2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

Just thought I would say hi! We are taking DD for her first trip to WDW in September 2009. I can't wait! I have been there many times but I know it will be different having her there!

Hi, everyone! It has been awhile since I posted here. We decided to cancel on 2009 and wait until early 2010. It is only a few months difference...but it was still hard. With the prices of gas and groceries going up, we have dipped into our Disney savings to cushion to cost. We drive a Durango and that thing chugs gas like crazy.

I am so excited that we still get to go, though.

I hope you all are having fun planning your trips!! 2009 is less than 6 months away!!

I'm sorry you had to postpone your trip , but like you said, at least you are going.

The price of everything scares me for next year, but I'm still going to book and wait it out. If things dont improve we can either change or cancel the reservation.

Hang in there, time is flying by and in a blink of an eye it'll be next year and then you will be down to 7 months

You'll love WDW all the more seeing it through your DD's eyes. My favorite trip so far was the very first time we brought our twins - they were 2 1/2 years old, and it was SO MAGICAL for all of us! I'll never forget their mouths dropping open when they saw Mickey in the Spectromagic parade that year! We loved it so much, we've decided to go at least once a year as a family...2009 will be our 5th trip with them!

It's my happy place too! I wish we are going this summer, but alas, we are not and are going to Mexico instead. I could go to Disney more than once a year. 2010 we come quickly for you. We are planning June 2009.

WooHoo I made our resies last night for POP in April. I can't wait. Last time DD marched at MK, DH couldn't make it, but he is going this time which makes it even more exciting!!

DD9 just got back yesterday from Disney World with her dad she reminded me that I promised to take her back to the world when she was 10. She doesn't know that I am already planning a trip for next July. She had a wonderful time with her dad and step mom at the world. I cant wait to take her back for a mommy/daughter trip.

I know the feeling. We are trying to go in Oct '09 and my DH is already starting with making a shorter trip. He is thinking 4 nights and the kids and I are hoping for 6 or 7. We are working on it!

We're planning a trip for the last week of July '09. My son will be 17 and my daughter will be 14. Our last trip was in July '05.

We're hoping to stay a few nights at WDW, and then three nights at on site at Universal.

To help with the cost, we're planning NOT to take a vacation this year. But at least we will have 13 months to look forward to WDW/Universal.

We'll likely stay at the Swan or Dolphin next year. We really enjoyed staying at the Dolphin in 2001. The ride to Epcot and Disney Studios via the boats was a great way to and from those parks.

I'm looking forward to counting down the days to the 2009 trip with everyone. Hopefully gas prices will stabilize. If not, Disney and Universal will have to offer some great deals to keep people coming from far away. It's a long drive from Central Texas to Central Florida!

Hello!

We are trying for the end of January/ beginning of February 2009!! Nothing's set in stone yet, but that's the tentative plan. We are not going to tell the kids until Christmas morning! If I can keep it in that long!!

Anyone been this time of year??? We've been in October 2005, May 2007, and May 2008. The weather was great on the second trip. The first and third were extremely HOT. Like 94-95ish and humid. We are hoping for cooler weather in the winter!

OMG I don't know if I can keep it to myself that long!! Of course our trip isn't even booked yet, but it is pretty much in my head! Usually I book 8-9 months in advance, but I am waiting this time until a little closer. We may be there around the same time as you! We are looking at Jan 28 - Feb 3. . . Not sure yet though. We would like to try to fly mid-week since flights seem to be cheaper then. This year, (last month) we went Sat to Sat and those were the highest rates of the week. So I am thinking maybe Wed to Tues or something like that. . .

My plan is to wrap up a HUGE box and put it under the Christmas tree and inside have a note saying something like - WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY IN xx DAYS!!!! It would only be like 30-some days from then! They will be so surprised!

Unfortunately we will not be going back to CSR. We didn't have the best experience there. We were really hoping to like it, but the CM's made that impossible. We didn't totally hate the place. And it does have some good aspects.

Likes - It is a very beautiful resort, especially at night. It's fun to lay in the hammocks by the lake at night. The pool is awesome! The pool slide it very fun. The food at Pepper Market is good. Rix Cafe is good and good service.

Dislikes - The rudest CM's in all of WDW! Housekeeping is not very good. Our room was never cleaned very well. There were things under the beds that are probably still there today. The service at Pepper Market is horrible to say the least, from just plain rude and uncaring to not getting waited on at all at some stations. Had an issue with another CM at the front desk when all I wanted was my boarding passes printed. I had to call in a manager on that one!

Like I said, it wasn't all bad. But the pros did not out-way the cons and we won't return. I've never stayed at POP so I can't say if CSR is better or not, but I kind of doubt it. Especially since CSR costs more.

We are going back May 2009. It will be me, my dd10, ds5, my sister, and her daughter who will be two. Both our DHs will be home working.

It will be a first time trip for my sister and neice. I am SO excited to be with them for their first time!
