2008 Marathon Programs Arrived

Bill

Unless I'm misinformed, which may be the case, I belive you will get a few extra minutes vs. the sweeps in the half.

Aren't there more than 2 corrals per wave, plus what wave are you in? With you in B, there must be at least one corral behind you, and those corrals will be filled with lots of people. The start for the half on the new course is narrow, wicked narrow, so it will take a long time for all those people to cross the start, and the 16 minute per mile clock will begin at that time. If you can get near the start of the B corral you will cross the start many minutes before the sweeper clock begins, and you'll be on your way.

If I have this wrong, I apologize, but I recall more than 2 corrals for the waves of the half marathon start.

By the way, no packets in the mailboxes in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Apparently the Disney folks or the postal service cannot find us.

Craig

Craig, I think Bill got put into Wace C based on his estimate and not Wave B like he hoped which would give him an extra 20 minutes. Last year they didn't seperate the "B". All B-1, B-2, and B-3 all started together. No segregation. This might change this year as the refine the start process. Much better than the mass in 06.

He will need to move to the front to save him another 5-10 mins.

BTW, No luck out here on the West Coast:(

Ok! I am new to this marathon thing. Does everyone get one of these packets early. Or will I be one of the lucky ones possibly that have to wait???Oh, Please no I have been training for 2.5 years for the Goofy. Please someone help ease my mind.

Everyone should have them by the end of next week. It has taken mine a coupls of weeks to get out west the last 2 years for the Goofy. They are sent bulk mail around the holiday mail means Pony Express. If you don't get it after the 1st week of Dec, I would contact EMMI and they will send another. I had to do this last year.

Breath in through nose and out through mouth:rolleyes1

20 mile run today and NO PACKET IN SIGHT!!!!! There is no justice in this world!

Waaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**Craig** Robert's post is accurate. My number is in the over 30,000 range. Thus, if my understanding is correct and they use 3 waves for the half like last year, I will be in wave C. Last year, wave A started at 6:00AM, wave B at 6:10AM and wave C at 6:30AM.

I'm just 90 minutes from WDW (on the beach), and nothing here yet. Of course, I fully expect to be at the back of the pack, so I expect that means I'll get this last, too.

How can you tell what corral you will be in???

We put in that we would finish the 1/2 in 3 hours

Hi Kim:

Visit this webpage of mine that Disney used to set the corrals and waves at http://www.disneyrunning.com/07fullchutes.html . They may change it a little by adding another corral for the marathon but what I have seen from runners #'s so far, it looks like it will be the same. No guarantees.

still no packet for me here in Northern NJ....my mailman thinks I am crazy, because I am waiting for the mail every day! Hopefully today it will come!!!

I got my packet for the full but DH did not get his today.

I am #7373.

Wonder what corral I'm in.........

hmmmmmmmm..........................still no packet here!!!

I'm still waiting somewhat patiently for them while the butterflies increase!

Erica:)

Hi All,
I'm bib number 107.

OK, since I am fanaticizing about getting my packet, I figure I'd just fanaticize about my bib number too :) Might need to add a 14 in front of that number, we'll see.

Didn't receive it today either!

hi everyone

like a lot of people, i haven't reeived my program yet. i've been reading this thread, and had a question, which i hope hadn't already been asked.
according to ultramickeymouse's web page and posts, it shows all the read and blue runners merging onto the start line. according to the latest marathon map, there's two separate start points (red and blue), these two groups merge three miles into the race (after looping around epcot).

is this what ultramickeymouse is implying in his maps, but with a greatly reduced scale? or am i just not getting it?

thanks

There are 2 seperate starts(as shown on the maps)Red & Blue. They merge backstage in EPCOT just after mile 3 before heading onto EPCPT Center Dr and heading to MK.

Hope this helps:)
