For anyone that is an AAA member, just go to AAA.com and select Disney, then online brochure. Discounts are available for the cabins and campsites, excluding 12/18/09-12-31-09 - the busiest time of the year at WDW. At the time we are going we can get 20% off our cabin. But I am hoping for a bigger discount!

Well, I don't know what to make of Mousesavers. They make mention of a "Summer Season" which is not a Disney rate season I know of, and they fail to mention Pre-Holiday season which is a rate season at Fort Wilderness. I am reasonably certain that AAA discounts are not available at the campground during Peak season. Not to mention the fact that there are only a set number of slots for which AAA discounts can be applied at each resort (as I understand it anyhow). And AAA is supposed to be one of the straight-forward ones?

Consider the 4/3 deal. What day rate is used if your stay straddles a change of rate season? What if the "free" days are the only ones in the higher rate season.

I had hoped this might be a useful resource, but if it can only be of use if it includes discounts I fear it is doomed to uselessness.

I guess you feel that mousesavers discounts aren't correct because the called peak season summer season.

That said, I agree that it is incredibly difficult to factor in all the discounts available at any given time during the years. Using rack rate isn't very descriptive, IMHO, because almost no one pays it.

Heck, if I had to pay $2400 for a week in a cabin, I either wouldn't go or would stay elsewhere. But then again, I never pay full price for anything

You could qualify that the rates posted are rack and discounts are often available.

Keep a real close look to see if AP rates come out during the 20% off AAA period. That's how we ended up paying $159 per night last July. We originally were booked on AAA and the AP deal for the cabin was so good we decided to buy 2 APs and make a few more trips during the year. The difference in price was so great we paid just a bit more for 2 APs and we'll get 4 trips worth.

Even if you don't want an AP for everyone in your party - it can pay just to get 1 to save on the hotel room.

Plenty of people pay rack rates for cabins and all sorts of rooms. I didn't feel that assumption at all.

Getting a discount is a challenge. It is an effort, but a rewarded effort.

I think we'd need to hire Shan-man full-time to come up with a calculator that could keep up with all the wacky discount scenarios Disney dreams up on a regular basis - especially these days.

I like the idea of using it to budget and then being pleasantly surprised when I book and find out that I actually have some $$ leftover for the golf cart!

Here is the latest update. I added Golf Cart pricing, both Disney and Tee-Time. I had to estimate for Tee-Time, since I haven't seen their prices published, but is based on reported rates folks on the boards have gotten ($60 delivery and roughly $22 per day). If anybody has firm prices for Tee-Time, let me know and I'll update again. Hope ya'll find it helpful. Just go to post one to download the updated version.

I'm too lazy to read thru all the responses, but if this helps, FtW does offer AP & Fla Res discounts on the cabins during the value seasons. I think it probably works out to a 15-20% discount below rack rate, and once in a great while, they offer cabins for a flat rate per nite - like $150 for AP & Fla Res. It's offered in the Mickey Monitor (and maybe other publications) and you have to act fast because the availability is limited. I don't pay too close attention to the cabins 'cause I haven't used one since the early 90's.
