2010 news from the Magic

Hi Andrew

I never knew that Travel City Direct was purchased withh XL!! I feel so sad because we did travelled with TCD. It was good. Shame.

We have been looking into Baltic for July, wow, what a pricey!!

We maybe drop Balcony Cat 6 to Cat 2 also no flight for us too.

TCD was a profitable company until the end, but part of XL, it went down with them, I fly Virgin or BA, but they were good healthy competition.

Baltic July you might be on with me!

Is it possible to book cat 12 online or can you just book it if you call DCL direct?

How bad are cat 12's? Are they noisey under the clubs?

I booked a cat 12 for the 2007 Med trip, but was upgraded, so I didn't actually stay in one.

I don't think you'll see cat 12 pricing right away. I'm thinking it will show up as a sale fare closer to cruise time.

So bookings open October 14th. What time will online bookings open then? 12 am on the 14th ET?

I plan on moving our 09 booking to a 2010 Med cruise and booking a Cat. 11. Hopefully, they will release Cat. 12's at a sale price later on down the road. No way we'll be able to stay in anything other than a Cat. 11. I'm looking at the August or September dates since it will work out for us better. Are they usually higher or lower on the price scale? I was hoping with kids going back to school August and September will be cheaper.

Anytime when kids are in school is usually cheaper.

Yes, definitely on the cheaper end - esp Sept. But I did notice that the Med pricing was already cheaper than the Baltic - am thinking they're taking time of year into account already.

Hi everyone. Looks like I'm out! Way too expensive for me. I will however, watch to see if the cat 12's get added closer to sail date.

Steph, are you considering another cruise line?

Someone please give a shout if you see any info about the rest of 2010. I'm tempted to book either a Thankgiving or Christmas cruise. We booked the Eastern for Thanksgiving 09 and the rates were "relatively" reasonable for a holiday time.

Also, the 5 nighters aren't back to back, so I'm guessing there will be 3 or 4 nighters in between? The 3 and 4 night 2010 dates aren't posted yet.

Jodie

There will be an 11 and 10 night sailing for Christmas and New Years, both Southern Caribbean but with mostly different ports. Thanksgiving is a normal Eastern itinerary.

The five night cruises are back to back. There is a 5 night on May 30, followed by a 4 night, followed by two five nights, then four and so on. The itineraries for the 5 night cruises though are different. The first one is a double dip at Castaway Cay and the next one has a stop in Key West.

For med cruises..yes. I don't think I'll be going back to the med for a couple of years. Maybe a TA...will check into it more this weekend.

I am leaning towards the Westbound Transatlantic at the moment. DH would like to do the Med that I could not care less about. I would love to do the Northern European cruise that he is less than excited about. We are both not too bothered about the European repositioning cruises (too expensive for the duration). We are both interested in the Transatlantic. I would take either, but the Westbound has the advantage that it takes in both St. Maarten and Tortola. We would love to see both ports, but would never do the Eastern Caribbean due to the crack of dawn custom inspection at St. Thomas. I wonder how big my chances are to book this next week Tuesday.

I must have missed this. Where did you find this info?

Great! I was hoping for a cheaper Med cruise. We had originally looked at a Baltic cruise when the rumors came out, but wow :scared1: they are too high. The Med and ports look appealing so that's why we've went that route. More than likely we'll book airfare with our Sky miles so that should help the total cost.

She works for Dreams Unlimited so knows her stuff

ANDREW where are you???? Looking at the Baltic. How do you get from the airport to the port? And which airport?

Presume you mean London

There are three main airports nearby in London, Heathrow, Gatwick and Stanstead, each are on the motorway network, (freeways).

M25 and m20 to Dover is easy.

Trains run from all and are on the airports but would require a change in London on the Tube.

I would come in a few days before and stay in London, its a great place to visit, then continue to Dover.

If going by Car, car hire or private town car transfer would be best, but train is also possible.

Disneyland paris is an easy option as well, Fly into Paris stay DLP, get the Eurostar to Ashford and short taxi to Dover.

Dover is about 45 mins from me by car, and 75 mns by train or car from central London, Heathrow would be a bit more.

Trains for Dover would leave Charring cross or Victoria in London, Gatwick has a service to Victoria so connects, Heathrow would go into Paddington, or Tube into London by the Piccadilly line must change

If you can fly to Stansted it might be cheaper for Dover as direct M11/M25/M20, and avoids London and the traffic.
