IMO I wouldn't wait to make dining reservations as a lot of the most wanted are already gone!

exactly....remember they had FD through Nov 14th. for Europe for several months already.

I have a couple of questions re this that you all can probably answer and save me the phone call to disney ( where they certianly wouldnt confirm a promotion at this time anyway). I, too have been not so patiently waiting for FD. I got it last year and could kick myself for not booking a bounce back! Anyway- I have POP booked with the reg DP for Sept 28-Oct 3. My questions:
Is it worth it to updrade from the QSDP to the reg DP , or does it make more sense to updrade the resort to a moderate and get the free reg DP? Does it come out to the same money wise? or are you still saving more with the Value Resort?
my other question is, according to the "rumors", the promotion ends Oct 2. We are checking out Oct 3...do we GET the FD for the night of Oct 2?

When we were there last fall, there were several people staying at the CBR that had a 4/3 deal, however we were on the regular room rate with free DS. I think I honestly would save more with the 4/3 deal than the dining as we found some of the meals were more than we would normally eat and there were times that being "locked" into meal reservation wasn't convenient.

Wonder if they will be offering the 4/3 deal as well this year?? Anyone heard anything???

Out of curiosity, how long does it take to get a Disney Visa? Trying to figure out if I should take out the card just to be able to book FD sooner

I applied and had the card in hand in 13 days- applied one friday and 2 thursdays later, the card came in the mail!

I received a Postcard the other day with a PIN offer and it was Free QSDP for Values and Moderates. Free Regular Dining for Deluxe and CRO-DVC (SSR and OKW) reservations.

I thought it was telling that the Free QSDP has moved up to the Mods and now the paid upgrade is required to the Regular Plan if staying in the mods.

I will check the card when I get home if anyone is interested in dates, etc. but I know it was thru the summer.

I heard part of the holdup was deciding between offering the 4/3 deal vs. the free dining deal for the fall.

How true that is or was? We'll never know.

Certainly.. depending on the size and make up of your travel party.. either deal could work out to be 'better' for one group vs. another.

Both offer pretty nice discounts.

The 4/3 deal.. is a 42.8 % discount on each aspect they allow you to book 4 and get 3 free..

We are hopeful that FD comes out. this is our first time staying on property and free dining would be the icing on the cake. We've stayed offsite the last 4 times, but since its our 5th anniversary heading to WDW, we decided to stay on site. Either way we are booked both airfare and hotel, just FD would sweeten the deal massively.

You should be just fine to go ahead and make ADR's now however.

Already did that. I've been a lurker on here for several weeks and followed the community advice of making my ADRs without waiting to book the room. The only place we wanted but couldn't get was 'Ohana, which we were looking forward to but it's not a trip-breaker if we miss it. A co-worker who's a Disney regular said we could probably get into 'Ohana as a walk-up if we really wanted it.

Very excited to go, it will be my and my DW's first visit in many many years, and the first time ever for our DD5 and DS1. Hoping we can get into POFQ with the free dining (our DD5 picked the hotel, the dragon sliding board in the pool was the deciding factor), but if we end up at POR or another Mod that's fine too.

We are booked at POP with FD already. WE booked bounce back. But we would rather have the QSDP. There is only 2 TS meals we really want to do. But we did book are ADR"S just in case.
But we are also thinking of upgrading to a moderate. I guess will see what the deal is in the end. Maybe they will come out with a room only discount also. Then we can stay mod and just pay for the QSDP. Thanks for the updates.

I think the QSDP will work better for our family. IT is very tough with ADR's I feel like I'm alwasy looking at my watch.

People, I can't emphasize this enough--BOUNCEBACK! If you take advantage of this offer and there's an offer flyer to do it again next year, jump on it! If you don't find a flyer in your room, go to concierge and ask for it, or call the WDTC on your resort room phone.

It'll save you from the same stress next year. (Unless, like me, your friends decide they want to come months after you booked your BB.)

okay just read all replies I have to say I thought I wouldn't be too dissapointed if it was only free QSP for values, but I feel a lil' sad now, I had already booked all my adrs and did a lot of research for them *sigh* I can't afford to upgrade if we want to do the waterparks this year. I guess I may be able to look foward to next year or after since we will no longer be able to do value with our 5.
Someone mentioned they had a pin last year to upgrade from QSP to DP. Wouldn't you not be able to use a pin when booking the fQSP promo?

Some we did reserve for 8, but my question is this - if they don't show up for one of those reservations will our family still be able to use the reservation - or will we be charged some sort of fee for only having half of our party?

When people started speculating about a 4/3 deal... I did the math, the best discount for us would be a 4/3 deal that included dining. The next best deal would be reg fd (at value). QSFD with an upgrade was still a decent discount. A 4/3 deal that did not include dining was only an ok deal (a savings of less than $200 for us.. and having to book an extra night). However, upgrading to a mod to get fd was one of the worst deals for us.

Interesting, I wish the "powers that be" would have decided on the 4/3. However, I fully understand they made the decision based on what generates more to the bottom line.

Truthfully I dunno.. You should ask this on the Dining / Restaurants board.. they are definitely the experts and can get you correct info.

Ok this is what Happened to us last year. We went in Ocotober it was the QSDP at the values. We opted to do the RDP because we got a pin in the mail. So free upgrade. But in all honesty I would do the QSDP in a minute. To many adr's for us. We usually do the character meals for the kids more than anything. But the only 2 we really want to do this year is NOrway princess breakfest and Garden Grill. MAybe crystal Palace also. But we are going for 9 nights and 9 ADR's is to many for us.

I'm hoping the values are the QSDP than I can change my bounce back offer to the new one. But I'm so glad that I did the bounce back because it is better than no free dining. I'm probably in the minority in wanting the QSDP.

So you originally booked the free QSD w/ Values in October and then got a pin to upgrade? Or you were paying for the QSd?
