2010 news from the Magic

DH and I were thinking about booking thru dreams unlimited travel for the first time. Should I not do that and just book the cruise myself thru disney's website? Can they take over the reservation?

Very interesting!!!! :cool1:

Maybe those Bermuda stops that have been speculated...?

The announcement / press event will be held in NYC on Monday. My boss has been invited to the event. Will they sail out of NYC? It is anyone's guess

I do not have the time to read all through this entire thread but does anyone think that Disney Cruise line might be coming back to CA in 2010. I live in Ca and it has always been my dream to book a Disney Cruise for my honeymoon. I mean they are the top of the line and that extra money you spend is so worth it. If not I guess I will have to go to my second choice.

Np all the thoughts are the Baltic and the Med. A few mentioned Alaska but this seems to be disregarded now so sorry, I think you are out of luck.

Won't there be three ships by then?
Maybe one will leave FL to go to CA?

Well I guess I will find out Monday and then I can go on with my planning. I am counting down the hours. I might have to be sick the day reservations come out;)

Considering they just ended a California summer of cruises it will not be there again in 2010. They were there in 2005 and 2008

When I found out about Monday's announcement last night, I was nearly bouncing with anticipation!

My BFF and I have blocked simultaneous lunches from 12:30-1:30pm at our respective colleges. We'll be on chat during the webcast and can't wait to see our options and start making decisions. It doesn't hurt it's her b-day on Wednesday!

We were going to do London/Paris next year, but now maybe we'll wait for Italy in 2010. And we want to do one of the inaugeral cruises. AND she really wants to go to Alaska. Good thing my credit cards are paid off, because the next few years sound EXPENSIVE!

So where/what/how do I have to tune into to hear/see the webcast.

This thread is way too long to try to find the info.

(subscribing...been lurking just too long to not throw my name out there ;) )

I'm sure it will be all over the DIS...but officially it's disneycruise.com/news 12:30 eastern.

so Oct. 6 the itineraries will be announced? When can we book?

Question for those who are DVC members and used points and $$.
I know we can book with a deposit and then if not paid in full switch over to points...or even pay one person in $$ and one in points....but....
We don't know if our daughter will be able to go this far out. DVC said I could add her for $95 processing fee and use points only if there is room on the ship....doesn't matter if there is room for her in our room....
Could I book her and then cancel:confused3 if she can't come....would I give up a deposit or is there a fee to do this?
Does anyone have any ideas?
thanks,

I would go ahead and book her. If you pay points for her, I know you can cancel, but only up to 90 days prior to cruise time in order to get your points back. Heres the kicker - if you cancel, the points go back into the same use year as your cruise. You cannot bank them to use in the next year. Also, they are considered "reservation" points and must be used accordingly. You MAY NOT use those points for vacation club properties at WDW. They must be used to book other resorts, such as the Polynesian, another cruise, Paris, Disneyland, etc. If she is "iffy," I think I would pay cash for her reservation since that would be easy to cancel if she decides not to go. If she decides to come along, maybe you could cancel the cash res and book with points at that time. Hoping this makes sense. Having said all that, I'm a big believer in selling points and paying cash for cruises. I think its a much better value, but I realize some folks don't want to fool with it. Good luck!!
