ok so i am new at the dining plan here, we are booked at ft wilderness 8-20 to 8-28 with dining now. my AAA travel agent said she will re-do my reservation to get the free dining. Will that work?? she says they do it all the time. I know she has her eye out for me for the free dining, as i have been torturing her ever since the free dining rumors !!

BTW... wondering...when free dining does finally come out...what will everyone do with their extra time since no one will need to check the board 24/7???

I have 9 nights booked at the Dolphin starting in early June. I know what *I'll* be doing..

I will be in Canada next week. IF, miraculously Disney decides to announce FD to VC holders next week....how do I call Disney?

Is it the same number I call from the US? Could someone from Canada please let me know.

I always call 1-407-W-Disney simply because it's easy to remember. But any of the same numbers (non toll free) you call from the states will work just fine here. Really.. in the North American Phone system, Canada's provinces are treated identically to states in the US. (except for some toll free calls)

Since Disney doesn't offer a toll free number for general public use - that shouldn't be a factor.

Out of curiosity, how long does it take to get a Disney Visa? Trying to figure out if I should take out the card just to be able to book FD sooner

I wouldn't imagine it would come fast enough.. generally a CC takes anywhere between 21 and 42 days to arrive in my experience when I lived in the US. I'm not sure with DV.

Crossing my fingers it includes my travel dates...Oct 7 thru Oct 12th!!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

These dates may not be included in the first announcement. A later extension MAY include them as was done last year... but at this point I have nothing either way on that.

I hope they don't have a length of stay ticket purchase. We are driving and will arrive in the afternoon... so we don't hit the parks that day so as to not waste a days worth of tickets. We just get settled into our resort and then go out to dinner.. seeing as we are going to PH we will probably explore DTD afterwards. We are going to the parks a total of 5 days, but only needed to purchase 4 days... as we each have a GAD ticket. Also due to the fact we are driving.. we will leave in the morning after our last night... use our last CS credit for breakfast, before we depart.

Altogether, we stay a total of 6 nights, visit the parks a total of 5 days and only need to purchase 4 days of tickets. So a length of stay (or even 5 days of tickets) won't work with our plans.

Also, it seems to make APs worthless... not a good idea!

WOW. A wealth of info out there! We are going 10/13-18. I was hoping F/D might be extended into October further but it looks...unlikely. Out of curiosity, which is a better deal?

5 nights at POP with Free dining?

5 nights at POP with a room discount code?

I suck at math. I imagine the value room discount would be 30% right (or was it 25%?). We are currently booked through AAA (paying for the dining plan), and the only applied discount is the AAA discount which is I believe 20% off rack.


ETA: I would be absolutely okay with upgrading to a mod if the discount made it worth our while somehow (like if Free Dining with the regular plan was offered at mods or deluxes but only QSD at the values). I reall yloved POFQ, but have been itching to try POR. Interestingly, it will ALWAYS be Dixie Landings to me, and that is the name of my farm! Dixieland Farm.

I am trying not to get really excited about this, just in case it doesn't pan out, like other rumors about this year's free dining. But I am not succeeding in my efforts. This one sounds more concrete than other rumors. I am hoping!!!!!

Yes, provided inventory on this exact promo is available at that resort for the dates you have booked. If not, the CM on the phone will tell you what choices you have (other resorts, other dates) to bring things into alignment.

We are looking at 8/15-8/21 at POFQ and I've been holding off booking waiting for whatever the fall promo is. Should I go ahead and reserve a room and hope to add FD? If there's limited inventory it seems there's no advantage and I should just wait until 7 AM EDT on May 3rd.

I called the other day to see if there was a pin under my name for fall. I have been getting lots of pins for August but I'm going Sept 28-Oct 8. The CM said he only sees the free QS dining under my Visa Card account for August. I said well, that won't be used. I never go in the Summer. Then I said Well I guess I'll have to wait for free dining to hit. He said I would check back at the end of the month if I were you.

We started chatting about the MNSSHP and how great it was. As I was hanging up he said don't forget to check back at the end of the month. I thanked him, wished him a great day and hung up.
Now I'm hoping everyon is correct free dining at the end of the month woohoo waiting waiting waiting

That's pretty much it. Booking now will be of no real benefit. The room inventory for the promo is going to be locked in the next week or two.. and every room booked for those dates between now and then will have an impact on the F/D room inventory ..

You should be just fine to go ahead and make ADR's now however.

That's what I was thinking! Even with a family of 4, that's $12 for free dining for 6 nights! Completely worth it I would think!

I just wanted to say the pin I got for the fall for free dining did require a 5 night min stay and 5 days worth of tickets.

I cant see how they will make the general public offer more leniant than the pin codes? but I could be wrong!

Are you sure it requires the purchase or is it just priced out that way? I'm only asking since the PIN we got last spring for a free $500 priced the offer with 5 day tickets, however, a one day ticket was only required to get the offer. Thanks!
