2010 news from the Magic

I found this tidbit about excursions for the European 2010 cruises --

"Along with the usual Disney onboard activities, the line is working on unique excursions such as dressing kids as princes and princesses before taking them to a castle for a visit and a feast. " princess:

Sounds too cool!

Where did you find this?

Watch the webcast of the official announcement from Monday - it's on the left hand side
http://www.disneycruise.com/news at some point in the announcement they talk about excursions and special things for the kids.

Question 2 .. What if you booked onboard and only had to pay the 50% deposit. If your TA transfers your ressie, are you required to pay the whole deposit, or just the differenct between the 50% you paid and 50% of the required deposit?

Is anyone else confused???

I'm in the process of transferring my dummy booking to my TA. She is a DCL cruise expert, she called DCL and they don't know yet....She is good and will follow up with me as soon as DCL gives her an answer.
We put down $100 each so we know we will have to pay more.......how much more, we don't know yet.

Does anyone know how quickly the European cruises sold out last time.........minutes, hours, days, weeks?!!!:rotfl:
Which category of cabin tends to go first?
Debsx:upsidedow

They did not sell out first day and there was limited availablity on most cruises up to the cruise date in 2007, albeit prices went up.

I personally feel the booking on the Med cruises will be brisk but do not panic they will not sell out, also the Altantics will sell at a reasonable speed but I think they will not sell out.

The Baltics might go either way, its down to the high cost putting people off and if people prefer the hot sun of the Med.

amystevekai&bump:

If you were a guessing person, what would you guess your cost to be? We are also seriously considering the Christmas cruise but I am totally oblivious to what the cost might be.:scared:

I am guessing - and I've run it passed my TA and she thinks (and we both hope!!:lmao: ) that I am in the right ball park - that a cat 6 for 4 of us (me, DH, and two boys who will then be 6 and 3) - $12,000.

But I am hoping it will be less - but I think there is little chance of that now after seeing some of the eurpean prices!! - I just hope its not any more!!:lmao:

Well you cannot get more 'central' than that, nice area near Hyde Park, Oxford street for shopping, Buckingham palace, good connections on the Tube, Central line, Marble Arch, :thumbsup2 Expensive area?

Actually thats not bad, its very nice, just had a look on the internet, it looks great and the location is very very good, you are at the start of Oxford street there for the shops, and the Cntral line links all of the lines, you can also swap onto the Heathrow line at Ealing Broadway from the Central line.

Very safe area and good for the sights.

Can you please share where you got a rate like that for a 2bd unit in London for almost 2 years out?
I would book that in a heart beat if I could.

I own a couple of timeshares and checked to see what was available. I'm not sure it will work out. I'm waiting for a return email. What dates are you looking for?

Looking for 7/16-7/18/2010. Most likely there will be 6 of us so this would really work out well.
I can always check with our timeshare as well to see if there is anything we could get.

Ok, so I go get my mail on Monday and what do I find? Confirmation for the Disney Suite for the January 2, 2010 Eastern Caribbean cruise. I had faxed a request in for inventory a while ago. No phone call, just the confirmation with a date to pay the deposit by. I had the request in with inventory but they usually call. I called to talk to inventory and could not get through. The Disney agents couldn't see the reservation yet and said they had never heard of that happening. I can access it online. I wonder if this is the way they will handle the requests for the summer 2010 requests. I have had a request in for the Disney suite for the new 2010 summer cruises for over 3 years now. I am really excited to take the fam to Europe again. No call yet, but maybe I will just find it in my mail again. Fingers crossed! :confused3

Wow!! In all my years of using Inventory Control, I have never heard of that. Like you stated, they usually call. Was the January date the one you requested?

Yes, it was the date I wanted. Our 30th Anniversary is in the middle of the cruise. Should be fun! I am concerned though that they may not honor my other request thinking that they gave me something already. I noted that I wanted the summer cruise over this cruise if they had to choose. I usually can get through to them to discuss my faxes but they have gone into deep cover for the last month or so. I can't get through or any response to my faxes requesting a call. Very unusual but I guess we are living in very unusual times right now. I am just hoping and waiting on the call now.

That is one of the most desirable timeshare to stay at within the Marriott system. How are you getting it at $185 per night?

It is almost impossible to trade into. Plus, when you look online the rooms are at least $385 GPS per night.

Tell us your secret???

After I know for sure that I can get my room I will let you know. I am waiting for a reply that should take a day or two. I don't want someone grapping my room....
