Always use the yellow tags so we don't have to touch them until we unpack them. This next trip we can't do that as we'll be spending the night at the airport Hyatt before heading over to YC the next day (got a cheap flight on a Sunday evening and a free room at the hotel from points).

Thanks for the information on picture posting. We'll have to try it one of these days.

The Hyatt does provide a service where they will pick up your luggage from the carousel for you (and, I believe, deliver it to DME the next morning). I'm not totally sure how it works (or what it costs), but you may want to look into it.

Is there a meet planned for the September DISers? I've combed the thread since this post, but didn't see any and thought it would be fun. We'll be there the third weekend of the month. Thanks for all the great information on this thread!

Nothing is planned yet since we don't have more then 2 or 3 DISers there at the same time.

Wow janloz! You work fast. :thumbsup2 I can't wait to get one of the pins...they look great! Now I have to figure out when I can get back to the BC!!

They are very easy to do. I printed the insert and cut them out over the weekend and then put them together in about 45 minutes this morning. Nice thing about working from home. ;) I had to do them in secret since our kids dont know that we are staying at BC and would question why I was making them. :lmao:

Got to learn how to do the picture posting. Love the shot from the room. Glad to hear about the upgrade. It's something I haven't experienced yet in my 30+ years of visiting the World. But I do have a question, how did you manage to avoid the ME desk at the airport? I hate the delay there, it seems like it's keeping me from my vacation.

When we walked up they were directing us straight to the lines. There were people there to scan our booklet and direct us to the right line. Didn't have to stop at the counter. I hated that part also, but it looks like they may have a new system.

The difference in the balconies is that the BC gives you a 50/50 shot at a full balcony while the YC almost assures you of one. The BC has a lighter feel to it, the "dark side" is more into the richer, darker wood feel. The BC has more family activity and the Marketplace while the YC is more convention traffic and a little bit more subdued. And the BC has TEENA!!! What more can you say?

hehehe! Well thank you!!! :goodvibes

Being an early riser I think the marketplace opens way too late. That was my one and only disappointment with the beach club. Sorry to hear you had such a long walk. I definetely requested a room by the elevator for this trip so we'll see what happens.

Also being early risers, and rope drop fans, we were usually on our way to the Boardwalk Bakery around 0625. We found it to be the closest early am food to the BC.

Thanks for that tip. I'll give them a call tomorrow. See, that's what I like about all the friendly DISers here. Never short of answers or suggestions.

You are most welcome. Here is the bit on the Hyatt website:

But your total guest experience doesn't stop there - we provide baggage retrieval and delivery services (fee) to airline check in counters, airline baggage claim carousels, car rental counters, and even to your vehicle parked in the airport garages.

I realize that towel animals are not a for sure and so did my girls, and I did prep them that they may not get them. But after it was requested you think perhaps they would have made more of an effort. Honestly that is one of the reasons that it is magical and I believe it should be a requirement for mousekeeping to know how to do them. They are not that hard and sure do make the trip more fun.

We did do the bakery one day, but again, nothing really hot to eat, more snacky stuff.

We did research all the resorts and thought this one would meet our needs. NOTHING that I read mentioned the times being too late for the open of things. When you go end of July/early August if you aren't there at early open you mine as well not go. EVERY park had fast passes for every ride gone by 1 pm every day. The waits for hot rides like Toy Story Mania were over an hour by the time the park opened for those not staying on property, even Space Mountain had a 1 1/2 hour wait by 9:30 am. And late hours were a joke - at 1:30 in the morning there were still hour to two hour waits at almost all rides. So it was either go early or forget about it.

So, I came on here to post what we found to be issues since even though I read this entire post prior to leaving, asked about the dining plan and food options in regards to the resort, and all that nothing was mentioned about the timing issue. You would think that during peak times the food places would open earlier to make sure the guest could eat and still get to enjoy one the main perk of staying on property - the early magic hours.

Just checking in to say we continue to have a great time here! The weather's been a little rainy but that's definitely worked to our advantage. We walked on to every ride at MK today - including Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain!
Taking the bus to MK this morning for am EMH was a bit stressful. Two strollers, 3 kids, several bags, and a super crowded bus made things interesting to say the least. But it was all worth it when we got there! And we met a really nice family from Albany, NY with 3 teenagers in the same age gap as my kids. It's nice to glimpse the future!
We actually took the monorail back - went via TTC to the Epcot monorail and walked through Epcot. That way we didn't need to fold up the strollers. It wasn't speedy and involved some extra walking but I liked it better (my DH would disagree :lmao: ).
I was happy to see Teena before she left for Vegas. Everyone's been great - from Teena to the wonderful PhotoPass guy at BC who took lots of pics of my kids the other night. It was an unexpected treat since they were dressed nicely for dinner in Epcot!
I can't say everything is perfect but I would never expect that. Everything IS wonderful though!!!!

Just out of curiosity, what types of breakfast foods were you WANTING to have at like, 6am?

They sell cereal, juice, bread, etc. in the marketplace. There are fridges in the rooms. Couldn't you have purchased some cereal and milk, and eaten in your room each morning? That's what we've done every trip where we didn't stay Club Level...it's not a big deal. You get enough in your stomach for a few hours, then get a snack in the parks.

Many people who stay at the YC/BC (or most other resorts, in fact) do this all the time.
