing items to a kid leaving a pair of shorts at the pool, under the bed, etc and at first that's exactly what we thought had happened. Unfortunately, all of the items had been placed in the hamper by the 3 kids separately, on different days and not a one of them made it to the laundry itself which we never left unattended during the entire time. Ultimately it just added up to be too many things with too many kids to have just been misplaced and we do know, by pictures, that all of the items were worn after we moved from WL to the YC.

So I guess, just a note not to have your laundry out so easily. I imagine whoever did it figured we'd blame the kids (which we did at first) or not do the laundry while there and thus not notice till we got home. I think we all think to protect electronics and other valuables like cash, cards and jewelry with the safe but this isn't something that you really can protect yourself from I guess unless you leave everything in the suitcase and actually lock them. Which of course it not the way anyone wants to travel and so of course I know it's a risk we take when we do travel. Still, it was disappointing and the short term result was 2 kids without enough shorts for the remainder of our stay.

We did have our share of challenges getting housekeeping to look for the items prior to determining they were in fact taken and all told, between that and the shirt sent to dry-cleaning that was lost for 3 days I can't say I was overwhelmed with the customer service on the phone from Housekeeping. Other than that the rooms were spotless though interestingly enough one of the two never relieved the condiment pack for their coffee maker any of the days.

I do hate to even have to share this with all of you. Despite the 4+ hours of calls over a 4 day span I can honestly say it did not detract from the magic of our stay and my feelings about the resort and once we did finally get through to the right people, management, security and guest
services things moved a heck of a lot faster. So far anyway. We will see.

On a completely unrelated note, if anyone is remotely considering doing the Illuminations Cruise from the BC/YC I would highly highly recommend it, it was worth every penny!

Teena......look for Ayr Nasal Gel at one of the local pharmacies.....it's the same thing as Saline Nasal Spray, just in a gel form, and it's great for dry noses. I took a tube with me when we went to Vegas three years ago. :thumbsup2

Nora94 "One important note on the Beach Club/Yacht club resorts - Early magic hours started at 8 a.m. BUT there was NO place to get a hot (good, filling) breakfast before 7:30 a.m. Well, if you are going to be at the parks by 8, you had to be out for a bus by 7:05 or forget it. So, there were MANY mornings when we were going to the parks starving."

You know, I just did a quick review of our stay at the end of July. I did fail to mention that I really like the convenience of Capt Cooks which is open 24 hours as opposed to MarketPlace. There were a couple of occasions that we would have loved to grab a snack or something but the Marketplace was closed. This is not a big factor for me, probably why I forgot about it, but expanded operating hours is something that would be nice.

Use the saline nasal sprays they do help. I was there the first week of August.

Teena, I have a 2 bedroom for Oct 11-17. I have a need for either a quart or half gallon of orange juice. We are unable to make a grocery stop for this. Would this be available for purchase in the Marketplace? Thanks and we'll be seeing you in a few short weeks.

I know they sell OJ there ... not sure of size. I'm sure one of the guests that were just there would know better than me. Unfortunately the only thing I go in there to buy is my husband's two favorite desserts - the key lime tort and the fruit tort.

Teena, I wanted to thank you for the great advice about our connecting room and different arrival time challenge for our linked, but separate reservations. Your advice was spot on, I got up early, took a cab over at 8am, checked in and our room was ready! Not only was it ready, connecting (they put a hold on the connecting one till my in-laws arrived, which was standby and due to a medical emergency the night before, they didn't get in till 1am) it was also the exact view I'd requested! (courtyard or quiet pool, we had the quiet pool). I was able to get there, check in, check out the room, grab an Americano (very tasty!) from the Crew's Cup and be back at the WL just in time to catch the Ranger Tour which had been my goal. All in one hour! I'd planned for 1.5 hours but couldn't move earlier!

It was lovely. Our luggage and groceries beat us back there! Poor Bell Services made 3 trips as he kept forgetting parts (1 trip with the luggage, 1 with most of the groceries and 1 with the bag that had been in the refigerator) but still, we were able get the kids in SAB by 2:30 while I unpacked and still had enough time for some pool time for me before our 7:25 dinner ressies at Tutto.

We did realize, at midnight when my in-laws luggage was brought up (it had arrived early due to their standby status) that their room had not been cleaned but housekeeping arrived right away and it was ready by the time they actually checked in.

Thank you SO much! I am confident it would not been nearly as smooth without your advice.

I also wanted to compliment the concierge services and private dining team at the BC. We had booked an Illumninations cruise for the 17th. Our plan had been to do a 5:10 dinner at Kouzzina and between arriving back later than planned and the lightening delays at the pool, we decided to blow it off so everyone could get pool time. I had called prior to our trip about private dining deliveries and was told 3 hours prior. At 2.5 hours prior I went to the BC desk as I was hitting the marketplace for in in laws during the lighting delay while everyone rocked on the YC porch and wanted to see what the CS options would be if we went that route.

I stopped by to see if they could connect me to private dining and they were able to confirm they could still deliver pizza despite it being after the cut off. When I realized I didn't have cards with me to pay for it and would need to go back to the room, PD said, no problem and then allowed us to add another pizza and a bottle of wine just 2 hours before the cruise. I can't recall the CM's name but she was rather pregnant, originally from Ohio I believe and just lovely to chat with!

It COMPLETELY saved our night and having pizza on the cruise was just magical! And it was pretty tasty too!

Last but not least, it seemed they were checking room keys at SAB much more on our arrival day, the 14th, then on any other. The other days were really casual and they were only looking at the adult keys.

You're very welcome. Glad it all worked. As far as checking room keys at SAB, we've been told the only time things may be not quite as "strict" is after 5 PM and once winter gets here (when it's 50 degrees out).

we were prepared for them to be but it was a nice surprise that it was more casual. We did have some later swims though so that may well have had a lot to do with it. It seemed we kept hitting lightening closures earlier in the day.

HI,

We are booked in a club level suite at the BC end of October. This is our first trip with our 2yo son! We are very excited....if he only knew what to expect! Some questions....Are the club level rooms in a certain area ? What rooms have the best view/location? We also want something quiet (so our 2yo son isn't woken up during nap/sleep). IS there a certain room or view/area we should request....Also are there balconies in these rooms and are they off of the living room or the bedroom??

Thanks !!!!

I did, almost missed it as fast as this thread moves! Had to search to find it. Just uploaded all our Disneymoon pictures to Facebook and I also have a great shot of the meet -can you explain how to post pictures on this site, maybe I can add it?

If you are comfortable e-mailing the photo to me, I can post it and also make print and mail a copy to Teena. I will PM you later with my e-mail address. I have to clear some PM posts first, I am at the limit!

Thanks! Dee
