Dumb question alert:

Any idea how fast the free dining offers get booked? We have reservations for Disney Movies from 9/21 - 9/28. My CM told me that I could call back and they could update the rese IF the offer was *still* available for those dates. Is it likely that if I don't call within the first few hours of the announcement that I won't be able to add the promo??

:headache:

My friend came back yesterday and this is what she was offered as a BB

Ok......I was curious. 40 % at the cabins is a pretty good deal, but when you go to Disney early in the year, the BB are for the same year, correct? But, the later in the year you go the better the chance is that you will get a BB for the following year (I assume). Just inquiring.........Thanks for your help.

Well.. two answers..

1. Historically most resorts that any F/D room inventory to start with.. didn't sell out for a couple of weeks and Pop Century and Wilderness Lodge are historically among the first few with the Contemporary to sell out.

2. History is no indicator for each respective year's room inventory.. so..

In a nutshell.. if there's any inventory at all at your chosen resort - you should be fine to call in the first 24 to 48 hours of the offer. HOWEVER, if your resort doesn't have any inventory to start with - it doesn't matter what time you call, you'll end up switching resorts to get the promo offer - whatever it is.

No waiting for GP offer. I wish I could get a Disney Visa... but I don't think Canadians qualify

No we do not. Darg-nabit.

I'm with you. . . (Did you notice the end day of that promo is the same as the Book-by date. Isn't that a little odd?)

Does anyone think the Disney execs are getting a good laugh as they read the boards and we are all freaking out?? :lmao: I bet so! Not a very Disney thing to do, but funny if you think about it.

ITA with you. I am not waiting on FD because we have already made our yearly trip but I am hoping all of you guys are able to get it. I am anxiously waiting to see if they will extend the military discount through next year. I am hoping because the 40% would be nice but just being able to book dinning plan without purchasing tickets directly from Disney saves us a good bit of money.

So if by 8am tomorrow morning we don't see anything, will it be time to scream?

Maybe. :scared1:

But only if you're looking at the special Disney Visa page.
(does anyone have a link to that by the way?)

There won't be anything typically on the Disney site til Sunday/Monday in all likelihood.

If they are suppose to release the DV Free Dining offer tomorrow, As rumored why haven't we seen anything leaked by now. These boards would be very very busy with questions. Maybe its only going to Monday for all.

I called and talked to a CM today, and they said keep checking the Disney Website in the next week for specials that might fit your family's trip in late Aug.

That darned Disney Visa page generally is quite behind on posting the deals. It'll be here and available for booking much earlier in the day than it'll show up on their site. Even once it is posted I believe you may need to clear your temporary internet files in order for it to show up for a while.

Here's the link. Disney Visa Cardmember Offers

I just plan on looking here anyway. SOMEONE will see it (I hope). Should I start checking around 7am or do the offers go up later in the day?

I think my TA may very well be the only one that exists that has not heard any rumors, or at least she claims. Anyway, don't forget the original rumor did say FD for GP or D Visa on May 3RD, so it could be that nothing will come out tomorrow. If it doesn't, don't panic yet!

I think the rumor count is probably WAY down this year.. because we've had this info up on the DIS now for several weeks..

Which means.. gosh.. what's the point of spreading the rumor... and all the rest of it.

Plus - if I know Mickey at all.. after the initial rumor was posted here.. folks who work at Disney .. who formerly might have tipped a hand in the days before, as word spreads thru the company, have likely been warned that their jobs are on the line if they do..

Just a guess.. but that's typically how it goes in large organizations when something gets leaked. (At least where I work. And don't ask where I work cause that's confidential too.. LOL.)

However, if that is true.. it's humorous to me only because my sources on this weren't from Disney and weren't from the travel industry. Go figure!

:confused3

And add to ALL that.. this thread is LOUSY in the last 24 hours with links to other sites who have posted a rumor different than the one in this thread (slightly) ... and they are all saying the same thing.. so.. There's a few rumors right there..

I think we may be overanalyzing. Just sayin'. ;)

If you are a GG(I am guessing you are for 3 rooms you probably have more than 8people) you will get connecting, adjoining or on the same floor. If not a GG they will try to accomodate you but it is not a guarantee. We went with 6people one year and requested connecting rooms and we got it. This year we are going with8 and they said since we are a GG we will have connecting(requested), adjoining or same floor. CM I talked with said we most likely will have the connecting since that is what I am requesting(so I can send the kids to grammy:lmao:). Worst case we will be on the same floor close to each other.

October 1st starts regular season

just an fyi, even if you are a GG there is absolutely, positively, unequivocably NO GUARANTEE that you will get the connecting, adjoining, nearby, on the same hallway, or in some resorts even the same building... btdt and did not get any of our requests 'cept ground level room for g'ma... dh/i/4 kids could not even get connecting, and the rest of our family were spread among two buildings (5 rooms total) in the same "section" (aruba) of CBR...

Aww you're sweet..

But I don't borrow books, money, DVD's, CD's or credit cards from my friends and I don't lend the same.

It never ends well.

A very sweet thought tho. :cloud9:

We are staying at FW cabins...

If QS is only offered for moderates and we add the difference for TS then I come out with this being the equivalent of 30% off the room rate...

IE:
Rack rate for Cabin + tickets + TS difference + tips I get approx: 4600.
If 30% off rate + tickets + OOP for food I get approx 4596.

Okay - here's a question. If I check on the DVisa page and there is nothing there, and I call Disney @ 7am tomorrow and ask if the DVisa promo came out, would they know/tell me? :confused3 or will they know nothing - as usual? :surfweb:

I'm pretty sure that Travel Agents are informed a few days ahead of time but are told that if they tell anybody that they'll lose their "official Disney TA" status with Disney. They need to know ahead of time so they can get their ducks in a row for which clients would benefit from them calling in to update their reservations for the new deal.

My point is that people who are already in the know will report here fairly early. CMs may not all be well informed. I'd want to know the code before calling so you don't waste your time on the phone. If you have the code already then you can just tell them to humour you and give it a try but if you don't know it and the CM says it's not there then you'll just have to call back later.

Just my $0.02.
