2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

Oh my gosh...2 more days. :scared1:

OK...so I missed the question the other day about movies: My favorite animated film...there are too many to list. I love The Fox and the Hound, Cinderella, The Jungle Book. And my favorite live-action has to be the POTC movies. Love those!

And on to today's question: My Disney Bucket List...in no particular order:
1. To be DVC owners
2. Eat at Victoria & Albert's
3. Take a Disney Cruise
4. Stay @ every resort
5. Renew my vows in 3 years at WDW (have to convince DH this is a good idea!)
6. Visit Disneyland and Disneyland Paris

So....back to the waiting :surfweb: :rolleyes1 .. trying to keep my mind on other things ... popcorn::

I agree with all of these! Forgot some of those!!

Fav live action: pollyana, the original witch mountain, and also the way underknown Watcher in the Woods. Still scares the hooey out me!

Oh, Missy, I love Pollyanna, too! By far, my fave non-animated Disney movie. And that Watcher in the Woods scared the "hooey" out of me, too. I remember watching it at a slumber party and couldn't sleep the rest of the night. My friends still tease me about it to this day! :rotfl2:

And good luck with the moving....you are a rockstar to be dealing with all of that on your plate! :cheer2:

Favorite live-action would have to be Father of the Bride, I love love love that movie and could watch it 100 times. I'm a sap for a romantic story! Our wedding song was "The Way You Look Tonight" because of that movie. I only wish I could've had Franck plan my wedding! ;)

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend! :goodvibes

Zanna,

OMG, I knew we would get along so well!!!!! I mentioned in my previous post that Pollyanna was my fave non-animated Disney movie....but I forgot that Father of the Bride was a Touchstone (aka Disney owned company) movie...and it is my fave movie of ALL TIME! I can recite it word for word. In fact, I am sooooo obsessed with that movie that my hubby even mentioned it in our wedding vows! HAHA! I also love the fact that they have the wedding dress worn by Kimberly Williams on display at the Wedding Pavilion (or at least they used to) and I think the wedding planning building by the Wedding Pavilion is named Franck's (or used to be)!!!!!

Well, back to the waiting....now you have me in the mood to watch that movie to pass some time!:happytv:

A Disney bucket list is a tough one! I guess I'd have to move on to world-wide Disney Parks. I've pretty much done everything at OUR Disney World, resort-wise and restaurant-wise, did the tour things but I've always wanted to compare our parks and resorts to the others so I'd have to say go to DL in CA, then head over seas and hit the rest of the disney parks and experience the different cultures of those countries as they apply to Disney.

The only thing I can say I'd want to do at WDW in FL is maybe stay all winter at fort wilderness. we want to eventually do that once our youngest is in college or when he graduates.

Simple.

And by the way, this is reliant on my "If I won the lottery" dream.

One Disney park per day, until I hit them all consecutively.

So that is 4 days in Orlando, 2 in Anaheim, 2 in Tokyo, 2 in Paris, and one in Hong Kong (obviously not in that order).

So I figure you start off in Paris for Day 1 and 2, with an early departure that night for Orlando. Day 3 (starting in the afternoon) at Animal Kingdom, then Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios for days 4-6. Leaving the Studios early without seeing Fantasmic, as the private jet has cocktail peanuts warming for the flight to LA. Califonia Adventure and Disneyland on days 7 and 8, with another early departure for Tokyo. Tokyo on days 9 and 10, and Hong Kong on day 11 to finish it all off.

Sound easy anyone?

Hi 2nd Rounders and supporters!

Was away for a couple of days and just getting to ketchup...

Went over to the Space Coast to watch the External Tank make the transit close up through the Canaveral Locks. And a itty bitty touch of the Disney "Magic"... literally! If anyone is interested my report with link to pics is here.

We now return to our regularly scheduled reading!

:)

Wow Doug! You are either very energenic or crazy. I am not sure which? :lmao::confused3:woohoo:

If you made your days itinerary into a week time span then I would be so on with your deal. It would take me a week to really see each the park the way I would like to do it! :rotfl:

First Memory of Disney??

I was about five years old -- They asked if anyone knew the words to the Davy Crockett. I don't know where I found the courage, but I raised my hand. I was invited to sing "Davy Crockett" on the stage of the Horseshoe Palace -- that wonderful variety show in Frontierland! I think they put a coonskin cap on my head and I quietly sang "Born on a mountaintop in Tennessee..."

Whoa!!!

That is about the coolest thing I have ever heard!

:)

Name and tell us about your favorite Disney animated and non-animated movies.[/B]

A few years back that would have been no question on part A: 101 Dalmatians! (The original. Not that 'why-did-they-do-this' live version)

However, then there was the near perfect Lilo & Stitch, a rich, deeply touching story filled with one-liners that could each have been another movie in themselves ("Pudge controls the weather."), and once I came to understand the art of Chris Sanders' most upsetting drawing, I grew to so love that movie and it actually ranks as one of my best movies overall of all times!

For live action, my pat historic answer would be unquestionably, Mary Poppins, but then, does that count? Half of it is animated? But another great movie in any compilation.

So I will choose for my fav live action Disney Movie... POTC, of course.

:)

With that in mind what is on your Disney Bucket List?

Hmmm... ride HM lately? Hehehehee...

#1: Stay in the tower at the Contemporary- that's been there since I first saw the special on TV when I was a wee little one!

#2: Visit DLP. Have 'toured' it extensively via video and photos and there are some things there that are simply extraordinary.

#3: A visit to each of the 'other' DL's around the world.

#4: A visit to the new Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.

#5: A formal public apology from certain persons in positions of authority at WDW.

#6: To be on the Mom's Panel!

:)

Lilo and Stitch is probably my favorite animated movie. The music is fabulous and makes me smile just hearing it. I still find it laugh-out-loud funny after seeing it many times. I also really like the tv show (but not quite as much as Phineas and Ferb, which is the funniest cartoon EVER!).

The Parent Trap with Haley Mills (not Lindsay Lohan) is my favorite live-action movie. I love all the schemes that they conconct for each other and for Vicky. I remember watching it over and over growing up and being completely fascinated with all the dresses that the girls wore. My family and I all quote Rabina by saying, "I won't say a word, not one single word, it's none of my nevermind..." when we are teasing each other about giving our opinions about different things. My dream house (whenever we finally get to stop living in Army housing) would have a courtyard like the house in California with a pool that you could just walk in to at any time.

I have loved reading the various Disney Bucket Lists. It is very interesting how many of the things on the lists are the same or similar. Here are mine:

1. Work for Disney environmental
2. Go through the utilidors (preferably as a cast member but I would be happy to do it on a backstage tour)
3. Eat at Victoria and Albert's with my husband
4. Go on a fireworks cruise for Wishes
5. Go on a Disney cruise on the Mediterranean

YES!! It is named Franck's still - love that place!! I haven't been there since it first opened but I do remember her dress being there then too! Father of the Bride is just SO perfect...I wanted to be in that family!! Maybe we can recite lines together in December?? ;) I need to get that movie on dvd, I was dying to watch it today (if you saw my tweets) but kept hitting roadblocks!

Oh gosh! I totally forgot about the marvelous music!!! Right up there with the soundtrack of Lion King! I actually have a sealed numbered SoundTrack CD of it! (And a second one to listen to! hehehehee...)

I still find it laugh-out-loud funny after seeing it many times. I also really like the tv show (but not quite as much as Phineas and Ferb, which is the funniest cartoon EVER!).

Not so much on any of the follow ups- I thought they didn't quite get it. The original was a personal creation of Chris Sanders at home and was brought in practically done. So the dozens of 1-man department VP's that were busy wrecking Disney animation at the time never had a chance to wreck it- though the events of 9-11 did necessitate some significant changes, that are detectable if one really pays attention- (certain points seem to jump a bit or seem to be not quite set up right.)

What I wanted to see, done with the same depth and pathos as the original, was any of several possible back-stories that were hinted at in the movie. That could have supported a good animation studio for years! Instead, they had their cheap Japanese TV animation studio push out a bunch of shallow glib bits that nevertheless were somewhat entertaining.

The Parent Trap with Haley Mills (not Lindsay Lohan)

Amen!!!

Well, #2 wouldn't take much! At least two of the back stage tours get you there! 3 and 4 not too big a reach either- if you need to fill up a cruise, it is often done via the fan sites such as here! I was one member of an Illuminations viewing cruise (not recommended) and it cost us each 20 bucks!

1 and 5 might be a bit tougher! But, what the heck! Go for it!

:)

Hi, it's Monday morning, :cool1:

Good Luck to everyone waiting news about the next round ...... :thumbsup2

Good morning all!

Anyone else feeling a little nervous/anxious? :scared1:

I think J.L. (NDM #1) said it best on Twitter yesterday...I don't want to lose the happy place I'm in right now. :goodvibes

OK...good luck and pixie dust to everyone.

:surfweb:

Yes, totally anxious here! I kept pretty busy this weekend, but I will be very happy when tomorrow is over--either way it goes. I need to get rid of this anxiety, although as I type that I recognize that even *more* anxiety can come of it depending on the results. :p LOL!!

Good luck to all!! :tink:

Favorite animated movie: Beauty & The Beast
Favorite live movie: Tough choice, but I'll go with the old Herbie movies :)
I'd have to think over my bucket list. It'd be way too long to type right now. LOL!!

Good luck keeping busy till tomorrow, everyone!! So glad I had jury duty to distract me last week. This week should be crazy at work as I try to regroup, and 2 people resigned so that's kind of a downer.
This weekend I will be spending time with my brother, we may be talking about planning a WDW trip before their new arrival in May--that would be so great.

Hmm--Of course I love Mary Poppins, and for animated--I'm going to go with The Rescuers.

Bucket List---yes! to everything everyone else has mentioned!!!!! And if I am ever able, I would love to take(my treat) both of our families to Disney, that is likely the only way some of them would ever get to go.

Have a wonderful day, Disfriends!

This is just the "endurance" version. Way more fun than running a marathon!

I would, of course, go back and visit each for 2 week vacations. Remember, in my bucket list dream I won the lottery, so expense is no obstacle!

Your idea makes me think they should totally produce an "Amazing Race" type Disney Endurance show! Wouldn't that be fun?? Jetsetting to all the parks, but in record time, having to ride all the rides by a certain deadline, and throwing in other obstacles or challenges that contestants have to complete in order to advance! I know *I'd* watch!!! :happytv:
