2010 Fall Dining for DVISA Is Out (See FIRST page)'

we've stayed at Pop before and Riverside last year, I just remember the Pop bus lines being looong..............but maybe they all can be that way.
Anyone?????

We have stayed at Pop once, May 2009. The lines were very short I thought. We never waited more then 15 min for a bus at the hotel. I think at Epcot we waited 20 min for a bus, but that is the longest wait we had.

Now I have stayed at Boardwalk twice Nov 03 and May 08. And I hate the busses there. We have waited an hour and half for a bus to DTD and one of the water parks. We keep calling the dispatch place, but it took for ever. From what we could tell Boardwalk was the last hotel on the loop and the loop had 5 hotels on it. In fact one day we ate breakfast at Beach Club, caught the bus there, which was the 4 hotel on the loop. The bus was full, DH and I were standing at the front of the bus and I listen to hear if the driver called anyone to say he wasn't going to Boardwalk and he didn't call. I also watch to see if he could text, key something in to tell dispatch(not know how they communicate) and i saw nothing. So I think busses get to full and if they don't get called in guest are left waiting.

From what I have read on line buses can be good and bad at each hotel. What I think helps Pop to be better IMO is its normally the only hotel on the bus loop.

Im sure this could change and may not be the case every bus ride. But for us it was great last time. We like Pop themeing, its a good value and frankly its a cheer place. Thats why we choose it. I would choose Pop over Boardwalk any day. And Boardwalk is special to me, since that is where we spent out honeymoon. We also had problems with the boats so, for us Boardwalk isn't worth it anymore. Which is sad.

:woohoo::dance3:

Just talked DH into it! :yay:

But to late to call and book tonight now. Our 1st choice is ASMo so I hope that I can get it when I call tomorrow! Won't be able to until late in the day. No one take my room! :)

Slightly OT...what would you suggest for a mod? The CM said POFQ with small kids (mine are 7 & 2). That sound good? I would really rather do a split with Pop & WL but the dh is terrified of moving mid-vacay :sad2: so he would rather try a mod...

:banana: That is great news!:banana:

Now bring on the planning. lol :surfweb:

Yay for free dining. Now the wait until Monday. I'm just wondering if anyone has had success with linking reservations with two families through the online booking. I was hoping to book through online Monday, rather than trying to get through the phone lines. I also see a spot for requests. Will this work or should I call? Or could we both book online then call later to link the reservations and put in our room request? Ok I'm with done, just happy that everyone finally got and will be getting their wish.

For us (2A, 1C) it was a few hundred cheaper to stay at POP and upgrade the dining plan. We are never in the room, except at night, so we don't care too much about the room. And we LOVE POP. POP's busses aren't bad - they don't share with any other resort like ASMu, ASSp and ASMo. But that's what works best for our family. I'm sure there will be other's who feel differently.

This is the route we are going as well. We already had a ressie for that week, so I am calling Monday to change it to FD and paying for an upgrade to the DDP, instead of staying with QSDP. Pop looks too cool (haven't stayed there personally), and have had many friend who recommended it.

I tried calling again to get it adjusted but once again I was told that it had to be two seperate ressies and they would link them...I checked my cc and they have already taken 2 deposits...which I wouldnt mind if it were the same for everyone...but it doesnt seem to be  think I may call tomorrow and speak to a supervisor or something... still happy though:laughing:

Someone may have already posted to this or you may have other info by now, but in 2006 we had 2 rooms with one deposit. That changed (I read here on the Dis and the CM's told me) that sometime before we booked in early 2007 the requirement changed to a deposit on each room. We also had to pay two deposits in 2009. No biggie for me, I knew I'd have to pay it all eventually anyway! :)

anyone having any availability issues other than maybe ASMu suites , WL Standard or POR 5 person rooms? Just getting antsy waiting to get my FD reservation...we want Preferred CBR room...:)

Can anybody confirm what the maximum length of say is with free dining? The first post of this thread states 14 days, but mousemisers.com says "your stay cannot be longer than 10 nights".

I'll be shocked if it's just 10 nights. That said - call Disney and ask. They are the ultimate "final answer" ...

Clarification - for those of you who had previously booked with AAA - you got the FD on TOP of the AAA discount?

Nope. There is no AAA discount on the F/D offers that I'm aware of. Full rack rate. Maybe someone can confirm.

I know this is a free dining thread and all; but would anyone mind if I added a new subject for a quick answer.... I've never had trip insurance. I know we are traveling in hurricane season. Is it really worth getting the insurance? Does it really work if there is a hurricane?

To me.. Disney travel insurance isn't worth it and can be had elsewhere for cheaper. And most times, Disney will give you a courtesy refund if something bad happens... minus the 100$ up to 6 days before check-in and $200 after that.. So I can pay $100 to maybe save $200.. not worth it.

Now if you have flights booked thru Disney as well and they're pricey then it starts to make sense.

I may have missed it, but who can blame me? There's 141 pages here!! :lmao:

What dates are showing up for free dining?

First page of this thread explains EVERYTHING

YAY - I knew you secretly wanted to go.. :goodvibes

*whew* ... I finally get some sleep and this thing grows by 10 pages! Crazy! :scared:

I was very antsy too, b/c we are staying at POR and are a family of 5. We were able to change (2 kids were free play and dining) add free dining to our reservation yesterday morning.

We stayed at a preferred CBR room last year. Very worth it IMO!! Good luck!

Now I just have to cross my fingers that they extend it into mid-December like last year for our Christmas trip... any predictions on that? :rotfl:

I believe the extension started with PINS last year... By June, I'd be checking into Pin Codes.

Is anyone else still waiting for email confirmation? I changed ressie yesterday at 7am..still no confirmation email. I checked the reservation online and it looks like totals did change though. Maybe it takes awhile when the system is so overwhelmed? Just curious if anyone else is still waiting for confirm........

We changed ours at 7:30 am yesterday, and had e-mail confirmation by 9:30 am. But if your total is correct, I wouldn't worry. They send e-mails in batches, and I'm sure they are backed up due to high number of changes yesterday.

Knox-

You had me thinking that I was CRAZY most of the day yesterday! I have been secretly ;) checking here every few days to see if something had come out or what your latest info was. I hadn't popped in for a few days so I came by yesterday morning and saw this thread title, read the first post and looked at the date you posted it--4/14

I spent most of the day thinking that I had missed it somehow and the offer had been out for almost 2 weeks!

It wasn't until later that I had time to look through the end of the thread and realized it really did just get announced yesterday and you had edited the OP and title from the earlier one.

Book with Southwest out of Philly next time-they don't charge for bags,or changing dates or anything!!! If your changed flight is cheaper, they even give you credit!!! I have changed flights several times without issue, and even got a $320 credit when I changed to a cheaper flight(5 tickets)!!! Southwest is the BEST in my opinion!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. I will check out Southwest for next year. I wonder if they will offer FD next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just kidding, I think its way too early to go there :)

Yes they ask for it...if you already did a deposit with your DVisa then you are fine, if not I believe you have to put down another $200

No Deluxe resorts get basic but you can upgrade to DxDDP

I had already put down a $200 deposit and they said I had to put down another when I booked FD to make sure I still had the card!?!?

We still paid 1 deposit last year in September/October. It was 2 adults and 5 kids....but when we added my MIL and it became 3 adults they required 2 deposits and split the rooms in to a Grand Gathering?

Wonder what happens when/if we have more children....we'll be a Grand Gathering all by ourselves LOL
