Maria,
We were at WDW last week before we headed to Vero! We were at the Beach Club Villas from Thurs 3/19-Sunday 3/22! We had a great time there and finishing up at the beach is great. Yesterday the weather was high 70's here and the winds had died down some. Today is supposed to be high 70's too with even less wind. We are heading out to the beach soon. I am in the lobby now checking email and things. DH is in our studio still sleeping. For those wondering wireless is being set up in the villas and it is being tested. I have been able to connect sporadically in the studio. They are still working out the kinks.
Off to the beach and home late tomorrow. We have a few hours at the beach before we leave tomorrow that will have to tide me over until the next trip.

Great update Deb ! Thanks for checking in ! Glad those winds are dying down. On 3/19 I was in Tallahassee touring FSU with dd. We had dinner at Cape May Cafe at BC on Sat 3/21. So we were SO CLOSE !!!!! If I had known, we could have met up for a quick "hello". We were at the BC on Sat between 8 and 10 pm.

Would have been cool to meet up with ya Deb......hope you continue to have a nice relaxing time at VB !!! We'll be there in about 40 days ....but who's counting ?

Nice pics, Maria, you make a very good-looking family! Where did you (or your daughter) buy the Mickey bag on the table? I bought the little fold-up bag with the same pattern but never saw this one. Love it!

Hi....thanks Jump4Joy. I got it at the Emporium in 2007 I believe. Love it. Nice and big for me to stuff all kinds of stuff into.

1 more week to Vero Beach! WOO HOO!!

We're gonna do 2 days at Universal Orlando before heading down to VB. Any tips on how to make the most of those 2 days will also be appreciated. Chairs and sand, here I come

We used them 2 days , they were comfortable and umbrella was great.

milesjacki ...glad the chairs were nice. I haven't seen them in person yet ! Getting close. Booked airfare and should be arriving at VB on May 5 around 5 pm.

samamit...you're really closing in on VB We're not big Universal people because my girls don't enjoy big coasters/big thrill rides. They feel Big Thunder, Space Mtn and Test Track are about as thrilling as they're willing to take on.


I do know, from past trips, that the Uni parks are very nice/clean. I would highly suggest visiting the Universal boards for more detailed help in planning your two days. Are you staying on Uni property ?

As you have noted in the link, swaps that require a participant to pay into them will no longer be allowed on the DIS as of Friday, April 24th. This thread will be closed at that time. If you wish to continue this as a free swap on the DIS you may do so, that is assuming the item(s) will either be donated, or the cost has already been reimbursed by the current participants, using the current items until they are worn out.

For your own references, I suggest you bookmark this thead before it is closed and difficult to locate.

Thanks Chuck. Our swap is complete and paid for this year. So we really have no further need for it to be open. I just ask anyone already involved in this year's swap, to post on the VB Adoration thread if there are any issues (such as broken chairs/umbrellas/trouble with CM's in regard to the swap). I'm assuming this will be ok Chuck ? Because considering everyone has paid money, I feel they need an outlet to voice problems and I am the VB CM contact person. So please let me know Chuck if it's ok to post questions/comments/issues about the already paid for chair swap on the VB Adoration thread ??

Maria: Thanks again for organizing the chair swap. As initial users of one of the sets of chairs, I am very grateful that we were able to participate in the chair swap. The chairs and umbrella are great, and it definitely enhanced our VB stay. I will miss this, next time our travels take us to Vero.

I'm glad everyone worked together to make it happen. I just want to say, that if Chuck comes back and says we can't discuss the swap anymore, I will fax my phone number and email address to Vero Beach. So if you have any problems, feel free to contact me by that means. And I know many of you already have my email.

I haven't heard back yet. I am assuming you won't be allowed to use a thread on the DIS for communicating about the swap. We do try to be fair and maintain the same type of policy throughout the many DIS boards.

You could contact those participating in the swap for the remainder of 2009 via email or PM and give them the necessary contact info if a problem arises. VB being away from the hussle and bustle of WDW probably had less problems with these swaps than something that was going resort to resort and park to park.

Ok....I just assumed because there was no more money involved, it would be ok just to communicate problems or issues. But if not, everyone feel free to PM me or email. I will supply VB with my contact info as well. So, most likely if an issue arises where u need to contact me, it will be directly at the resort. So just check with Bells service. I will leave it with the list. In fact, now that I think of it, it's already there. I'm quite certain I put my contact info on the list I faxed over.
So after Friday....you all know how to get a hold of me......thanks to all who participated and made it a success this year
