2010 promo information is here! "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day."

I got my voucheres emailed to me last night!! Printed and all set to go!
We had no opportunites around here that I could do with my daughter - everything was age 16 and over, so we did Blankets for Canada and had a blast doing that together. We had to make 2 blankets (and we made 2 really big fuzzy warm ones!) and mail them to Ottawa. Not only did we have fun, but now I know a really cool way to make blankets and plan to make some for Xmas gifts next year!
I didn't know about that tour -thanks for posting photos. What a great day!

We just got our vouchers today. We would like to redeem them for 4-day park hopper tickets. Can this be done online somehow? Or do we have to do it at the gate? How much are tickets at the gate compared to online?

Sunflowersis this looks like a partial answer to your question for the Q&A on page 1:

May I upgrade my free one day ticket to an Annual Pass or multi-day ticket?

Yes, you may upgrade the free ticket to another ticket type of greater value within the applicable upgrade window. However, you are responsible for the incremental cost and the new ticket may only be used by you. No changes or refunds will be given. The value of the free ticket may not be used to combine or upgrade with a separate single or multi-day ticket.

I would assume you have to do it in person (not online) because id is required. I'm just not sure what "applicable upgrade window" means. I'm hoping it means before 12/31/10 when the promotion ends.

I did not know either, that there is an official tour for this promotion. I would like a chocolate treat too please. :)

Has anyone gotten their vouvher e-mailed on a weekend?

Try logging into the website. I received a thank you for volunteering email and then it said that shortly they would contact Disney and we would receive our vouchers. I never got an email that the vouchers were ready (no clue why cause I kept checking spam). Anyway, when I logged into my account it showed all 5 of us had our service confirmed and then I could choose DL or WDW and print the vouchers.

I did this a few times and it still says pending verification! GRRR!

We just got done with ours. It was fun. We had a beautiful (very strange weather) day and got done in an hour and a half. We cleaned a bus for a relief nursery, then made cute birthday crowns for the kids.

We did our service on Monday. Never heard anything again from the organization we volunteered with, even after I sent an email to them saying how much we enjoyed the experience. I kept checking my status on the website & it kept saying pending status. I was getting worried because I heard the organization only had 72 hours to confirm. Anyway, we finally got the email this morning that the vouchers are ready for printing! Whew, I was starting to worry a little.

Overall, it was a great experience. I had a hard time signing up, but all went smoothly after that. I hope I don't run into any problems in a couple of weeks when I try to apply my vouchers to my AP renewal.

Disney says on the website that it takes up to 2 weeks for verification to occur. The organization you worked with sends the info in as soon as you complete service (they get a list the day after the scheduled service and send in verification from the list), then Disney has the verrify the completion and as with anything Disney this can take time. Ours only took 3 days from the time verrification was sent in (our organization let me know as soon as she completed the process) Our service was completed Jan 13, verrification sent to Disney on Jan 14 and the email from "Disney Destinations" on Jan 17.

Here is the email address if you want to add it to your apprioved list, "disneydestinations@email.mydisneyparks.com" so it doesn't go to your SPAM folder.

Thanks for the info...I have even checked my spam folder...I just am worried because the day was CRAZY and with the wind and rain the lady did not seem very organized! I guess I will wait one more week and see! The site says do not contact before you have waited 2 weeks!

We did our day last week. Had a great time helping out at a horse rescue ranch. We got our vouchers this weekend.
Went to print them but it asks what month, and we haven't decided when to go yet, so I will hold off printing them.

Egads....... you are asked what day? This can be a bit of a problem for many. Especially when you do not know yet when you might be able to visit for certain. Do you have to choose a date for certain? TIA

We used our vouchers this weekend. The CM said we were his first. We upgraded our 1 day ticket to a 2-day hopper. The transaction went very smoothly. They gave us each a button with our names on them. Throughout the parks, CM's asked us where we volunteered and what we did. The kids were proud to tell everyone. It was fun!

Great job Lisa! We'll be redeeming ours next month. Where do you do the upgrade?

I couldn't figure out how to do it online, so we did our upgrade at the ticket booth at the front gate. Have fun and make sure to wear your buttons! :thumbsup2

There were a lot of new opportunities today. I've been checking everyday for something to replace the one that fell through. We will be helping to clean/spruce things up at an interactive children's museum. And it says in addition to the Disney ticket, we'll get a ticket to visit the museum again.

I'm going to keep checking though to see if anything else comes up. My son really wants to do something that involves gardening.

I understand that there are certain blackout periods where you can't use the free park ticket, but can you use the free fastpass during the blackout times?:thumbsup2

Yes, they ask what month you plan to visit.
I was hoping also if someone could tell me if it really matters or not, since we aren't sure yet when we'll be going. Anyone know?

No, it doesn't matter. It doesn't print on the vouchers, and somewhere I read (I think it was in the GAD FAQ's) that you don't have to go on the date that you put.
