Me too...we aren't there until Oct 7th....crossing my fingers!

We don't arrive until the 10th. The pin code I have for hotel discount does not include the 10th, it starts with the 11th. So, I'm betting that any other promotion won't include that date either. But, I'll take whatever I can get!! lol

I have noticed reading the thread (and it took a while) that people are quickly adding $10.00 to the difference between QSDP to upgrade to the DDP. If you are really budgeting/keeping track, please don't forget that with the table service when using the DDP, there is still an indication of what is recommended for a tip on the recipet, which is approx 18% - so remember to factor that in when working out what is "cheapest" or "best value"....last year for three of us, it worked out to approximately $20.00 per table service meal - just thought I'd add the reminder....:charac2:

Yes great point! and if I recall correctly isn't it $15 dollars a day to upgrade not 10?

Somebody help!

DH, DD8, DD6, DCouisn34 and I are arriving at ASMuFS on 8/14 leaving 8/19. We have the $300 GC promo booked, and DxDP.

So IF FD is offered 8/15, I have to have a split stay of 1 night, then 4 nights? Can I stay in the same room? Do I have to get new KTTW cards? Pay 2 deposits? Upgrade to Dx Plan? Is it going to be worth losing the $300 gift card (I'm sure it will be). :headache::headache::headache:

Wait, I thought 18% tip for a party of six or more. I'm a good tipper, but I'd rather reward good service instead of doing the recommended tip at each meal.

Yes, it auto-adds 18% for 6 or more.

And to answer another PP's question: the dining plan upgrade is $10 during value season. I think it's $15 only in high season and holidays.

:)

Here is a question... my parents have a Disney Visa, and my dad is unsure yet whether he will be going with me this trip, it depends on his work shcedule etc. Can they book it on their Visa, with my name on it? I want to be able to book as early as possible, but I don't want to "cheat" :scared1: so if that's unethical I will just wait till the rumored May 3rd, but I guess I don't see why not, as long as they pay for the package with their Visa... :confused3

I did a rough estimate of our tips with all ears menus and guessing what we would eat. My estimate is between $16-$35 per meal, so you are right that really adds up. We have stowed away $225 for tips based on my estimates for a 9 night stay with 4 people.

I am not good at the math and figuring which is the better value, but I can answer these two. You would have to do a split stay and you would not be guaranteed the same room, although they do try to keep you in one room they will not guarantee it.

Thank you for that! I remembered seeing on another thread it was $15! Thanks for the clarrification

I was able to book for my in-laws 2 years ago on my Disney VISA when FD was offered to Disney VISA cardholders prior to the general public.

When I did the math for our family 2 adults 1 11yr old and 1 8yr old it was $32 per day to upgrade.

There are different prices for DP depends on the season you are traveling in....$10 per adult during value season $2 per child (per night). Regular season is $15 per adult and $3 per child. HTH!

When I did the math for our family 2 adults 1 11yr old and 1 8yr old it was $32 per day to upgrade.

So then it is only value season where the upgrade is $10. (If I remember right Melanie, your trip is scheduled during regular season.)

Throwing back in the pot here... I talked to a CM yesterday and she said MNSSHP tickets will be out April 29. Anyone think that particular date (if the May 3 Free Dining date does stick) will help them decide how many rooms to set aside for FD based on initial ticket sales for MNSSHP?

Yes we are regular season. But I want to clarify...it is $32 per day to upgrade for ALL 4 of us. Not $32 each.

This was the set of dates that came with our pin:

For stays most nights:
4/11/10–7/1/10
7/5/10–10/7/10
10/11/10–11/23/10
11/28/10–12/16/10

Thanks so Im going in Value Season..I was trying to figure out if upgrading to DDP or upgrading resorts was cheaper and seeing that , I've got my answer thank you! :) After reading the thread I forgot about budgetting tips...DF was like holy crap a 20 dollar tip for a meal...and I was like welcome to the real world (I usually pay for our meals so he has never noticed tip prices lol)
