2010 news from the Magic

I have nothing exceptional to add to this thread (I sure wish I did!) but I wanted to say thanks to Andrew for the recap. I only check the thread every few days and this is a nice summary of what is going on.

I really need a sugar daddy or a lottery win in order to do the travelling that I desire. Dh is insistent that 1 big vacation every 2 years is enough.... boohoo...

Andrew,

Thanks for all info and the summary!!! Looking forward to the August repo cruise!!

Yes as its getting rather long thought I would add in a summary to the best of my knowledge, as you see the odd new thread on the same subject pop up.

As for the cost, Faith, Hope and Pixie dust,

We're boarding the Wonder for the DVC member cruise today - I'll be sure to report back if we hear anything.!

So Andrew, which cruise will you be taking?
Thats the million dollar question, Possible July 17th, means taking kids out of school for max of three days they finish on 20th, well thats the official date might be less.

That would be a 12 night Baltic one,

I still speculate there is something else around the 30th of July, I call it the phantom cruise, DCL do seem to like REPOS mid August so there is about 14>15 days spare, maybe 1 or 2 cruises, if thats Western Europe, ie down the west of France and Portugal, I would be interested in that.

What are you looking for??

2010 SAILINGS - RUMORS, RUMORS, RUMORS

We want to "dish some dirt" about the 2010 sailings. Keep in mind, these are just rumors, but that's how most of this begins.

It looks like the Wonder will be doing 5 and 4 night sailings in June, July and August of 2010. They won't alternate, it will be two 5's and a 4 night. No idea of where it will be going, but it should "ease the pain" for those wanting to sail while school's out and want more than 3 night sailings when the Magic is expected to be overseas.

We already got the glimpse of the Magic being scheduled to be in the Baltics. However, there appears there's a twist to this as it may not be heading there straight away.

From what we've heard, on April 10, the Magic heads on a 14 night Transatlantic voyage. It arrives on 4/24 and begins with an 11 night sailing. On 5/5 there's a 10 night, on 5/15 an 11 night and on 5/26 a 10 night.

Here's where it gets interesting. On 6/5 there's a 7 night. Hmm...could the Magic be traveling from say, Barcelona to England? Are those 10 and 11 night sailings in April and May in the Mediterreanean? It would appear so.

From England, the Magic is scheduled for four 12 night sailings starting on 6/12. These are rumored to be the Baltics, including Copenhagen, Oslo and Warnemunde, Germany.

On July 30, it appears that there's going to be an 8 night sailing. We're speculating this is back to Barcelona. The schedule from there is an 11 night on 8/7, a 10 night on 8/18, an 11 night on 8/28, and a 10 night on 9/8.

Finally, on 9/18, the Magic should be heading "home" on a 14 night Transatlantic voyage.

Again, none of this is confirmed, these are "rumors."

Shh....let's be sure this is kept just among friends.

I would like to do the TA again and a cruise with St Petersburg together but because of the unknown itineraies and the airlines it looks like just one with St Petersburg. I will have to see what the mystery cruise is.

Well this puts a crimp in my plans!

Well this puts a crimp in my plans!

Well the surprise on this is the 'extended' stay in the Med before and after the Baltic's, I have posted since page 22 I herd of a series of one way cruises and all being mentioned in plural, IE a number of cruises, but this even is more than I expected.

Starting in April and ending in September, they must feel Europe is the place to get those $'s in.

Gee...you guys are fast!! No sooner did I get those rumors up and here they are already. pirate:

I'm liking the 4 and 5 night sailings on the Wonder. :thumbsup2

Hey, before the surprise on the extended dates and the extras in the MED we were well ahead of you!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

But thanks for the 'clarification' of the rumors.:rotfl2:

The Wonder, double dip at CC? Nassau and sea day? Or Key West?

I think Disney is hoping that a TA in April will get more takers than the May one did. Kids are on spring break and could miss 1 more week of school. But it would be hard to link up with another cruise because of the school issue. If this is what happens then I am looking at the Baltic with a week before in England.

I was just browsing and it popped up! So I posted. I'm excited!!!! I was originally booked on the former Med. cruises and I'm still kicking myself for cancelling. If this is true, I'd be a happy camper. I was liking the sound of the Baltics, but the Med? Great Britain? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

Nickname 'Lightning' you did very well.

The Med trips were very popular hence they want to do more!!!

Well this puts a crimp in my plans!

Me too!!

It is all very complicated isn't it? I don't think I would do the Transatlantic so early. Not sure if the WB would be better being later or not:confused3

I really don't now what I fancy now.

St Petersburg is still looking good to me(if they go there).

It is complicated, I had herd for a long time it was a series of cruises, 'a number' together, but this even is more than I expected.

I mentioned before the dates didnt tie up and I called it the phantom cruise.
****************************************************

Cutting my earlier summary into the DIS one this might clarify more:-

SUMMARY of what we know, or think we know. Nothing confirmed as yet by DCL.

2010

There is a press event on October 6th,
We are told the information will be in ‘preview’ on DCL website from October 7th.
On sale is said to be October 21st, some reports of the 14th.

TRANSATLANTIC

There will be an Eastbound Atlantic repo, from Port Canaveral, which will be for at 14 nights on April 10, a transatlantic voyage, via Castaway cay to Barcelona; it arrives on 4/24 at Barcelona Spain.

In 2007, this was Castaway Cay, Six days at sea, Tenerife, Cadiz Spain, Gibraltar, and Barcelona.

THE MEDITEREAN-HOME PORT BARCELONA –PART 1

  • 4/24 it begins with an 11 night sailing.
  • 5/5 there's a 10 night,
  • 5/15 an 11 nights
  • 5/26 a 10 nights,
These look like the 2007 Med trips to Sicily, Naples, Rome, Sardinia, La Spezia for Florence and Pisa, Marseilles, and Villafrance for Monte Carlo.

WEST COAST EUROPE/ ATLANTIC TO UK-SMALL REPO

On 6/5 there's a 7 night. The Magic be travelling from, Barcelona to England.

A few small rumours of, Portugal, Madeira, Cadiz, Gibraltar? On the list, Western Europe, UK.

HOME PORT -UK

In Europe the home port is considered to be Southampton or Harwich, both UK. Both about 90 mins from London Airports Heathrow and Gatwick, but also Stansted for Harwich.

BALTIC

From port lists and schedules we have seen we have worked out there is most likely –
NORTHERNEUROPE.jpg

Four 12 night cruises to the Baltic’s from these home ports. I have been posting on various threads since April and more in May, that I felt it was the Baltic sea and Northern Europe, the appearance of the Disney Magic’s name being listed on the Copenhagen port schedule found by Steph, -Taysmom.
http://www.tv.cphport.dk/coins/KbhHa...enAgent&lang=1
for June and July has supported this, starting on June 15th at Copenhagen, and made us feel it is the Baltic, we have an arrival time of 7am in Copenhagen.
2010.jpg

This is a screen print of the last one.
20101.jpg

St. Petersburg in Russia is a popular cruise port and has been mentioned a lot, it clearly has been an integral and planned part of the Baltic cruises. A lot of cruise ships ‘overnight’ in St Petersburg.

We know Germany is included; the port of Warnemunde(for Berlin) has been mentioned a lot, and appeared on the port schedule for Denmark. In fact we have a departure time of 6pm from Germany.

Other ports mentioned, Gothenburg & Stockholm in Sweden.

JUNE 12TH: First Baltic cruise is anticipated as June 12th, Last Baltic cruise ends July 30th in the UK.
  • 6/12
  • 6/24
  • 7/6
  • 7/18

WEST COAST EUROPE/ ATLANTIC TO BARCELONA-SMALL REPO-THE PHANTOM CRUISE

On July 30, it appears that there's going to be an 8 night sailing. This is back to Barcelona from UK. The reverse of the 7 night one above, (June 5th.)

THE MEDITEREAN-HOME PORT BARCELONA –PART 2

The schedule from there is the Med again, as above,
  • 11 night on 8/7,
  • 10 night on 8/18,
  • 11 night on 8/28,
  • 10 night on 9/8.

WESTBOUND REPO TRANSATLANTIC.

There will be a westbound transatlantic back following the same route as the Eastbound but in reverse, on 9/18, the Magic will be heading to PC via Castaway, on a 14 night transatlantic voyage

OTHER BITS AND BOBS

I understand a considerable number of people some 50+ have asked to be waitlisted for suites for summer 2010.

The 50% deposit offer from DCL is due to end October 1st, but I understand it could be extended for a final time of one month to October 31st and then end that would cover he release of 2010 cruises. However note often the special cruises have a higher deposit pp.

The Wonder will remain doing ¾ night cruises all 2010, a couple of 5 night ones, with two stops at Castaway cay and the Magic, will remain on its 7 night Caribbean trips from January to May and September to December, generally as now, might see a slight change in port schedule to cut down on fuel costs.

Tortola for example saves fuel on St Maarten on the Eastern. Port times could be reduced to allow the Magic to go slower on three engines.

I would like to do the TA again and a cruise with St Petersburg together but because of the unknown itineraies and the airlines it looks like just one with St Petersburg. I will have to see what the mystery cruise is.

Well this puts a crimp in my plans!

Mine too. Although, I could do the barcelona to England and then the Baltic.
