I am trying to find out the actual dollar amount price for the 2009 dining plan. Wondering if anyone can tell me what the cost is for the quick service plan and the basic dining plan and what all is included. I called wdw last week and the cm was unable to tell me the answer. Does anyone know?

Thanks
Kim

I am checking out the quick service plan right now to see if it is a good deal for our May trip.
The quick service plan is $29.99/night for adults $8.99/night for children
You get two counter service meals and two snacks-you also get one refillable mug per person.

The Dining plan is $39.99/adult and $10.99/child.
One table service, one counter service, one snack.

You can also do the DxDDP and get 3 ts meals and 2 snack credits per day. This is 71.99/adult, 20.99/child.

Do you know if the quick meal plan or the regular dining plan is better. We are going the end of January 2009 and are going back and forth with what to do. We don't eat a lot and quick meals are fine but might want to try and few table service meals? Not sure if it is too late for reservations for those or not.

For only $10 more a day, you get a sit down meal. I, personally, think the Basic dining plan is well worth the extra cost.

You can also do the DxDDP and get 3 ts meals and 2 snack credits per day. This is 71.99/adult, 20.99/child.

Not per day - per night of your stay. (This is generally an important distinction since most guests are at WDW more days than they are nights.)

If you select the regular plan, you will have one TS meal for each night of your stay. The regular plan is a better bargain, but only if you want to use the TS meals. You should call Disney Dining and see if there are ADRs available for places and times you would want to eat before you decide. You can make the reservations and cancel later if decide not to go on the regular dining plan, as you do not have to be on the dining plan to make ADRs. If you are only interested in doing one or two TS meals, it may better to do the Quick Service Plan and pay OOP for the TS meal. (I would try to estimate the costs of paying OOP of for TS meals plus the Quick Dining Plan vs. the cost of the regular dining plan, plus tips for the TS meals (which are not included under the plan). You can get the costs of TS meals from the menus at allears.net.

Exactly. This confused me like crazy when I first started looking into our trip. The night versus day wording really makes a huge difference.

Does anyone know if they have finalized the restaurants that are participating the the DDP for 2009 yet? It looks as if a lot are still missing from the list. . . Last I heard they were still in talks with the non-Disney owned restaurants. . . It is December, so it sure would be nice to know for those of us going next month!! :goodvibes

Can someone tell me why the Basic Plan does not include a refillable mug? The other plans do and this is the only one that doesn't. Im guessing maybe it is the most popular plan and the mug may be an enticement to sell the others. Pretty weak guess, but thats all I got.

No, it is not on the Basic (Regular Dining Plan). It has been on the delux plan, and it is included in the Quick Service Plan which starts in 09'. It does seem a bit strange that it would be included with the "cheaper" dining plan and not the regular plan. I would think Disney is trying to keep the cost of the regular plan down; and, like you mentioned, it may be on the Quick Plan as an added enticement to try to get people to sign on for the Quick Plan.

It probably has to do with costs too. The jump from Quick plan to regular Dining is only $10, but there's a difference of $32 between regular Dining and Deluxe. So, that's one extra TS for only $10 or two extra TS for $16 each. The former is extremely cheap for a TS given the restaurants Disney has, while the latter is more in line with what most people will order unless they go to one of the higher end TS restaurants (like Le Cellier).

Thanks for the answer, I am still thinking we will do the basic dining plan, I just wish that they would have chosen to either bring back the appetizer or gratuity. The quick service would be nice but I know my family would probably end up using them for breakfast and lunch and then we'd still be eating at a table service for dinner which would undoubtedly be more than the $32 a night it would be saving us, so we will be doing as we normally would, basic dining plan and eat breakfast in the room. Thanks again, not sure exactly why cm couldn't find this answer for me.

I thought for 2009 the appetizer WAS back in the basic Plan :confused3

Tricia,

I'm so confused. My AAA TA told me appitzers & dessert were included. And if I click on the link to the pdf it lists Appitzers with the sit-down meal.

Would you mind sharing your link? This is Disney's Official Info from 2009 (as far as the links) Appetizers are for children only - from the children's menus (and aren't that great - not like adult appetizers)

Summaries are written interpretation of the plan

Here is the information for 2009. The prices are per night. :goodvibes

Your travel agent is incorrect if you are talking about basic dining - unless they were noting that appetizers are available for children age 3-9 ordering off the children's menu only. Appetizers from the regular menu are not available on the basic plan for anyone age 10 and over.

You may also be looking at the PDF for basic dining and not noticing that it lists appetizers as available for ages 3-9 only.
