call disney you can do it over the phone.

You have to call and do it over the phone but if you want to change to a package when you can book online they have to refund your money and you are recharged on your cc. You cant book a package until early summer.

I booked our April 2008 room only reservation exactly 365 days in advance. I did it over the phone. The price I was quoted and the deposit I gave was based on 2007 rates. I received a confirmation in the mail for those rates and it may have said on there that the rates would be adjusted later. We are using a AAA discount so when the AAA 2008 rates came out I called back and they adjusted everything for me under the same reservation number and with the same credit card information. They then sent my current confirmation form by mail.

I did similar thing as "wdw71", except we don't have AAA discount. We booked a little further out, but I wanted to make sure we had the resort of our choice. (i had thoughts of WDW being all booked up . DH thought I was nuts). I believe it was Feb 07 for Apr/May 08. They just adjusted the price when the new rates came out in Aug 07. At that point I had to call back to upgrade to the package. Like PPs have said, you will be refunded original deposit for "rm only ressi" and then have to pay a new one for the new reservation based on the new prices.

A few weeks ago I booked a room only through Disney for Jan '09. Be PREPARED to pay a huge increase in the one nights deposit. In the past they would charge the last years rate and tell you that if prices increase you would have to pay the increase. This year I was charged the one night deposit based on a "mid-week, peak season" room even though it is value season. The rate had gone from $325 (this years rate) to $495+tax. I about had a heart attack . So, I am waiting for the rates to come out for next year for an actual rate...still don't know how much the room is yet, but I do have that one night down
