2009 Parks Promotion UPDATE TOURS & PLACES ADDED pg. 1&6

Lol, it's funny, everyone on the Theme Parks board for WDW don't like this new promo.. But us for DLR love it! Yay!

It's all about attitude ;)

We're happy at my house. My daughter has an annual pass, and the thought of a free gift card makes her happy. Going to DL with her friends on THEIR birthdays makes her even happier, since some of them have never been to Disneyland.

that's interesting, how the WDW people feel vs the DLR people.

Then again, you get so relatively little for b'days at DLR compared to WDW, so the WDW dislike the whole celebrating on a different day thing so much more than we do, so I think maybe it's just an "issue" for them and they can't see how nice it is.

how do u know where the on the road locations are.... i know they are coming here but ts not lised where they will be like the event.. ??

I don't understand the "what will you celebrate?" tour? What exactly will the be doing in those cities?

I am curious too. I will be in Houston when the celebration will there in October and would like to know if it is worth going to.

We just got back from a trip to WDW last week. I just used those boards for reading information with the vary rare posting of a question. You will find that the questions that you have are usually asked quite frequently, so you do not need to worry about asking them yourself. If you do have any questions, I can give you some help, though I have a limited knowledge of WDW. Just send me a PM and I will get back to you when I log into the DIS. :)

I did most of my planning use Tour Guide Mike. I found those boards to be much friendlier and willing to offer advice. You really can't beat the price ($20) for the amount of information you are given.

Exactly, MJ. I feel just like your daughter! I already emailed my Mom and told her we're going on her's and Dad's birthday. Good think they're both on the weekends. Same with everyone in DBF's family! Yay!

What do you get a WDW when it's your birthday? Hmmm..

I was wondering about that too.., I have been to DL/WDW on birthdays and anniversaries and they are celebrated just about the same...bumbershoot, what is the difference?...I will be going back to WDW in 2009 and I love the new promotion...jc

Jade on the WDW resort boards you can find many FAQ for the different resorts and they are very helpful...give them a try...jc

me to i though it was the same lol
but hay ty ill rember that. ive heard tour guied mike might need to look it up

i liked the resort boards i went there a few days ago seemed nice over there and dinning board lol

I have read repeated posts about getting b'day cupcakes and special things from people on the Theme Parks board. Whereas at DLR it's usually just Happy Birthday. Though DS did get a free ice cream at Blue Bayou on his b'day, but I did have to ask about it when they put a charge on the bill even though the slip of paper with our PS info was still on our table when we were seated clearly stated "free birthday dessert), so they might do things differently for little kids...

Oh, I say to give them a chance. There is a ton of information about the resorts up in the info links at the top of the boards, and there are even more NICE people than the grumpy ones. :)

Plus, the mods on those boards are great, too. You might pm them & ask questions & they'll steer you in the right direction.

thanks mary jo
and i know my son got a cup cake last year. i have no problem with ppl celbrating there bdays late or early but hay aperintly some do like on that other form about these perks.

I like the card idea im gona be going wdw for my bday i hope it will be the same there i havent seen if it says just dl or both wdw and dl

Well, I would imagine that for a lot of people that go to WDW, it is a lot farther, than for a lot of people that go to DLR, so the bday thing may be more difficult for them. For Disney, they are obviously trying to draw in more people to the parks by getting them to plan trips around their bdays.

Other than that, I don't see many other special things for the new theme. When you click on all the icons they have on the site, they mostly talk about celebrating by riding rides, etc..., so, in other words, by going to a Disney Park! Oh, the Frontierland dining thing sounds like it might be cool. On that same page, they also have TSMM as a celebration item. :rolleyes1 Maybe they will add more stuff later, as 2009 approaches?

I do like the AP fun card option, though. I just hope I can work it to get there on at least one of our family bdays! I don't prefer to take the kids out of school these days. :sad1:

Okay, we have AP's, and are my eyes playing tricks on me?? If I go on my Bday next year they will give me a gift card for the value of a park admission to spend on more shiny stuff and stuff covered in chocolate?? Am I dreaming? Is this a hallucination? WOW! :wizard: I will have a big slice of Disney Magic to go with my ear to ear grin , thank you!

Can someone please post the list of cities where the tour will be going? I can't access the info. from the Disney website and I'm wondering if the tour will be coming anywhere in WA state, like the Seattle area. Thanks! :)
