2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

WOO HOO!!! I booked our airfare today!!!
AirTrans $1144.00 for the three of us
and $763 for my parents. May not be the best fare, but I'm happy knowing our flights are secured! And who knows, if I waited longer the fares might go up!!

I think the only way it is going is up so best to get it early. Our dates won't open up until late October for booking so I am scared to death to see what they will be by then if oil keeps going up. I will be booking as soon as the price is within my range and I have increased our budget expecting them to be double of what we paid last trip.

Dislikes - The rudest CM's in all of WDW! Housekeeping is not very good. Our room was never cleaned very well. There were things under the beds that are probably still there today. The service at Pepper Market is horrible to say the least, from just plain rude and uncaring to not getting waited on at all at some stations. Had an issue with another CM at the front desk when all I wanted was my boarding passes printed. I had to call in a manager on that one!

We experienced the same with our stay at CSR and have no intentions to return anytime soon.

As for making time fly, please let me borrow THAT watch. ;)

Unfortunately we will not be going back to CSR. We didn't have the best experience there. We were really hoping to like it, but the CM's made that impossible. We didn't totally hate the place. And it does have some good aspects.

Likes - It is a very beautiful resort, especially at night. It's fun to lay in the hammocks by the lake at night. The pool is awesome! The pool slide it very fun. The food at Pepper Market is good. Rix Cafe is good and good service.

Like I said, it wasn't all bad. But the pros did not out-way the cons and we won't return. I've never stayed at POP so I can't say if CSR is better or not, but I kind of doubt it. Especially since CSR costs more.

Good luck with whatever you decide! :wizard:

:scared1: egads!!!!!!!! I know that no resort is perfect, but I'm hearing from more than a few people that the cons outweigh the pros at CSR. I'll have to do more reading tonight when the kids go to bed. Thanks for your honest opinions :) !

I booked my airfare for January last week. A fare of $211 round-trip/person popped up and I just HAD to take it. I found out later that if I had wanted to shorten my trip by two days I could have gotten $159, but I'm satisfied with my fare, and now I am definitely going. I have no idea why that fare popped up on Delta from Kansas City, but I am very very pleased.
I can't imagine that I'll find a better deal.

I actually haven't seen very much activity from the club lately (though I haven't been getting on here much, so you never know), but you just copy and paste that phrase into your signature and people will know that you have accepted and embraced your indecisiveness.

:rotfl: all set!!!!!!!

Do the Swan and Dolphin have the Disney feel or are they more like off property hotels? Thanks

Has anyone heard that the Superbowl affects the Disney crowds???

I never gave it a thought until someone recently told me that it will bring in large crowds since it is in Tampa this year I guess . . . . . (we aren't football people so I don't really know. . . ) Our tentative dates were Jan 28 - Feb 3, and I guess that's Superbowl weekend.

Just found this thread, and boy am I late in joining in. I had every intention of reading all the posts, but I just don't think I can read every single one.
So anyway...
Our last trip to WDW was September of last year, and I miss it so much. We had every intention of going back this year, but just can't afford it. So, we are taking a trip to the beach in a couple of weeks. Next year though, we are cruising DCL in September for our 10th anniversary, and then have every hope to go to Disney either before or after the cruise. Right now, our plans are to go after the cruise, since the week before will be Labor Day. Plus, I think ending the cruise with Disney World would just be icing on the cake. Soooo, I am trying to save what I can for Disney World so that when the packages do come out later this summer I can go ahead and book then. I have always booked online and will probably do it that way again. As of right now, our plans are to stay in a regular room at the WL, and hope to be able to swing the deluxe dining plan!

Some people say it will affect the crowds, others don't think it will. We won't really know until it gets closer.

I made our reservation at the Poly for April 2009. I reserved a garden view club room and am glad to have the reservation in place. They charged me the peak rate for the reservation, but since it will be Spring break in the northeast I feel better safe than sorry.
Only 298 days :goodvibes

Mark me down as another one going in 2009! Geesh, it feels like an eternity to wait. :lmao: We're doing a Land/Sea vacation in June 2009.

Just got back from Kings Island in Cincinnatti Ohio and boy does it make me miss Disney World!!! Maybe I am a little biased, but what a joke. They just "redid" a ride to change it from the movie title Tomb Raider to The Crypt. I actually laughed out loud at the remodeling of the ride. They took the batting to make scary cobwebs, looks like someone got tired in the middle and through a big wad of it in the corner. How's that for ambiance:confused3

444 more days!! Just thought the 444 looked neat.

Anyway, I sure wish they would post the packages/rates for 2009. I really am ready to get this trip booked. The waiting is just about to kill me.

I can't wait for the 2009 rates either, but mainly because I'm stalled out on any further plans! I make my ADR's in a couple of weeks, but I can't even make my room res into a package till August. Ugh.

I know, I'm anxious for more info too!! Packages, rates, what the DDP will encompass, etc. etc. Also anxiously awaiting more T-Rex info as that will determine our final ADR decisions.
