2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

Hello everyone!

I've been reading and lurking for some time now, but I got the call today and wanted to say Hello!

I was thrilled to find out today that I made it into the Disney Mom's Panel for 2010.... Um, I was too shocked to think to ask if I was full time or part time!

My name is Amy (Lumpling on twitter, amy rue on facebook) and I'm a mom to 2...a nine year old boy and 6 year old girl.

We live in the North Georgia mountains, about an hour north of Atlanta. My husband and I run a restaurant/hotel up here and we run a couple of businesses out of our home!

I'm just tickled that I made it. I really thought that I bombed it during the phone interview! The ole deer in the headlights by phone!

I look forward to meeting everyone, this still feels so surreal!

Oh Amanda is up this way too, and I think it's GADisneyMom (on the current MP) that is not too terribly far away from us. (It's late, and I'm getting mixed up!)

You said you owned a business up here. Where are you and what is the name of it? Just not sure if I've been by it or not. I live about 2 miles from the North Georgia Outlet Mall.

So excited that all my North Georgia mountain girls are making it this year!

We are about thirty minutes from Cumming! Right up here at the foothills in Jasper.

My husband and I run The Woodbridge Inn restaurant and hotel up here in Jasper. It's an old railroad hotel from 1877 and his family has owned it since 1976. My husband, Hans, grew up above the restaurant from the age of 3 and now that his parents are retiring we are taking over.

Oh oh oh...the N. GA Outlets are a wee slice of heaven!

I'm really surprised that I haven't hyperventilated today. Such excitement!

Maybe one of the vets can answer this, why is there no Disneyland Mom's Panel? It would have been really helpful in planning my trip to the land next week.

I remember that question being answered on the WDW Mom's Panel at some point last year & they said it was because there wasn't a need for it since it's not anywhere near as big as WDW. I think it would be an awesome thing to have especially for us West Coasters to get on the panel! We should start a petition!

Thanks! Oh, there's still a need for it even though the park is smaller. I had some questions that really would have been better off answered by a Disneyland specialist before I get down there. I think it would totally rock for the West Coasters to have an opportunity to shine with their Disneyland knowledge. We should start a petition.

I could totally try to answer your questions ~ I have lots of knowledge about DLR too because in the few trips I've had there, I've done so much reading & research on that you'd probably laugh at me! Feel free to send me a pm if you want! I'm actually helping 2 families plan their surprise Christmas trips for their kids & am having the time of my life! So fun!!

Yesterday was such a whirlwind -- I'm wondering now if it was all a dream?!

I was sitting in an elementary school cafeteria having lunch with my son and some other 4th grade boys when I got the call on my cell phone. I really hadn't expected to make the panel after my interview, but apparently my incoherent babbling came across as "lots of passion" lol! One of the first things I asked was if they could tell me who else made the Panel, and of course, they couldn't. I spent the next several hours wondering and hoping that my fellow disboarders made it too -- I knew from reading everyone's posts here, on twitter, and in emails that there were a lot of awesome people who would be a lot of fun to hang out with on the training trip. I am so excited to see that everyone from here made the Panel! And that there are even more awesome new friends joining too!

I've said it before, but need to tell everyone again, thanks so much for the wonderful encouragement you've given us as we've gone through this process. I've been so touched by everyone's kindness, and it was such a comfort yesterday to know that whatever the result of my phone call, I could come here and receive lots of support from people who understand the wild ride we've been on for the past few weeks. So, thank you all!

So I have a question. Been lurking for a few days and I was wondering about the "training trip". Is that just for you or can you bring your family? And I thought maybe there was earlier mention of a vacation for compensation?

Just wondering about those 2 things.

Good Morning, Friends

This is all SO exciting and fun! Thank you again for all of the support.

So far, we've discovered that there are FOUR Dads on this years panel: Joel, Marc, Jonas and Bernie. I've invited Bernie over to this thread to introduce himself...hopefully we'll "see" him here soon.

This Panel will be the largest yet, with 10 full timers and approximately 10 part timers (from what I've seen so far on other media sites). Training is going to be SO MUCH FUN...I simply can't wait to meet everyone! Looks like there's at least one from Canada and possibly one from Puerto Rico. I LOVE all the diversity...such a Small World afterall
