2010 Dining Plan Discussion Thread

In talking to dining this morning they told me to just make the reservations for the places you want and then when they are added to dining it's not a problem. If for some reason they do not get added to the dining plan we can either pay out of pocket or cancel the adr. Made sense to me.

Only problem is, you pay in advance for the Dining Plan (per day) to avoid paying out of pocket. So you now would have two Table Service meals to use in 1 day (if that happened) That's more than most can eat. Also, might be pretty hard getting a reservation at another participating restaurant (that you like) at that late of a notice.

good thing I found this thread! I am making my "180 days out" reservations tomorrow and I have a feeling, after reading this thread, that when I go to make a ADR at Moracco its going to say its not on the dining plan. Should I just go ahead and make all my reservations even if the establishments do not show as being on the DDP? We are traveling in March and I am not thrilled about making ADR so far out, especially seeing we are going to be trying to meet up with family while in Orlando. We are staying at CBR with a Dining plan for 2adult2kids. Its all alot, too soon. :) this is our first and probably last trip for a LONG time...:confused3

You will find that your 'ressies' can only be made 90 days out now. 180 days out was changed last year.

Actually, this just changed back to 180, as of TODAY!

I was also noticing the lack of options, even in CS. I am considering taking my little sister and brother for a 1 day trip in late January (likely AK) with QSDP and there are so few options listed. Atleast with QS I don't have to worry about ADRs.

Thank you MissBritt, Yes indeed, effective today, back to 180 days out for arrivals after Jan 25th, 2010.

Oh well. I looked at my calendar wrong, and it was today, not tomorrow. I think I just ****d myself. :( Thanks everyone for all the advice though!

SMWfamily... Maybe not, depends on what you are trying to reserve. I called today and got everything I needed (some very popular restaurants) for a February trip. I was waiting around for November until MissBritt informed me 180 days out was back. She's a JEWEL! :):thumbsup2

Don't worry you probably did yourself a favor by not joining in that mess today. It was quite an interesting day ARGH!!!

Hee hee. I spazzed for nothing. :scared1: I called last night after the kids went to bed and stayed on hold with ADR with over an hour. Then I got everything I wanted at the times I wanted. Such a relief. If anyone is curious, this is what we are doing:

crystal palace dinner
Askerhaus(sp) breakfast
Moracco dinner
spirit of aloha Luau
Holywood and Vine breakfast
Sci fi dinner
Mickey and friends @contemporary
Cat Cora's Kouzzina:banana:

I have a dining plan for 8 days but thats 9 table service. Oh well. Thinking of just paying cash at Sci fi.

I am a HUGE Cat Cora fan so thats a big deal for me. :goodvibes

I'd consider paying OOP for H&V for the adults -- it's probably cheaper than a meal at Sci-Fi, though it might be close.

I am so happy to jump in on this thread. Last year at this time, I was planning a January trip and lots of meals planned at DTD and Epcot. I WAS FLIPPING OUT! The list was complete, finally, at the end of December. Don't worry, it will all come together.

My DH and I are taking my little bro and his gf to WDW (1st time for little bro:) ) early Jan 2010... we have the QS plan.... Really hoping all of the places from 2009 are back on the list by then!!! I'm freaking out just a tad :scared1:

:upsidedowPaying out of pocket for H and V... Hmmm that is a good idea, seeing the kids arent coming with us to Kouzinna, my aunt will have them in greater Orlando somewhere... I will have their table services to use for them at H&V, then we can just pay for ourselves...

Yep same here. We had booked for May 2009 and everthing was fine by January:thumbsup2

Well I got a response from Guest Services that helped relieve my fears regarding this a little bit:

"Please be aware that Operating Participant dining locations at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Downtown Disney Area and Epcot are currently not yet available as a part of the 2010 Disney Dining Plan.

Please check back closer to your arrival for updated information."

Granted, Boardwalk was not mentioned ( for BRG ) but I'm hoping they meant 'Epcot AREA'

I have been planning our 2010 trip and note according to the www.wdwinfo.com site that a number of restaurants are not participating next year in DDP.

Restaurants such as

Teppan Edo
Chefs De France
Nine Dragons
Tokyo Dining
Tutto Italia
Raglan Road
Planet Hollywood
Wolfgang Puck

None of these restaurants appear as participating restaurants - http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-dining-plan.htm#restaurants2010

Is this true or an oversight by wdwinfo???

Probably neither. It seems to take a while before everyone settles the deal with Disney and renews. Expect everyone on your list to be there when the dust settles.

I could be wrong, maybe Robo could chime in?

This past year the final list came out late. Right before new year's day. I would think they will all be on they have been.

I would check again in the middle of December for the final list maybe even later like it was this year.

I find it hard to believe that that many in Epcot will not participate. There's still time.

Neither, this subject comes up every year about this time. NonDisney owned restaurants usually don't sign their contracts until sometime in December. Expect them all to sign though. Disney needs them to make the DDP successful and they need the DDP in order to stay open, as people on the DDP would not patronize them if they did not accept the DDP.

We're planning a May/June 2010 trip and we were going over the DDP. We went last June on the DDP and loved it. However, the 2010 PDF is missing some very important restaurants! (our favorite restaurants are Teppan Edo, Chefs de France, and the Mexican restaurant in Epcot). None of these are included in the plan right now although they were last year. I've asked two different cast members at disney...one said she assumes that they will eventually go back on the plan (the plan's not finalized she said), the other said it probably is final. I was wondering, does anyone have idea about this? Do you think the DDP will be updated further before 2010 comes? Thanks!!

I've been told that the independent restaurants that are normally on the Plan will be added in January. I guess they wait till then to decided.
